Overlooking one of Edinburgh's prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square consists of seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town. Our beautifully formed bedrooms and suites are inspired by the golden age of travel and a genuine sense of Scottish hospitality. Sitting proudly in the middle of the hotel is The Garden bar and restaurant, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. Light and bright during the day for breakfast and lunch, transforming in to a fairy lit hideaway in the evening for cocktails and dinner. Sample our Twilight Tea, a unique take on the classic afternoon tea with a focus on savoury flavours from 12pm to 10pm every day. BABA restaurant is a sumptuous, relaxed journey to the Levant, featuring mezze, charcoal dishes and small plates with bold Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours perfect for sharing. Cocktails take on the adventurous flavours to continue the journey until late in the BABA bar.

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel in Edinburgh and had a really pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore nearby shops, restaurants, and attractions. The room was stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like quality toiletries and a very cozy bed. I noticed, as some other guests have mentioned, that the rooms can feel a bit on the smaller side, but it didn’t take away from the overall comfort. The decor had a modern yet classic feel, which suited the atmosphere of Edinburgh perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with recommendations or requests. A few reviews I read beforehand mentioned slow service during busy times, and while I did experience a slight delay at check-in, it wasn’t a major issue. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, though it can get quite busy in the morning. Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a well-located, stylish hotel in Edinburgh with a welcoming atmosphere.

Just incredible, from check in to check out this was one of the most impressive hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Yes it’s a little “worn” but only adds to the character. Reception amazing, room was awesome, bar an restaurant team incredible. Atmosphere, high energy and very cool. Spa, incredible! Evening vibes are up there with best city breaks in Europe. I love this hotel and you will too. Just incredible. Thank you! 🙏

I cannot speak more highly of the lovely welcoming friendly staff at this gorgeous, well maintained, clean hotel. From the moment you walk in you feel like you should be there. The staff are helpful and want to go that extra mile to make sure your stay is a happy one. We ate at Baba and again had a great experience with happy helpful staff and amazing food. Breakfast was ok. But again good service with always ready to help staff. Bar: they are lovely, chatty, helpful respectful staff that cannot do enough for you. Their smiles glow and make you feel so welcome. I would not ever stay anywhere else. It is so hard to name everyone but from the door staff to the room booking staff (Kimberly). The best experience will be had at this hotel.
