Absolute top notch service and experience at this hotel. Staying there 4 days spoiled us as no other rooms compare to the luxury of having a separate toilet space, shower space and a way to close off the dressing room area to the sleeping area. The sheets are luxurious and the staff is always attentive to our every need. And that's to say nothing of the ambiance of the combination of historical building with Virgin red vibe. Delightful! I love this hotel.

Amazing from start to finish! We had the pleasure of staying in Kasbah Tamadot Suite. What a treat! When we arrived Veronica welcomed us warmly! We interacted on 3 occasion during my stay, and what a credit to the hotel - warm, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble! (sorry if I have mis-spelt the name!) The suite itself has 2 levels - entrance hallway leading to the upper floor - the amazing Moroccan inspired Kasbah snug, what a cool area! And the main area a spacious bedroom come lounge. The shower and toilet are located in the main room hallway with the added touch of underfloor heating! In the suite you will find a complimentary stocked minibar, this is the best I have ever had at any hotel I have stayed! What a selection! Top class - and even if not staying in a suite, the prices are very reasonable anyway. We originally booked to dine at Eve - however the room was just too amazing to leave so Veronica arranged us to swap and we had room service instead - as we wanted to make the most of using the room and it’s amenities. A must though is to enjoy the views from the 7th floor rooftop terrace! Even on a cold Edinburgh day, take a couple of drinks up, wrap up warm and enjoy the stunning views! Our stay here is one of the best nights I’ve ever had in a hotel - and I can’t wait to book again for another special occasion!

I am writing this review to warn other women and travelers about what happened to us at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh on 24–25 October 2025. During our stay, male hotel staff entered our room without any notice, consent, or reason, while the room was occupied by two women. We were left shocked, terrified, and humiliated. Instead of apologizing, the staff treated us disrespectfully and told us to leave as if we had done something wrong. No guest should ever experience such a violation of privacy and safety. We reached out to hotel management multiple times, and despite sending formal complaints and legal reports, no one ever responded. The silence only deepened the trauma and showed a complete lack of accountability or empathy. What happened to us was not a “service issue” it was a breach of trust, dignity, and human decency. I hope that by sharing this, no other woman will have to go through the humiliation and distress we did. Virgin Hotels should be ashamed that this happened under their name.

The balcony room is definitely worth paying extra for, amazing views of the castle and city from above, with a nice little bistro set to sit a take it all in. The bed was like sleeping in a cloud and the room overall was spotless. Couldn’t ask for more. I didn’t want to use any of the bar or dining facilities so can’t comment on those.

An absolute delight of a visit. Felt like home, staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. Everything was taken care of promptly. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Food was good and location brilliant.
