Reviews for Omni La Costa Resort and Spa

Beautiful location, but the hotel/ golf experience fell short..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Like every other Omni, beautiful on the exterior and outdated on the interior. Just wasn’t worth the cost to stay or golf. Played the south course and it was in terrible shape, rough greens, sand everywhere, grass clippings all over. Saw the cart girl two times in 18 holes on a Sat. The course ran out of ice so they would not give ice for the cart coolers at the beginning or the drinks they were serving. And the room AC was not working properly along with dirty carpet. Again… outdated and just doesn’t offer what you’d expect at this price level.

Wonderful Resort Stay for Humans and Their Dogs

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Omni La Costa for Dog Days of Summer. After unexpectedly losing our senior dog after 16 years together, we wanted to enjoy some time with our 10-years together-old dog so we decided to book a night for the event, along with tickets to the Chef and Four-Legged Friends dinner. Every aspect of this hotel is so well thought out and accommodating for travelers with dogs. We were able to enjoy dinner at Bob’s Steakhouse (absolutely incredible), drinks with our dog at Bar Traza, and the phenomenal and incredibly well-curated dinner dreamt up by head chef, Emily Brubaker, whose passion for food made it clear why the dining at every location of this resort is so incredibly top notch (and her joy at contributing to the Dog Days of Summer because of her own love of dogs was the icing on the cake). I also saw a ton of fun activities for kids and the pools looked incredible. The spa and services were fantastic. I would happily book another stay even if I didn’t have my dog with me — genuinely so much to do while being an easy drive from Los Angeles. I love how many special events they offer (a Chef and Friends dining event will probably be my next visit) and the spa warrants a full day to enjoy treatments and the facility, I love that they go out of their way to offer one-of-a-kind experiences that make shaking up one’s life in SoCal worth the drive. I saw they even have a Labor Day concert with Luke Grimes performing — genuinely brilliant programming all around, and a well thought-out approach for a resort that appeals to locals and travelers near and far. A wonderful stay and I can’t wait to go back!

Not a good experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Not a good experience. I called a few days ahead of our visit and requested a feather free room due to my friend having asthma. I also reminded them when the hotel texted me a day before my arrival. We arrived at the hotel about 7:00 pm and our room was NOT feather free. We waited over an hour for our room. Then there was an issue with ordering room service and couldn’t get anyone on the phone to ask. I made three trips to the front desk to straighten it out and still have not received the refund I was told I would get. Not sure I would stay there again.

Huge disappointment for family vacation with small children

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Very disappointing stay, especially given the price. We had to move rooms three times because of odours, cleanliness concerns, and plumbing problems. Having to pack up our bags, and unpack so many times with three small children was really frustrating. Instead of enjoying our time on our summer vacation, we were left fighting with the front desk and seeking things to do away from the resort grounds due to our concerns with cleanliness and overall frustration. Our first room was extremely far from the resort amenities, faced the highway, had a large metal pipe with sharp ends outside of our patio door, and looked as though it had not been updated since the 1970s. The linens were stained and t there was a very musky odour in the room. Our second room was closer to the pool/restaurant, but the sewer backed up while we were using the shower and bathtub. The third room was the best of the three but still needed work, as everything was extremely dated. The pool area was also dirty, with hair clogging the drains. The property was nowhere near the standard we expected from an Omni resort, and we would not stay here or another Omni again.

Great Value, Better Service

it was a beautiful resort at a great value. The Customer Service from everyone was top-notch, no matter what part of the resort you were at. No matter what request we had, no one made us feel like we were a burden.

Used the Edge adult pool for the first time. This really made the trip. I loved the view, the seating, the pool and the number of jacuzzis.
