Important - The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has recently been renamed to The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Caledonian Edinburgh is currently undergoing renovation expected to be completed early 2025. The transformation of the hotel is already well underway and is taking place over a phased approach to ensure we can continue to operate as business as usual.

Standing proudly at the west end of Princes Street, the heart of the capital, its reputation for style and excellence has attracted generations of locals, international visitors and notable personalities for over one hundred years. We recently stayed at the Caledonian Edinburgh as part of our family adventure through England and Scotland, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, this historic hotel felt warm, welcoming, and perfectly suited for a family with two young daughters. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Edinburgh with a stunning, panoramic view of Edinburgh Castle from our room. Waking up to that iconic sight every morning was magical. The hotel blends classic elegance with modern comforts, making it feel special without being stuffy. What truly made our stay memorable was the incredible staff, especially Dean. He went above and beyond, offering thoughtful, knowledgeable recommendations on where to go and what to eat. Whether it was suggesting family-friendly spots for dinner, hidden gems for a walk, or tips on navigating the city with kids, Dean’s advice was spot-on and delivered with genuine enthusiasm. The hotel is wonderfully family- friendly and a welcoming atmosphere that made traveling with children easy and enjoyable. We felt completely taken care of throughout our stay. If you’re visiting Edinburgh with family or looking for a beautiful, central base with outstanding service, I highly recommend the Caledonian. We’d happily return on our next trip to Scotland! Thank you, Dean and the whole team, for making our visit so special.

The Caledonian is a beautiful 5 star hotel with a beautiful lobby, staircase and restaurant. Our room was fabulous with a great bathroom with walk in shower. We had a perfect view of the castle. It was worth upgrading our view. The connoisseur was very helpful. The restaurant had a nice breakfast and lunch with good customer service. Room service was also very good., The hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to the Royal mile and castle, princess street park is across the street from the hotel. We were very happy with our stay.

My husband received an afternoon tea gift for his big birthday and we had the best time here. The choice of teas was particularly interesting and lovely , a complimentary cocktail and ice cream along with the fantastic sandwiches, scones and cakes and a box home full of what we couldn’t manage to eat. First class experience with 5 star service from Lucy and Rebecca. Many thanks for a wonderful time .

Having met some friends here for cocktails and small appetizers, and I was wildly impressed. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff (Tegan, Tahlia, Heather, Lucy, and Leah) were all so lovely and knowledgeable. They provided amazing service and I would highly recommend a visit in.
