I got athlete's foot from the Shower. I live alone, so no one uses my shower but me. I gave a lot of low marks because of this 22% Service fee that was not disclosed when dining or room service. I got the double Bill Fixed but had to call a few times to do it.

Last summer, there was an issue with our stay. We came with our friends and the management asked to give the hotel another try so we came (without our friends) for the weekend. 1. Check in (John) and the valet service were excellent. 2. The room location is so so. Outside the balcony, there is a huge air vent on the ground and can hear the sound. Also situated on the 2nd floor and people above were moving furniture and the sound of walking on heels can be heard. Could not sleep. 3. The dinner situation was a disaster as had to wait 30 minutes after the reservation time and another hour to be served. The server was nice and gave us complimentary food but the wait time was ridiculous especially the restaurant was not fully booked. 4. First day of breakfast was a disaster as well. The receptionist was not communicating well and did not try to accommodate our request. 5. The management of the restaurant is very poor and the director level management over promised and did not deliver what was offered. Such a beautiful property and the service could be so much better at the restaurant and overall reception to a returning Hyatt member guests. It is not to the level that Alila claims to offer.

i checked into my room 159 and killed 2 food flies, filled out their survey on how well the room was, notifying them on food flies, they offered to send room service instead of moving us to a new room.. i don’t think they understand how food flies work. i made vaga reservation 2 months a head of time for my wife’s birthday, the hostess/manager seats us in regular table when the restaurant not even at 50% capacity and tells me “no this is your table” when i asked to sit over there, i had to ask a second time to be moved. since it was my wife’s birthday i chose not to get angry and ruin her day, next day killed 2 more food flies in the bathroom.. got fed up and canceled my spa reservation and requested to check out a day early. i booked my 3 night reservation with credit card points and maybe thats why they treated us like 2nd class customers? with the basic room on the 1st floor side of the building overlooking the parking lot.. I’m sitting on 5million credit card points that i cant use fast enough.. or maybe hyatt hotels just suck? top rated category luxury hotel in hyatt portfolio… felt BASIC.. vaga food was 5/5 ate here twice definitely would recommend to stop in for food if your in the area, bar could use a bit of class, felt like it was set to serve college kids, all bottom shelf liquor not a single bottle of allocation bourbon or scotch.. fyi macallan 12 is not top shelf…

Our stay at the Alila Marea Beach Resort was exquisite. We were met by extremely friendly and helpful valets and the check in was smooth. In minutes we were entering our room on the top floor and took in the gorgeous views of the ocean and pool. We enjoyed breakfast at the Vaga restaurant the next morning out on their balcony. Every effort was made to make our stay there relaxing.

The hotel is probably great for couples. It really is beautiful and the rooms are wonderful. It is not family friendly at all. You have to sign a behavioral contract on behalf of your kids. It is 2 people max even in large rooms with 2 queen beds. So if there are more than two of you, even if children you have to book additional rooms. Great for singles and couples. It should just be an adults only hotel.
