Wow, this is a must stay in Edinburgh! My husband and I had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights during our European vacation and I wish we could have stayed longer. The entire staff was so welcoming from the bellman to the housekeeping team, and they made it such a joy to be a guest. We were upgraded to an incredible room that had a perfect view of the city and castle, and the room itself was absolutely gorgeous. Our travels will definitely bring us back to this spot and I would recommend everyone book now!

We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Caledonian Hotel and we cannot say enough about the exceptional personal service from all the staff which contributed to the unforgettable experience we had. From the moment we booked our event we knew we were in good hands by Melony who took care of every detail & Struan who looked after us on the day of the event , we were treated with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care that made us feel truly special. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Upon check-in, we were surprised with a beautifully decorated room complete with chocolate dipped strawberries and a complimentary bottle of champagne. It was such a thoughtful and elegant touch that immediately set the tone for a magical evening. Melony helped us organise an intimate dinner with close friends and family in one of the hotel’s private dining rooms. Everything—from the stunning table setup to the exquisite menu—was handled flawlessly on the day by Struan . The meal was delightful and the chef kindly catered for some of our guests with dietary requirements all of which was both delicious and beautifully presented. The service throughout our stay was impeccable. Every staff member we encountered, from the concierge to the housekeeping team, was attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making our celebration memorable. Special thanks to Melony & Struan for their outstanding support and kindness. The hotel itself was immaculate, with elegant interiors, comfortable accommodations, that added to the romantic atmosphere of the occasion. Thank you, Caledonian Hotel for making our 40th anniversary celebration everything we had hoped for—and more. We will cherish these memories forever and look forward to returning in the future. My boyfriend and I just had a lovely stay at the Caledonian. I would recommend going to to the court lounge in the hotel to have a drink, as it will not disappoint. Massive thank you to Ruaridh as his espresso martinis were excellent ! The customer service was very warm and welcoming throughout our stay, we will definitely be back !

I recently checked out of a three night stay at this hotel and was disappointed with my experience. The second day, I received a threatening notice from Catherine Fraser (Front House Manager) under the door accusing me of smoking in the room, saying I would be charged 250, and acknowledging that the authorities were contacted. I did nothing of the sort, and for a 5 star hotel to go straight to this level of accusation is disappointing and impacted the remainder of our stay. What they considered "evidence" of smoking was actually a closed glass bottle in the waste basket that we carried with us around town as to not litter on any property. It was simply being disposed of at the end of the day. Additionally, the day we received a notice a dirty rag from housekeeping was left in our room. If you stay at this hotel, I'd caution you not to even bring cigarettes in your room for fear of having the authorities alerted and a 250 fine.
