Overlooking one of Edinburgh's prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square consists of seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town. Our beautifully formed bedrooms and suites are inspired by the golden age of travel and a genuine sense of Scottish hospitality. Sitting proudly in the middle of the hotel is The Garden bar and restaurant, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. Light and bright during the day for breakfast and lunch, transforming in to a fairy lit hideaway in the evening for cocktails and dinner. Sample our Twilight Tea, a unique take on the classic afternoon tea with a focus on savoury flavours from 12pm to 10pm every day. BABA restaurant is a sumptuous, relaxed journey to the Levant, featuring mezze, charcoal dishes and small plates with bold Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours perfect for sharing. Cocktails take on the adventurous flavours to continue the journey until late in the BABA bar.

We recently stayed at the Kimpton Charlotte Square in Edinburgh for my partner’s birthday, and it was, without a doubt, one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. We were delighted to receive an upgrade to a beautiful suite, and the thoughtful touch of a bottle of Prosecco for my partner’s birthday made the experience feel extra special. Check-in was smooth, warm, and professional, and my IHG status was acknowledged immediately, which I really appreciated. The hotel itself is stunning, but the spa took it to another level—relaxing, well-kept, and the perfect way to unwind. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice and great quality. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the perfect stay. We truly could not have asked for more. A huge thank you to the entire team at Kimpton Edinburgh for making this birthday trip unforgettable. We will definitely be returning!

Booked this on secret escapes and were so glad we did. Perfect location on the Square and George St. everything within walking distance. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely reception staff who were efficient and welcoming. Was booked in within 5 mins and also got an upgrade to a junior suite (room 211) which was a lovely surprise. After been shown a brief tour of the hotel our bags arrived to our room which was a great sized room with separate dressing area. The hotel also has a great Lebanese restaurant called Baba which we ate there a couple of times on our stay. Food and staff all great and we enjoyed it very much as we haven’t eaten that type of cuisine before. Also has a lovely relaxed bar and some beautiful areas to relax including a garden room which you can enjoy drinks and food and also a spa and pool. Decor was very fitting for the style of building and we both loved our stay very much. All staff were so nice and always had a hello and a friendly chat. Room service was top notch and extremely clean with great facilities within the room. A big thank you to all for a great stay. Next time we visit this will be our first choice given our experience and location of this hotel. Highly recommended from us. Thank you all. Paul & Anna x

We had a one night stay at Kimpton Charlotte Hotel, we had a wonderful stay for my husbands 60th birrhday treat. All staff we met were attentive and extremly helpful, our room was lovely with the little extras, tuck box and nice coffee making the difference. We would highly recommend a stay here.

After several business stays at the Kimpton Charlotte Square, my husband suggested we bring our family for a three-night break to enjoy Edinburgh’s Christmas festivities and experience the wonderful hotel together. It’s safe to say we were not disappointed. Perfectly located in the heart of Edinburgh, the hotel truly shines. The front-of-house team are fantastic, and the customer service is exceptional. A special thank you to Freya, who helped us ahead of our stay with questions about our room setup and check-in times. Kim, the Guest Services Manager (and duty manager during our visit), was absolutely superb. Her customer service was second to none. She assisted with every query and handled our requests with warmth and efficiency. As a family of five, we stayed in interconnecting rooms. They were spotless, stylish, spacious, and beautifully decorated — everything you need for a comfortable night’s sleep. The small details were so well considered: perfectly placed mirrors, great lighting, and plenty of plug sockets. The bathrooms were modern and well equipped with luxury products, fresh fluffy towels, and cosy robes. We also loved the tuck box with complimentary crisps and biscuits, as well as the high-quality tea and coffee — Taylors and Nespresso — plus fresh milk in mini glass bottles and well-stocked water. We made the most of social hour each day, enjoying complimentary house drinks from 5–6pm — such a thoughtful touch and a lovely way to unwind after sightseeing. The bar staff were friendly, attentive, and helped create a vibrant, buzzy atmosphere. The spa and pool facilities are beautiful. Our three boys were thrilled with the allocated children’s swim slots, offered three times a day, giving plenty of flexibility. Although we didn’t use the spa treatments this time, the menu of massages and beauty treatments looked tempting. Visiting during the festive season was magical. Edinburgh’s Christmas markets offered a fantastic atmosphere, with rides like the big wheel, ice skating, the high flyer, and the polar ice bar — all brilliant fun. The markets were filled with lovely stalls, gifts, souvenirs, and plenty of food and drink options. We also enjoyed strolling to the Old Town, full of great shops, restaurants, pubs, and sights to explore. Travelling from London was simple — the tram from Edinburgh Airport takes you straight into the city centre, and it’s just a short walk from there to the Kimpton Charlotte Square. We had wonderful meals at Amarone, Chakoo Bombay Café, and BrewDog, all within walking distance of the hotel. Overall, it was another fabulous weekend in Edinburgh, and we’re already looking forward to our next stay. We will most certainly be returning to the Kimpton Charlotte Square. A huge thank you to everyone who made our stay so wonderful!
