We were enjoying the first night of an incredible stay at 100 Princes St when at 3 AM fire alarms went off and we were evacuated from the hotel as a neighboring property was engulfed by flames. As of two days later authorities have not yet allowed us to return to the hotel. What is remarkable about the experience is the loving, thoroughly professional, tireless and competent service of the 100 Princes staff. They calmly gathered us and took us to a neighboring hotel where we were allowed to shelter. Other accommodations were arranged and we moved into another hotel at 5 AM in the morning. Laura, Neil and others have kept us informed, safe and comfortable. Staff has gathered our belongings and taken them to another hotel where we will soon retrieve them. Hotel management has faced an incredible test with this incident and passed with flying colors.

This is a gem of a hotel! Service is outstanding. Hannah was exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable as was Jesus and Dario. You will not regret staying at 100 Princes. Location is central and walkable to tourist attractions, train station and loads of restaurants and shops.

We stayed at 100 Princes Street with a multi-generational group of 7 people across 4 rooms. Despite being an intimate hotel, the staff were always happy to accommodate our crowd with some of the best services I've had the pleasure to experience at a hotel. Our train arriving to Edinburgh was seriously delayed. On check-in, Ellie asked if we had plans for the evening, and we let her know that we were trying to make it to a Sunday Roast reservation in 20 min. She immediately said she'd contact the restaurant to see if they could delay our reservation to give us a little more time. To me, that's the peak of a luxury hotel experience. She took something we hadn't even raised as a problem, and she found a way to solve it without us needing to do anything further. What a great experience! The breakfast area is mostly small tables, so (again, without us even needing to ask), 100 Princes Street let us know that they had set aside the private dining area for us for breakfast each morning, so we could all eat together. We didn't need to make reservations, we didn't need to scramble, there wasn't confusion each morning from the staff. Everyone just knew that our party would be dining for breakfast in the Gillies Room - that's luxury hotel service! The rooms are very comfortable (albeit small), with lovely appointments and styling. The location is an easy (uphill) walk to the Royal Mile and other sightseeing destinations. Even though the street outside is busy, we never heard any noise at night. I've had the opportunity to stay at a lot of luxury hotels around the world, and 100 Princes Street ranks among the *very* best.

Some hotels impress you with their grandeur. Others win you over with the way they make you feel. This one does both. Perfectly located directly opposite Edinburgh Castle, this discreet property offers one of the most spectacular views in the city while remaining wonderfully peaceful. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. Check-in was effortless, warm and incredibly natural. Instead of simply being handed a room key, we were welcomed with a choice of a renowned glass of champagne or a superb 15-year-old Scotch whisky—an elegant touch that immediately set the tone for our stay. Our One Bedroom Suite was simply outstanding. Spacious, beautifully appointed and exceptionally luxurious, it combined refined Scottish elegance with every modern comfort. The bathroom was equally impressive, and throughout the suite, the attention to detail was remarkable. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people. Whether it was housekeeping, breakfast service, reception, the concierge or the bell team, every interaction felt genuine, effortless and personal. Nothing ever seemed scripted. Every member of staff made us feel valued, welcomed and sincerely happy to have us there. We stayed for three nights, yet we left with memories that will stay with us for years. By the end of our stay, we found ourselves remembering the names of so many members of the team—not because we had to, but because they had achieved what so few luxury hotels truly manage to accomplish: creating a genuine human connection with their guests. Luxury is not about marble bathrooms or beautiful furniture. Luxury is making guests feel special. Luxury is creating memories they will never forget. If you’re looking for a refined address in Edinburgh with exceptional service, impeccable hospitality and a team that genuinely cares, look no further.
