Great choice for Edinburgh stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

My family and I just stayed at the Sheraton Grand for 5 days while visiting Edinburgh. My Bonvoy status was noted upon checkin; I was given the bonus points and my room was upgraded since I applied "Night Upgrade Requests". Hotel room was very comfortable, very clean, very quiet, and had well-thought out lighting for the guests. Hotel staff at check-in, the concierge, and servers in the concierge lounge were professional and friendly. Location of the hotel was great. We walked to the castle, Royal Mile (Old Town), and New Town each day. We took the Airlink 100 bus from the airport; it was 8.50 GBP roundtrip; Shandwick Place stop was a few blocks away. It was easy to access buses/trams as well. We used the concierge lounge each morning for breakfast. A good spread was available; I would say it was somewhere between what you would see at a Residence Inn/Fairfield Inn and a full buffet. Great coffee machine, freshly-squeezed juice. Choices were good, but wished there was something varied since we were there for 5 morning breakfasts. Evening cocktail hours included nice choice of beverages, but the evening canapes/set-up could use some healthier choices and some different options. Overall, wonderful choice for Edinburgh and I highly recommend!

Enjoyable Edinburgh stay

Family trip to Edinburgh and was very satisfied with the Sheraton. Being just to the west of Edinburgh castle and next to the financial district, it wasn’t as crowded or noisy as being on the Royal Mile. Everything was within a short walking distance and a good variety of restaurants and attractions all around. Rooms were nice and modern, good amenities on site. If I have a recommendation, it would be for the hotel to remove the bath tub and expand the tight walk-in shower.

First excellent spa and treatment experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

First time visiting One Spa and was really impressed with the whole set up and facilities. As part of my Spa experience I was gifted a session for a Ultimate Hiro treatment. I would like give additional praise to Caitlin, my treatment therapist for her 1st class treatment. I highly recommend asking for Caitlin if you book.

The concierge Georgina and Adam were amazing getting use started on our adventure!! Edinburgh Castle was phenomenal. The tours at fisherman’s wharf will be on the Britannia was amazing and my birthday dinner celebration at rhubarb was phenomenal. Memories of a lifetime. Thank you both so much Tom and Shelly.

Double thumbs up 👍👍

**Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh — Double Thumbs Up! 👍👍** Nothing but good things to say about our stay at the Sheraton Grand. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was welcoming, friendly, and informative. They took the time to explain all of the hotel amenities, including their locations and hours, which we really appreciated. The hotel itself is updated, clean, and very well maintained. Our room had a wonderful view overlooking the castle and music center. It was clean, comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and had everything we needed for our stay. We also took advantage of the pool. It’s a bit of a maze to find the first time, and you do need to register and sign several forms before using it, which felt a little unusual for simply accessing a hotel pool. You’re given a key tag for the locker room where you can securely store your street clothes. Phones are not permitted in the pool area, although unfortunately not everyone follows that rule. The pool can also get a little crowded, but I was still able to get in my full hour-long workout, which was important to me. Overall, the Sheraton Grand was a great experience. The excellent staff, comfortable accommodations, cleanliness, amenities, and location made for a very enjoyable stay. **Double thumbs up from us! 👍👍 I would definitely recommend the Sheraton Grand to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.**
