Perched atop a stunning coastal bluff extending along one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in Southern California, our property offers magnificent and one-of-a-kind panoramic views of the shimmering Pacific Ocean and adjoining Batiquitos Lagoon. This proximity not only inspires our décor, it influences every aspect of our guest experience, from colorful activities to enchanting programming. And having the ocean just steps away from our door and open beach access provides us with a unique opportunity to be stewards of one of California’s greatest natural attractions: the Pacific Ocean. Senses spoiled, wellness discovered, occasions celebrated. Experience it all at Alila Marea Beach Resort. Indulge at the ocean-front pool deck, take in the culinary journey at VAGA restaurant, or find your zen at Spa Alila. You can also invigorate your wellness in our fully-equipped gym, ride the Electra Go! bikes, or take a walk along the sandy beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alila Marea Beach Resort to celebrate our valentine day together. We had a great time and really enjoyed its amenities.

Loved it! Romantic location & close to downtown Carlsbad. Lots of amenities that we didn't have time to enjoy this stay. We plan on going back in the near future.

Loved the resort and the views. Did not like the fact that the company flew us in and we got their around noon and though we realize that there is a check out/in time, that we had ti wait until about 4pm to get our room. At check in we were lead to beleive that they were advancing the time we could get into our room, since we had arrived and checked in. After 2 hrs of waiting we came back to check and was told that our room was cleaned and they were just waiting for a mgr/supervisor to inspect the room before we could get the room and that they would expedite that inspection. Approximately another hour went by and we checked back to see where they were at with our room, then I was told that our room is still not clean and they will let me know when it's ready. I told them that I do not understand, because I was already told that it was already cleaned. She had no explanation for me and just stated that we got an upgraded room with a fire pit... ??? Questioning an upgrade... ??? The company told us we were suppose to have an Ocean View room and ask us if we could see the ocean fromn our room. We could not see the ocean feom our room. All we saw when we looked out was the poolside chairs and umbrellas. So it is my beleief thay we did nit even get the room that we were suppose to get. It took until 3:51 pm for us to get a text that our room was done. It was really rough for me becasuse I was not feeling well and I really needed someplace to lay down. When we finally got the text and went to the front desk, they informed us that the previous quests in our room had a late check out. As you can see, everytime we talked to the front desk personal, we got different information. Later in our stay I had a pleasant conversation with Marty A. Who told me all out the surrounding area attractions and hot spots. I ran into him again at the pool on Saturday (2/14). There were no towels sunblock or water avaliable and a good amount of people out on the pool deck at that time. This is about the 10am to 10:30am time frame. Marty did not know who was responsible, but he handled stocking all the towels, brining me and my husband towels right to our chairs, over heard me say thay I forgot.my water in the room and he hand delivered me a bottle of water (did not even have to ask for it). He also put out sunblock & ice water, and filled the Ice Bath with Ice. He was truly focused on the customer and providing the best he could even if it was not necessarily his job. Our interactions with the valet and wait staff have all been favorable over the entire duration of out stay.

The location, rooms, and staff at Alila Encinitas are up to par. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not worth the price. This property operates much like any other Hyatt, meaning it frequently hosts large corporate events. My fiancee and I booked a three-day stay as a quiet Valentine’s getaway after I had to travel for work. We were hoping for a relaxing resort and spa experience and paid top dollar for it. Instead, most of the property had been rented out for a Mazda corporate event. The hotel was filled with SUVs, film crews, social media teams, and name tagged company employees. It felt more like a production set than a luxury retreat. Hallways were busy, and large sections of the bar and common areas were reserved exclusively for the event. We both work production, it is literally the last thing we want to see on little getaway. One evening, we tried to enjoy a cocktail on the patio, only to find ourselves surrounded by employees two of whom had fallen asleep in their chairs at the bar!!!!! On our final morning, we went out to our firepit patio in our robes to enjoy the ocean view, only to have a drone flying overhead while dozens of employees and Mazada customers with over 20 cars lined up for what appeared to be test drives. It was 8am. In addition, much of the landscaping throughout the property appeared neglected. Many of the plants looked dry, unhealthy, and in need of serious attention, which further took away from the “luxury resort” atmosphere you would expect at this price point. We paid for a peaceful escape but spent most of our stay navigating around corporate activity. While the hotel refunded a portion of the resort fees, it didn’t come close to compensating for the nearly $1,700 we spent to feel like extras in a marketing shoot. This experience was completely unacceptable for a property at this price point. I strongly recommend choosing another hotel, or at least calling ahead to make sure a large corporate event won’t be taking over the property during your stay.

We will return again. Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The overall vibe exuded calmness and welcoming. The staff kind and gracious.
