Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

The Great Canadian Railway Hotels have an amazing history, and I am trying to do all of them. The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald was number two for me and certainly did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful hotel, and with Accor gold status, I got upgraded to room on the sixth floor with a beautiful view over the river valley. I met interesting people in the bar and had a fantastic meal. These are the kind of hotels that define cities. Five stars.

Beautiful hotel. The location is gorgeous, the room lovely, the beds comfortable, and the front desk staff stellar. We had a minor glitch with our reservation, which was handled with such class and grace, it was a masterclass in fixing problems. We treated ourselves to a meal on the patio, overlooking the river valley. The food was exquisite. I don't often rave, but this place deserves it.

Nella offered exceptional customer service. The hotel never disappoints. Wonderful location, very clean. What this experience taught me is that staff truly care and that has accounts for my 5 star review. Thank for Fairmont for offering the highest quality customer service and I hope you continue to appreciate how your staff makes a guest feel safe and valued as a loyal customer!

I had the pleasure of staying here for 12 nights, and I can confidently say this is one of the best Fairmont properties I’ve experienced. The building is stunning—immaculately clean with decor that exudes elegance and attention to detail. Every aspect of my stay was flawless. From the room to the food and the outstanding service, everything exceeded expectations. A special thank you to Michelle in the restaurant, Yuri in the Confederate Lounge, and Danielle for your warm hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

We had an excellent stay at the Fairmont Macdonald. The location is perfect, with a beautiful view overlooking the river. The room was spotlessly clean — one of the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in. Housekeeping is doing such a good job, and it really showed throughout our stay. Check-in was fast and very efficient, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was a treat, thanks to our very accommodating server (sorry we forgot his name!). Overall, it was an excellent stay and we would definitely come back in the very near future.
