Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas

Having stayed at Elounda Beach Hotel and Villas a number of times in recent years - and left 5* reviews - it is very pleasing to say that this most recent stay was no different. It is, without doubt, an exceptional experience. and cannot be faulted. The accommodation is superb, the restaurants and bars a delight, the setting, its grounds and the wider facilities are amazing, well maintained and perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. But most of all it is the quality of the staff which make this such a special place Throughout the site every member of the team are a joy. From housekeeping through restaurant staff, the grounds maintenance team, reception and management members, they are all great to be in contact with. Everything with a smile! They are all a great credit to the resort. Whilst it would be difficult to name all those who provided us with such really good service, we must mention both Maria and Johanna at Reception who greeted us on our arrival and who arranged restaurant reservations, taxi bookings, and gave general advice and help. It is also most important to mention Ms Lia Prentza the Guest Loyalty Manager who not only made the initial arrangements and booking for our stay through the loyalty scheme, but kept in contact with us whilst we were there. The loyalty scheme provides a range of benefits to repeat customers, including airport transfers, special rates for services on site and a guarantee of a reservation for a particular room or villa. Lia managed all of that on our behalf with great efficiency - and like all her colleagues with a lovely smile! All in all we had a wonderful stay and will be returning in September for our next visit and we know we will be assured a 5* trip.

The hotel is in an ideal setting and the staff without exception are wonderful. The breakfast is to die for and lacks for nothing in a lovely setting. However, the hotel is a huge empty space full of lovely comfortable sofas with no-one there. We were upgraded to a deluxe room in the spa building, but it was very dated and we felt we were in an annexe. The bathroom was very modern and lovely. The switches in the room had mostly lost their names, leading to us inadvertently pushing the 'do not disturb' button twice in trying to find the main light switch, so that our room wasn't serviced. The main problem with the hotel was that the four restaurants were spread round the grounds and the walk was very windy, even if we took one of the carts. The restaurants were all open air, so ladies do not bother to do your hair before having dinner! As well as the journey there, my hair was blown all over during every meal. Each night it seemed that one restaurant was closed, or had a private party and as we don't like sushi that restaurant was not an option. It seems a shame that the lovely room used for breakfast was not in use for other meals. We did not go to the Cretan evening as it seemed outrageous that we had to pay and additional 65 euros each for it when we were already half board. After dinner we would go back to the main hotel building where there is a bar, but no-one was there on any night during our 7 night stay, so we ended up going to bed early. The pool area was quiet and we had excellent service from the pool bar. The prices of the drinks throughout were expensive. I don't like to be so negative and overall we had a pleasant week but there were several disappointing aspects.

Vilos, Andie, and Ioanna are SUPERB!!! This place made my memories to last a lifetime for my family and I. I truly cannot thank the staff and property for this incredible experience.

The perfect place. Staff were so nice and friendly , Joanna was so welcoming and brilliant . All the staff made this holiday great. It’s a quiet resort but that’s what we wanted . So organised for the beach and sun loungers. The resort is just beautiful.

Very disappointed with the room we were allocated at this so called leading hotel of the world member. A premier inn would be better appointed than what we were given, and it was not the cheapest room that we paid for (we paid about £400 per night for this). Gauling as we know other couples have enjoyed superior accommodation for a week in bungalows for £2000 for two including flights. The rooms in the spa building are not just dated but archaic with random pieces of furniture in the room that spanned various decades and not the 2020s. This part of the hotel is definitely not as well maintained as other areas just feels neglected. Staff are pleasant enough but this is a hotel of two halves and sadly we weren’t allocated to the maintained side. No doubt there will be glowing reports of you are fortunate enough to be at the other side and anyone on the other half will be unlikely to see the sad looking gardens or rooms. Be very careful about which rooms you book.
