Terrible experience. The hotel is next to a bar that makes loads of noise. We had 3 rooms of which 2 were 236 and 237. Complete waste. Sleeping on a street corner without a sheet would be better. Hotel manager was "unavailable" to talk to me despite numerous attempts to ask lower level managers to get in touch with her. I think she/he is afraid to deal with clients. I had booked the hotel for our first night and our last night. Had a nonrefundable room 2 nights later and asked to just be able to not return to the hotel bc the first night was so poor and was told no. Seriously? You give me 3 garbage rooms for my family of 5(-2 adults and 3 kids, bc of a desire to fill rooms methinks) and THEN after your manager is too afraid or not connected enough to talk to me you insist that I COME BACK . When I came back the lower level manager was nice enough. I got 2 quiet rooms... but one of them smelled like an ashtray. Room 709. I didn't bother complaining bc virgin is now on my do not use list for everything. I told the corporate office to fire the head manager. I hope they do.

From the time we arrived, every person we came into contact with was super friendly and helpful. This hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the city of Edinburgh on foot. We dined at both restaurants for dinners and ate breakfast each morning in Eve. Both were delicious, and we experienced excellent service. The hotel itself was very clean with daily housekeeping and turn down service. Room was spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated the overall layout and functionality. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Edinburgh. Make sure to check out the terrace for an incredible view of the castle.

Amazing hotel, perfect location, impeccable service and thoughtfully designed rooms. The hotel is just beautiful and elegant and modern while maintaining the historical charm of the building. The breakfast service was fabulous and cocktails to die for in the commons club. 5*+
