If you are looking for a superior hotel in Edinburgh, I would highly recommend the 100 Princes. This October, my wife and I spent 4 nights and everything was exceptional. From the friendly staff, to the beautifully done interior, the convenient onsite bar/restaurant(The Wallace), and the very comfortable suite we could not have picked a better location to relax and explore Edinburgh. We also enjoyed one of the hosted “Whisky Tasting Experiences”. If you like whisky, whether you are new or familiar with Scotlands regional offerings, I would also very highly recommend this offering. I’ve stayed in a number of 5 star hotels over the years and the 100 Princes truly deserves its 5 star rating.

Excellent stay! Staff are friendly, the location is close to major attractions and numerous restaurants. The bed was comfy and the rooms were clean. After a day of sightseeing, enjoyed the little sweet with turn down service. Thank you for making my daughter’s birthday special!

The pros: The service was excellent The common rooms are lovely The food was very good Breakfast was great The overall vibe is very nice The cons: I gave this hotel 4 stars because of the room size and value for money. The nightly rate should be 30-40% lower due to the room sizes. The experience was great, but the rooms kill the deal. We met another guest who said “when my wife saw how small the room was, she wanted to kill me!”

There are a lot of 5 star hotels in the United Kingdom, but I suspect that very few of them offer the same type of experience that you will find at the 100 Princes Street. This is not really a hotel, it is much more like a private club where every guest is treated like a close family member. The attention to detail throughout the residence is magnificent, the rooms are exceptionally comfortable with every modern convenience, and the food is great. What really sets this hotel apart from all the others, however, is the staff. Bright, energetic, kind and beyond helpful. Their motto is whatever you want, 24/7 and they most definately deliver on their promise. I would also very strongly recommend their whisky tasting experience with either Rory or Dario. If you like or would like to learn more about whisky, this will be the highlight of your trip to Scotland.

This boutique hotel provided us with a high level of personal service from the moment David greeted us at the door. The concierge - Alastair - even reached out to us before we arrived and eagerly accommodated our every request. Every staff member called us by name throughout our stay. Breakfast was served at low coffee tables in the lounge by Kate and her attentive colleagues. We felt like we were staying in the private club this building once was instead of a hotel. The location is in the newer section of town and we felt like we were living there instead of just visiting.
