Magical Gem in Edinburgh!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

I would give this 10 stars if there were ten to give! What a magical stay. From the hotel property itself to the team that run it - they thought of everything that anyone could possibly want or need during their stay. It's location is close enough to everything but far enough to "step out of the chaos" and have a peaceful moment by magical Dean Village. A wonderful experience.

Moldy, damp rooms, very poor customer service.

My family of 5 (3 adult children)was golfing and touring in Scotland. We stayed 2 nights at the Bonham Hotel. The hotel was booked months in advance thru our travel agent at Carr Golf for 3 premium rooms. We were placed in the basement next to a service entrance. The smell of mold was overwhelming and the rooms were damp. There was no exhaust fan for the bathroom or dehumidifier. They were not able to accommodate new rooms on the higher. Our clothes were damp by the time we checked out. The hotel is in need of a cleaning. Our carpet was stained. The air freshener in the lobby is overpowering to cover the mold smell.

Another amazing stay!

Once again we had a incredible stay before and after this year’s Scotland adventure! I’ve written several Bonham reviews and because consistency and quality matter and that’s The Bonham, I’ll write another one! The Bonham is simply the only place we will ever stay in Edinburgh! It’s a lovely boutique hotel with great public spaces and fantastic rooms and terrific people. The staff are great. I never remember all of the names but Danielle and Emil at breakfast are wonderful. And Pedro was also great to talk with as were everyone at the front desk and the lady who staffs the bar. This time, as I prepare for a hip replacement, I was a little mobility challenged and everyone went out of their way to be helpful! Thank you! The views from the rooms that face the back of the hotel are absolutely incredible - at least “our” room. We invited a friend who lives in Edinburgh to check out the view, he deemed it to be one of the best in Edinburgh. The picture I included is just a small portion and doesn’t do the view justice. On a clear day and it usually has been, you can see the the bridges, the Firth of Fourth, Fife, and then closer, the Dean Bridge, Dean Village, the Waters of Leith, and the grounds of the modern art gallery!

Nice hotel.

Lovely hotel in a quiet part of Edinburgh. Staff was very helpful.. However, the hotel is not air conditioned which probably wouldn’t be an issue most of the time, but we were there during a warm spell. There was a fan in the room, but it just recirculated warm air.

Fabulous

Stunning hotel, in a quiet but central city centre location. Wonderful sleep in the extremely comfortable bed and great pillows. Staff were welcoming and friendly and very attentive. Can't wait to return for another visit!
