Was here for the concert. It is a beautiful place with wonderful staffs. The rooms are tad small comparatively. The vibe was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed

We booked The Roseate Edinburgh expecting a small, five-star luxury hotel experience, but unfortunately the stay fell well short of that standard—especially given the price of more than $500 USD per night. Our “Superior” room was located in the basement of the House building across the street from the main hotel. The room had very little ventilation and no air conditioning. The only window that opened faced a side walkway directly accessible from the street, so leaving it open for ventilation also created a security concern. We eventually had to ask for a fan to make the room comfortable, but the fan provided was dusty and broken. Given how warm the room was, a functioning fan should have been provided from the start. The bathroom was small, and the shower was especially cramped for a taller person. More concerning, the bathroom did not feel properly clean. There was visible mold along much of the caulking in the shower, which is particularly unacceptable for a property marketed as a five-star hotel. There were also large spiders in the hallway immediately outside our room. Service was similarly disappointing. Breakfast was extremely slow, and during every one of our four mornings, something from our order was forgotten or missed. Housekeeping staff regularly smoked directly outside our basement window, which made the ventilation problem even worse. There was also no evening turndown service, something I would normally expect from a hotel positioning itself as a five-star luxury property. None of these issues individually would necessarily ruin a stay, but together they made the experience feel far removed from what was advertised. At this price point, the cleanliness, accommodations, amenities, and level of service simply did not match a five-star hotel. The Roseate may have some charming common areas, and perhaps rooms in the main building offer a different experience, but based on our stay in the House, this felt much closer to a three-star hotel than a five-star luxury property. For more than $500 per night, I would not stay again.
