Where do I even begin? We honestly cannot put into words how incredible our wedding day at The Scotsman Hotel was. From the moment we started planning right through to the last dance, every single member of staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is simply stunning, the location is perfect and steeped in Edinburghs history. Every room is beautiful, elegant, and full of character, creating the most magical setting for our wedding. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how gorgeous it was. The staff were nothing short of exceptional. They were warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about making our day as special as possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they made both of us feel completely looked after from start to finish. We were able to relax and enjoy every moment because we knew we were in the safest hands. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted incredible, with so many of our guests commenting that it was some of the best wedding food they’d ever had. As a bride and groom, you dream of your wedding day being perfect, and The Scotsman Hotel exceeded every expectation we had. They didn’t just host our wedding—they created memories that my husband and I will treasure for the rest of our lives. To everyone at The Scotsman Hotel, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the most magical day imaginable. Your kindness, dedication, and attention to every little detail meant the world to us. We would recommend The Scotsman Hotel to any couple looking for the perfect wedding venue without hesitation. It is definitely value for money, the rooms are super clean, elegant and just stunning. If we could give more than five stars, we absolutely would! We will celebrate our anniversary with a night at The Scotsman next year for sure!

This was the best hotel experience of our trip and we stayed at about 7 hotels over our month long trip. The staff was great, the room was spacious and amazing, the view was lovely and the location was perfect. We loved every minute of our stay. My only small little complaint is that the soap was very manly-scented which I didn’t like and it would be great to have a spa/hot tub on property, but it’s super trivial. Next time we are in Edinburgh we won’t stay anywhere else.

We had the leavers Prom at the Scotsman last Friday night. I was not looking forward to it as we’d been there about 5 years ago and it hadn’t been great. However, and this is a big however, it was OUTSTANDING. The staff were so attentive, checking in, checking on allergies etc. The food, and they were catering for a huge group, was incredible. The beef daube was melt in the mouth and the dauphinois, delicious. Also, not sure how they managed it with a party so large, but it was piping hot. The venue too was beautiful, like the magical land we want for our kids leaving. So, honestly, can’t recommend highly enough. Book it. Book it now. Another quick shout out to the staff, from the bloke who was in charge to the waiting staff, what a 360. Immense. Thank you.

Chose the hotel for it's central location and it was. Asked for a room with a decent view- did not get it. Was in a attic like room with no view. The reception amd service staff ranged from completely indifferent to downright unhelpful. The was decent size as was the bathroom. Breakfast was additionally (high) price so didn't try. It is seriously overpriced for what it delivers. Plenty of nicer centrally located options to choose from. Separately- the road outside is under serious construction causing traffic diversion. If you have luggage- there will be detours and you will get no help from the hotel staff.

THEY ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE, they lie, The manager promised an £80 refund for the awful experience we received and we have still not received it.
