A true Düsseldorf establishment, Breidenbacher Hof is a pioneer among hotels in Düsseldorf and has been welcoming guests – and creating stories – for over 200 years. Turn-of-the-century architecture. Elegant interiors. Personal service that knows no bounds. And an unrivalled location that puts the iconic Königsallee and the Old Town at your feet. Our five-star boutique luxury hotel re-writes the city escape.
Located in Altstadt Duesseldorf on the Koenigsallee, a five-minute stroll from the Rhein, 15-minutes' walk from the train station, this opulent hotel, Duesseldorf's finest, is the city's grande dame. It is regularly seen as being at the top of the heap in Duesseldorf and now a part of the Small Hotels of the World group.
The hotel has more than 200 years of history, though there have been interruptions. During the golden age of luxury travel, the Breidenbacher Hof hosted kings and czars and German nobility, and it is right on target with its current clientele of fashion and high-tech moguls.

Quite a good experience. Rooms were very well maintained, so some work was needed to expose drywall, but the taste was immaculate. Varying thicknesses along the wall, very classy. Staff were kind and respectful. No questions were asked, which is always a plus. All in all, a very pleasurable experience.

The Breidenbacher Hof is as close to perfect as I have experienced in an inner city hotel. It is low key with all the amenities you require in a fine setting. It starts when you walk into the lobby and are greeted by name. I did finally learn how they do it, not magic just clever. The last 2 visits which were done through Amex Fine Hotels, I did receive upgraded rooms (even though the fine print always says subject to availability). Breakfast and dining excellently done and if not on the menu they will try to accommodate. That leaves the “Living room”. A quiet lounger, open to guests, and staffed by “personal assistants”. They are there to help, guide and deal with any and all requests. I have a poor memory for names, especially when the staff and they all deserve cudos for their work but the one I do for all her help from making dinner reservations in the hotel reservations on a busy night to finding a fine restaurant for 15 people off premises the next night during a large trade sow at the Messe. Thank you Kora.

In early April, we visited Düsseldorf for the first time. It was exceptional. Of course, sunny spring weather in the high 60s and the city awash in early blooms and blossoms didn't hurt! We stayed in the center of everything at the Breidenbacher Hof. We have travelled extensively and have had the privilege of staying at some of the finest establishments in the world. This hotel rivals them all. The hospitality, comfort, elegance is among the best. One has the feeling of being in an old, world hotel palace since for 200 years there has been a hotel on site. Yet, everything is completely modern, having recently been renovated. Also, the food and drink offerings at the Duchy restaurant , Lobby lounge and bar are simply outstanding. Can't wait to return!
