Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

We loved our stay here! The location was wonderful and right in the middle of everything we wanted to see. The family suite was perfect for our family of 4 and provided enough space for us to relax and enjoy our downtime.

The Virgin Hotel Edinburgh has a stellar staff, Ron in particular. From the time we arrived until we checked out, the entire staff made you feel valued. The room and the hotel was super clean and was well designed. We have stayed at many five star hotels however virgin tops them all. We will be staying with Virgin Hotels in the future. Great job guys!

Staff in the bar area seemed happier to chat among themselves rather than scan the room to see if they could help anyone. 3 staff stood chatting and were difficult to attract while 1 made cocktails. In contrast the staff in the restaurant couldn’t have been more customer friendly. Food very tasty but portions sizes were very small for the price which was duplicated with the deserts, very small potion v high price. Can’t see us being back

Great location in the hub of everything. Excellent concierge service as well. The layout of the hotel was awkward, but after a few wrong turns we navigated it all well.

The hotel is set in a brilliant location for the Old Town and is a beautiful old building on one of Edinburgh’s most iconic streets. The staff are exceptional and nothing is too much to ask and every staff member goes out of their way to give you an amazing experience. The facilities are great and the rooftop terrace is a real hidden gem of a location with photographic views of the castle. Our room was very clean upon arrival and we liked the layout of the room with a seperate shower and toilet, dressing room, and bedroom/lounge. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and I slept like a baby every night. We tried the bar and found the prices matched the rest of Edinburgh although service was much better! Breakfast in the mornings was lovely with great service, and the porridge is especially nice (and better than we can make it at home)!! On other reviews we have read there were mentions of noise, but we didn’t experience anything unusually noisy for a city considering we aren’t used to city life, living in a quiet isolated area day to day. We stayed Tues - Fri so not at the weekend. We’d not tried Virgin Hotels before but I would definitely stay with them again in any city. Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is a real gem and well done to all the staff as they make it what it is.
