Amazing wedding weekend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed here as our daughter was getting married within the venue. I have to say the hotel is amazing. It is so beautiful inside with many quirky additions. The chamber bedroom we had was lovely and spacious and the Sir Richard flat out daughter stayed in was like nothing I have ever seen. The staff were amazing and the food at the wedding could not be faulted. Thank you virgin hotel for making our daughter's wedding so memorable. It really is a magical venue and a stunning hotel. Special mention to Nathan who worked very hard to keep a very busy bar running smoothly in the venue and to Przemyslaw in the Evening bar who was so friendly and helpful.

Super expensive… yes, but super stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Yes, it is on a busy —very busy—-street in the heart of the city. And yes, even at the back of the the hotel you can hear thumping music in the distance on weekends. Oh, and the toilet seats do slide weirdly around. And it is super expensive. So with all that out of the way, it is still a great hotel. Front end service is exceptional from the second you arrive. Beautiful interior and very comfortable rooms. Staff work hard to keep you happy. The lookout area on the 7th floor is gorgeous. So if you go just know you will spend a lot of money— and have fun.

Disappointed by Sleep Quality – Not What You Expect from a 5-Star Hotel
 (2/5 Stars)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Sleep quality is incredibly important to us—especially leading up to something as significant as our wedding. Sadly, this hotel missed the mark in a big way due to the poor sound insulation in our room. We stayed for three nights before our wedding and were placed in a room with known noise issues. When we asked to move, we were told the hotel was fully booked. While the staff was kind and did provide earplugs, they also openly acknowledged that our room had received similar complaints in the past and that they were “looking into” window improvements. That is appreciated for future guests, but not exactly comforting in the moment. What made this especially disappointing is that the hotel knew we were staying before our wedding—a once-in-a-lifetime event—and still placed us in a room they were fully aware had unresolved noise problems. To make matters worse, several of our guests also stayed at the hotel, and none of them experienced these issues. It’s hard not to feel frustrated when the couple getting married ends up in the one room where sleep is nearly impossible. The first night was by far the worst—we were woken up repeatedly by what sounded like people yelling right outside the window (though no one was actually there). Being wide awake from 2:00 to 4:30 AM and repeatedly disturbed is unacceptable—especially at a property that markets itself as 5-star. Aside from this major issue, the hotel really was lovely: clean rooms, great design, comfortable bed, and excellent service (aside from the inability to switch rooms). But the lack of proper sleep before such a meaningful occasion completely tainted the experience for us. A beautiful hotel doesn’t matter much if you can’t rest—and for that reason, we won’t be staying here again or recommending it to others in the future. --------------------------------------------- Room: 1 out of 5 — Unfortunately, the lack of proper sleep due to the noise issues overshadowed everything else about the room experience. Service at Eve Restaurant & Bar: 6 out of 5 — Truly the highlight of our stay. The team here went above and beyond and made us feel genuinely welcome. Kindness of Staff Overall: 5 out of 5 — Everyone we interacted with was kind, thoughtful, and professional, which we really appreciated.
