We had the leavers Prom at the Scotsman last Friday night. I was not looking forward to it as we’d been there about 5 years ago and it hadn’t been great. However, and this is a big however, it was OUTSTANDING. The staff were so attentive, checking in, checking on allergies etc. The food, and they were catering for a huge group, was incredible. The beef daube was melt in the mouth and the dauphinois, delicious. Also, not sure how they managed it with a party so large, but it was piping hot. The venue too was beautiful, like the magical land we want for our kids leaving. So, honestly, can’t recommend highly enough. Book it. Book it now. Another quick shout out to the staff, from the bloke who was in charge to the waiting staff, what a 360. Immense. Thank you.

Chose the hotel for it's central location and it was. Asked for a room with a decent view- did not get it. Was in a attic like room with no view. The reception amd service staff ranged from completely indifferent to downright unhelpful. The was decent size as was the bathroom. Breakfast was additionally (high) price so didn't try. It is seriously overpriced for what it delivers. Plenty of nicer centrally located options to choose from. Separately- the road outside is under serious construction causing traffic diversion. If you have luggage- there will be detours and you will get no help from the hotel staff.

THEY ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE, they lie, The manager promised an £80 refund for the awful experience we received and we have still not received it.

The venue is absolutely beautiful, exactly as we'd hoped and we're so glad we choose The Scotsman to host our wedding day. The location really is fantastic. Very convenient for guests arriving and accessible for older guests where there's a lift outside Waverley station. Klea was a fantastic wedding coordinator. She was very polite, friendly and accommodating. Her attention to detail was on point for everything we wanted on the day. Ferris (general manager) who we met on the day was very welcoming too. The food was exceptional. The best chicken liver parfait, best beef dish and best sticky toffee pudding I've ever tasted. The honeymoon suite was beautiful where a couple of nice touches were left for us (bride and groom). It was the perfect way to spend the first night as a married couple. Would highly recommend.
