Truly an Unforgettable, 5-Star Moroccan Experience...Already Planning our Next Trip!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

My executive assistant arranged the hotel booking and coordinated our itinerary with the concierge team, marking the start of our exceptional experience. Leila was incredibly helpful and thorough, ensuring all our questions were answered and events were perfectly coordinated. Leila and the Concierge Team arranged a private car service, with a driver waiting at the airport to welcome us. We decided to spend a few hours shopping in Casablanca before being whisked away to the most beautiful 5-star property I’ve seen in a long time. Upon our early check-in on Tuesday morning, we were greeted by outstanding customer service, with Soufiane at the front desk. He ensured everything was perfect, providing his contact number and truly meaning it when he said, “let me know if you need anything.” We relied on him throughout our stay, and even when he was not at the hotel or working, he responded promptly and our requests were delivered flawlessly. Tuesday was spent relaxing by the pool, where the staff, food, and drinks were truly world-class. Americans cannot compare to the level of care these hospitality professionals provided. Even when we decided to head back to the Terrace within our suite, the pool staff followed with our beverages and snacks, setting them up in the room for us to continue enjoying. Wednesday was dedicated to a hotel-coordinated excursion to Marrakesh. We met Leila in the lobby at 8 AM, and she ensured we had any food, beverage, or items needed for our trip. Mourad was waiting at the Mercedes van, and the tour began the moment the car left the hotel. Mourad was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and quite truly a walking encyclopedia. He made the excursion so memorable that we decided to book an additional excursion on our departure day to learn even more about Morocco from Mourad. In Marrakesh, we visited all the usual sites, including the mosques, market, YSL Museum and garden, and had lunch at DAR MOHA(Morocco’s version of Gordon Ramsey). Mourad took us to the more authentic side of the market where we purchased argan oil, saffron, other spices, and traditional pashminas to bring home as gifts. There was plenty of art, traditional souvenirs, and handmade rugs to choose from! One of our favorite trinkets were these hand-carved “magic” boxes with secret compartments. The market was vibrant and thrilling, reminiscent of scenes from TV with cobras, street vendors, open-air cafes, monkeys, food, and shopping—a must-see in Morocco! Thursday was a mix of relaxation by the pool and an exhilarating guided ATV/Buggy tour on the beach and through the forest. Tennis shoes are recommended, but you can make do in whatever you are wearing, as I was fine in flip-flops. I cannot tell you how great the pool staff was; it’s unfortunate I cannot recall the server’s name we spent the week with, but he and the rest of the staff were amazing! Friday was dedicated to golf. We started the day with an extraordinary breakfast buffet, offering a wide array of fresh juices, pastries, charcuterie, traditional Moroccan dishes, and made-to-order eggs and French crepes. We were met at the seaside golf course by Hisham for our reservation to play 9-Holes. When we arrived, he greeted us, showed us around, got us our rental clubs, and anything else we could possibly need. The course was beautiful, and the staff was even better! After golf, Hisham took the time to return us to the main hotel in a golf cart, which was above and beyond considering we would have had to wait for the shuttle. He quickly became an unforgettable longtime family friend, and we can’t wait to come back! The golf course was immaculately maintained, with a groundskeeper at every hole and not a divot in sight. The fairways were like carpet! We decided to keep the fun going with a Go Kart Race after golf. We spent thirty minutes in a highly competitive matchup racing towards the finish…I won! That evening, my boyfriend told Soufiane that my favorite food was nachos, and at 6:30 PM, to my surprise, fresh nachos with guacamole and margaritas were delivered to our suite! One could argue why go to Morocco for nachos, but more importantly was the fact that they were amazing, fresh, and hot! And that the staff always went above and beyond to ensure all our wishes were met! On our final full day at the resort, we opted for ultimate relaxation at the Spa. Hamid assisted in booking us the Journey to Morocco service, a traditional Hamam experience that began with an hour-long scrub, followed by a 60-minute massage, which we chose to upgrade to 90 minutes to enhance our relaxation even more. The two ladies, Malika and Hanane performed our Hamman services and we could not have had a more relaxing experience. Saida and Laila performed our massages which were so relaxing. I chose to get my hair washed and blown out before dinner and Nidal could not have done a more amazing job! Even though the hotel specifically published men and women separate steam room times, they arranged for us to enjoy the steam room together for a short period before our service. Again, this is yet another testament to the level of service we enjoyed at what I would say is truly a 5-star resort. On the day of departure, we left at 8:30 AM to meet Mourad in Casablanca at the Hassan II Mosque. Not only was Mourad a wealth of knowledge, he took photos of us, skipped lines, and was purely great company, greeting every person we came into contact with dignity and respect, going out of his way to learn their stories and experiences. He was so great, we invited him to dine with us for lunch on both excursions! Upon our return to the airport, we were running late, but Leila from the hotel stayed in constant contact and ensured a representative met us at the car to assist with check-in and luggage. We went from being stressed about being late to relaxing in the lounge in no time! At the resort, whether we were at the seafood restaurant, Sel De Mer, the steakhouse, George, for lunch, morning buffet, or having drinks at Studio 42 with Said, the service was unmatched! We enjoyed an authentic Moroccan/Lebanese meal at Bushra by BuddahBar. Said even cut me fresh ginger and lemons for my evening tea and delivered them directly to my room. Anytime we brought something back to the room, they refused to let us carry it ourselves. The resort offers so many activities, it would be difficult to choose what to fill your week with. You don’t even need to leave the resort, but I encourage you to do so because everyone in the country is so warm, friendly, and welcoming. At no point did I feel unsafe or regret leaving the United States. There were plenty of English-speaking vendors at the markets and restaurants, and the hotel staff are well-versed in multiple languages. Everyone at the hotel was truly great, but Soufiane (Front Desk), Leila (Concierge Team), Said (Studio 42), Hisham (Golf Course), and Mourad (Marrakesh & Casablanca Private Guide) were exceptional. We can't wait to come back!

