Another fantastic stay - gluten free options

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Fantastic 1 night stay. All staff attentive and very friendly. Tony was very helpful at check in. I'm gluten free and have other allergies and was very impressed with the variety of gluten free options provided for breakfast which included gluten free muffins made in Loch Ness and gluten free cornflakes and crossiants. The eggs florentine and avocado on toast with poached eggs we had for breakfast was great quality and cooked perfectly. The servers at breakfast were very attentive and prompt. Our room was very clean and cool which was great for the hot weather. This is our 3rd time staying and we will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff including housekeeping.

Always Great

A great hotel with excellent cleanliness. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The added extra of the lounge is a must. Drinks are great and food for everyone. Never had a chance to visit the spa on this occasion but will definitely be back.

Very disappointing

Stayed one night in a suite for Oasis gig on 12th.. Room was OK but water pressure awful. Breakfast was terrible.. Ran out of everything including eggs. Would not stay again.

High Expectations - Ok Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Had really high expectations for this spa as was recommended by my mum who has been a few times. It is an amazing experience and different to most spas. It has a number of different spaces with saunas, steam rooms, pools ect. Really is a vast space. Is showing signs of wear and tear and needs some TLC. No phones were allowed in the spa area, which is understandable, so no photos were taken. Few tiles missing from the pool, quite busy so not a lot space in each room, the mist button in the salt room wasn’t working ect. Is a very big space and really is a fantastic experience. Staff all seem very friendly too. We had some massages and the treatment space is very nice and calm. Got the feeling that they’re riding in the fact that they have so many options to choose from and really is a spa DAY not just an hour or 2, rather than perfecting the areas to a high standard. Good day out, however needs work and management on the amount of people there. We had lunch in the spa cafe, not a lot of great option and the food is very, very basic for the price. Would not eat there again at all.

A reasonable choice in Edinburgh

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A nice central option in Edinburgh. It’s not quite a 5-star option but I’d rate it as a solid 4-star option. There were some shortcomings in the club lounge (staff said it was table service so we almost missed out on the snacks). Breakfast was nice in the restaurant with good a la carte options but it’s disappointing they don’t have freshly squeezed orange juice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the towels were too soft to dry your body effectively and the toiletries were standard Sheraton ones even in account room. The view from the room was nothing special. However, with the good location, at the right price, this hotel can be a solid option in Edinburgh.
