The majestic structure housing The Scotsman Hotel has dominated the Edinburgh skyline for over a century, and has enchanted residents and visitors to the region since opening in 2001. This grand destination promises unsurpassed luxury. Residing in the former Scotsman Newspaper building, the hotel's lavish interior pays homage to its storied past, preserving the ornate ceilings, oak paneling, and imposing marble pillars. Located on renowned North Bridge in one of Scotland's largest cities, The Scotsman's elaborate façade seamlessly blends into Edinburgh's breathtakingly baroque backdrop. Each of the hotel's guest rooms is distinctive in its grandeur and design with elegant features including curved corner bay windows, marble bathrooms, and exquisite views of the city. The property, a part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts also features a sprawling private screening room complete with opulent leather seats, because nothing is as important as your luxury experience at The Scotsman Hotel.

My last night in Edinburgh, staying at the Scotsman hotels, felt like the cherry on top of the most delish Scottish ice-cream. After days of travelling around the city, Loch Ness, and the Highlands, landing here was simply Fab. Sweet Paulina - mi tocaya, as we would say in Colombia - and the efficient and professional Sally, were so lovely and welcoming! I have to give a massive shout-out to James — the absolute hero of this hotel. No matter what I needed, he was there with the best attitude and made everything so easy and stress-free. It’s rare to meet someone who just gets it the way he does. The hotel itself is beautiful — full of character and in the perfect spot to soak up the best of the city. Massive thanks to everyone at The Scotsman!

The Scotsman Hotel was fantastic! The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were large, comfortable and had great amenities. Location is super convenient, especially if you’re planning to take the train. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us without notice following a problematic accommodation booking at a nearby venue. Staff in the Grand Cafe were very attentive and warm. A special shout out to Amelia (who also speaks French) for taking care of us at dinner. Beautifully designed spaces in a historic building which was originally constructed as the Scotsman newspaper building. The wee drams in our room were a nice touch.

We had our wedding at the Scotsman hotel. We stayed for two nights in the publisher suite with our wedding reception held in the boardroom. From the minute we arrived to when we left we could not fault the service. Nothing was a bother and the hotel Staff could not do enough for us. For our wedding reception we did not have to lift a finger and the waiting staff were incredible. We cannot recommend the Scotsman hotel and will definitely return!

The entrance on the ground floor when you enter is dirty and grubby not a great first impression. Getting to the reception in the lift and then not getting much information about breakfast /dinner . I arrived after 6pm and at 7pm went to the bar to find a wedding on so was the sent to a mezzanine floor for drinks waited 20 mins ? . Following day went for breakfast which is in a horrible room downstairs on the 3 rd floor again not very clean and a strange smell which put me off so no breakfast was taken . The room is fine but would have expected a bath in an upgraded room . I feel this hotel is very expensive for what is provided and there is better in the city . The staff were very shabby and I would say the servers were not of a clean standard you would expect in a hotel of this price and standards . A very disappointing stay .
