About the Hotel
Overlooking one of Edinburgh's prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square consists of seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town. Our beautifully formed bedrooms and suites are inspired by the golden age of travel and a genuine sense of Scottish hospitality. Sitting proudly in the middle of the hotel is The Garden bar and restaurant, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. Light and bright during the day for breakfast and lunch, transforming in to a fairy lit hideaway in the evening for cocktails and dinner. Sample our Twilight Tea, a unique take on the classic afternoon tea with a focus on savoury flavours from 12pm to 10pm every day. BABA restaurant is a sumptuous, relaxed journey to the Levant, featuring mezze, charcoal dishes and small plates with bold Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours perfect for sharing. Cocktails take on the adventurous flavours to continue the journey until late in the BABA bar.

It's a commercial hotel with wonderful staff, an average bar, and rooms that are a bit jam-packed. Really, as good as it can be.

Kimpton charllote square is great
We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety, the gym had excellent equipment, and the hotel’s location was great. We also appreciated the complimentary replenishment of room amenities and the friendly, attentive staff. A special thank you to Matthew, who was incredibly kind and welcoming to our entire company group. Highly recommended!

Tiny room, with a huge price tag.
I stayed in this hotel on a Wednesday night. I paid £360 for the night for one room. The room was tiny. The receptionist offered to walk me up to the room as he said it was “hidden away” up a small stair case on the 3rd floor. When I got to the room I could not believe how small the room was for the price. The room is tastefully decorated but for the price and the size of the room I would not recommend it whatsoever.

Very nice hotel
Classy hotel with very good service and restaurant. We were disappointed with the multiple promises of an early check in. At $700/night they could have accommodated especially since the hotel was not full and it was not prime season and we offered to pay an early check in fee. We were told by one member to book an extra day if we wanted in early

Outstanding 21st birthday treat
I treated my daughter to a spa package at the Kimpton Charlotte Square formher 21st birthday and what a treat it was! The team including Madea, Crystal and Bianca were all wonderful - friendly, skilled and very professional. My daughter left with a birthday gift bag and message from the team which was a lovely touch. We then had lunch at Baba in the hotel which was outstanding (included in package) - the food is always so excellent and the service was wonderful. Again, my daughter was treated to a delicious birthday dessert - so unexpected and very welcomed. Well done Kimpton! We will back! Again! 🥰
