About the Hotel
Overlooking one of Edinburgh's prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square consists of seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town. Our beautifully formed bedrooms and suites are inspired by the golden age of travel and a genuine sense of Scottish hospitality. Sitting proudly in the middle of the hotel is The Garden bar and restaurant, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. Light and bright during the day for breakfast and lunch, transforming in to a fairy lit hideaway in the evening for cocktails and dinner. Sample our Twilight Tea, a unique take on the classic afternoon tea with a focus on savoury flavours from 12pm to 10pm every day. BABA restaurant is a sumptuous, relaxed journey to the Levant, featuring mezze, charcoal dishes and small plates with bold Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours perfect for sharing. Cocktails take on the adventurous flavours to continue the journey until late in the BABA bar.

Outstanding 21st birthday treat
I treated my daughter to a spa package at the Kimpton Charlotte Square formher 21st birthday and what a treat it was! The team including Madea, Crystal and Bianca were all wonderful - friendly, skilled and very professional. My daughter left with a birthday gift bag and message from the team which was a lovely touch. We then had lunch at Baba in the hotel which was outstanding (included in package) - the food is always so excellent and the service was wonderful. Again, my daughter was treated to a delicious birthday dessert - so unexpected and very welcomed. Well done Kimpton! We will back! Again! 🥰

Road noise. Drunks outside till 4AM
Road noise! Drunks outside till 4 AM both nights. Rude front desk staff. (Glasses and nose pierced) Kitchen was flooded so no breakfast. Very loud place. Not worth the money! Avoid.

Excellent massage by Chrystal and a friendly team
I have come here several times and have always had a great experience. This time, however, it was exceptional. Chrystal gave me the best massage that I have ever had. The bar was already high; it has now been raised further.

A great welcome
My wife and I stayed in the Kimpton for one night recently while on our way home from our nephew's wedding. Our greeting from the hotel reception (Maria) was probably the friendliest we've ever had. So pleasant and genuinely interested in what we had been doing in Scotland. We also enjoyed the social hour from 5pm to 6pm when wine, beer and nibbles were provided. Our room was pleasant enough but, as with other hotels in central Edinburgh, the prices are becoming ridiculous. We recently stayed a a similar hotel in London where a 2 nights stay was the same as 1 night in Edinburgh! Breakfast was OK but no more - the tea I asked for actually came in a teapot smaller than the mug provided - a first for me. Apparently there were no bigger teapots.

Down memory lane
Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary we returned to the "Roxburgh" just to remember our fantastic wedding day celebrated there on 8 September 2001 over a glass of wine or two. The service today was just as good as we received then. We may have only spent a couple of hours today, but we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon made even better by the staff who were happy to listen to our memories and look at our photos. Thank you Lana from reception and Leo behind the bar 🙂