Disappointing experience: poor food quality and high prices, some staff bad behvior, no heated or interior pool...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

although the beautiful location of the hotel site the disappointing food quality in all restaurants and high prices of the food, adding to that some staff behavior (kids club staff in special) and the low maintenance of some public areas make this hotel not making you live and feel the 5 stars experience at all... very disappointing.

Amazing looking resort but in fact it was not that good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at the Mazagan Resort this March for a few days. We had a room with partial sea view. The room was nice but the rooms are quite noisy and so you can hear everything form the hallway as well as from the other room, as most rooms have connecting doors. The breakfast was not really impressive and we expected it to be better and more diverse. Just a few fruits, cereals selection also not really big, some of the hot dishes did not look fresh. Once we had dinner at the buffet restaurant which was nice but we had the feeling we as European guests were not treated as friendly as the Arab guests. At some tables Moroccan tea was served immediately and we had to ask for it. During our stay we had to change the room because it was so loud, after changing we received a room that was loud again. They could have given us a more quite one without any problems but they were just looking to give us the same room type as originally booked and not giving a better one as an excuse. Finally I can say the hotel looks very impressive but the services need to improve.

Mazagan Resort — Beautiful Beaches, Great Food, and Exceptional Service by Younes!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We’ve just spent a wonderful few days with the family at Mazagan Resort—a beautiful spot right by the ocean, with an amazing beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and the variety of activities, including tennis, running along the beach, gym sessions, and swimming both in the pool and in the sea. Overall, we’re very satisfied with our stay. The only thing we missed was a bit more variety among the restaurants, as a couple were closed during our visit. I’d like to give a special thanks to Younes, who went above and beyond to help us access the clay tennis court, despite it being closed due to heavy rainfall the day before. He truly made an effort to accommodate us, ensuring we had a fantastic tennis experience. Highly appreciated!
