The Elounda Peninsula offers a luxurious and relaxing getaway in Crete with elegant villas, each equipped with private pools and terraces. There is also an exceptional spa and a number of fine dining restaurants, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and celebration. The service is exceptional, and the staff are friendly and accommodating – nothing is too much trouble, and they will all go the extra mile to make your stay special. We were greeted warmly with a short tour of the facilities with suggestions of what the hotel could help with should we wish to explore some Crete delights – which we did. The hotel arranged a driver and transport for us at our request to allow for a more relaxed tour of the Knossos Palace and the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, which is around an hour from the hotel but well worth the trip. My wife and 2 adult daughters stayed in a Presidential Villa, which was spacious and beautifully furnished. When we walked into the terrace area, I was impressed by the overall space on offer, across three levels and with steps leading down to a private (rocky) sunbed spot just a few feet from the sea. My family enjoys fine dining, and we were well look after in this area. Breakfast was leisurely and delicious in the Calypso Restaurant with a la carte choices rather than the buffet style that’s often provided these days. Panos and his team were warm and inviting providing a great start to each and every day. We only went to 2 of the restaurants available, these being Sumosan and Il Borro and both are outstanding. Il Borro is a Tuscan Bistro styled restaurant situated on the waterfront and next to the small harbour of the hotel. The dishes on offer reflect the style and taste of the Tuscan region but be warned that if you order the T-bone Fiorentina steak you will need to share with someone – it’s huge! Sumosan is part of the world-renowned group and is exceptional. The restaurant is tucked away on the peninsula overlooking the Aegean sea on a rocky outcrop which adds to magic of this restaurant. On a few nights it was a little windy and the sea was a little ‘frisky’ so if you sit at a table close to the sea you might get an occasional small splash, but this just added to the theatre of the place and our enjoyment. Panos, the manager and Dzanos were on hand to offer suggestions and to help us explore the exceptional wines that Greece has to offer. My tastebuds were delighted by a number of very fine wines and I’m grateful for their knowledge and efforts to make our dining experience exceptional, which it was. The spa services were also exceptional; you will be impressed by the grandeur and serenity that exists in this facility. My daughters, wife and I enjoyed a few massages and other spa services on offer, whilst also enjoying a relaxed swim in the pool overlooking the bay with the Aegean Sea beyond. I would definitely suggest that the use of the Spa should be part of any stay here. All in all, delightful staff and a heavenly place; an affordable and accessible paradise. I’m already looking forward to our next stay here!

From beginning to end the experience was amazing. Picked up at airport before baggage claim / the gentleman collected our cases & escorted us to car. Car journey spot on / we were given water & asked if we were comfortable & we needed air adjusting. Reception at hotel was first class exceptional welcome & guide around (I think we were first guests of the season) the room was 2 levels was spotless, the bed amazing oversized superking with fab linens choice of pillows & plentiful towels. House keeping fantastic with very polite staff. Pool spotless / not heated but not too cold. We were b&b and breakfast was very very good with great panoramic views of the peninsular. Again all staff in dining room attentive & nothing was a problem. We dined in the Italian restaurant on site (although we were desperate for Greek food) & the staff were exceptional. The food excellent. We only dined there once as we really wanted Greek food , so got a taxi every evening to the village where there is a huge choice of restaurants with really relaxed atmosphere. On the morning of leaving we checked out with ease even though very early they picked our bags up & had prepared us a ‘packed breakfast’ for our journey! Unexpected but very welcomed as we had a long boat journey. First class hotel a pleasure to visit & a definate re visit & recommendation.

I always jot down reviews at the time but I am a bit late putting on Trip Advisor. This was an excellent hotel. Very welcoming when we arrived with a glass of bubbles, which went down very well after a long journey. Reception was very friendly and so helpful showing us around the complex. We had a junior suite with pool beach villa. Our room was wonderful and situated in a great place looking out to the sea. I would definitely recommend this room. Lovely to have the pool to step into but also you can walk down a couple of steps and you are on the private hotel beach. Our villa was shady, which was good but if you did want to get in sun I bought a lilo and floated in the pool which was in the sun or you can go down to the many sunbeds dotted around. The breakfast room was wonderful and there was a beautiful view. There was a special touch with having Buck’s Fizz at breakfast as well. One evening there was a Greek night with dancers and musicians. They were all very good and there was a great atmosphere. The one thing I would say is we booked to go at 8 thinking it was like England and a couple of hours for table so the hot food had got a bit cold. You actually had the table for whole night, so we could have booked earlier. I went to the spa and had a fantastic massage. It is expensive but it is totally worth it. It is a fantastic venue with a great view. The town is less than 10 minutes up the road and a great place with lots of restaurants and shops. There are lots of other places in surrounding areas to explore. I would definitely recommend this place to stay and hopefully we will return again.

We were lucky enough to spend a wonderful week here last week. The location is superb and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff are so attentive and get to know within a few hours of your arrival. We have to mention Vasia and Manos in reception who were always willing to help in whatever way they could, Stavros at breakfast and in Il Borro, who was always there with a smile on his face and Oleksander on the beach who was really efficient and friendly. We had an amazing split level suite with our own pool and this really exceeded our expectations. The room was serviced twice a day and was immaculate. We ate in Il Borro twice which was delicious but the best meal was at the sister hotel, Elounda Mare, the Friday evening fish night, this is not to be missed. Fantastic! Breakfast was in a beautiful room overlooking Miabello Bay and was exactly how we like breakfast, quiet and civilised with an extensive menu. All in all we had the best time and can’t wait to come back.

Amazing location but the service was second to none. Beautifully appointed suites, great food and plentiful water/beachside lounge chairs and umbrellas. The staff made you feel that you were the only ones staying there. A great spa and short nine hole course - everything you can ask for from a great resort.
