In the beautiful coastal foothills of San Diego, La Costa Resort and Spa is a destination in itself, spectacularly showcasing the best in accommodation, amenities, golf, and recreation in Southern California. Its Carlsbad address makes the resort easily accessible from San Diego or La Jolla, and a simple two-hour drive from Los Angeles. Starting with its accommodations, La Costa Resort and Spa exceeds the standard of luxury, offering guests a lush ambiance, spacious layouts, richly appointed furnishings, and oversize marble spa showers. Take in views of the courtyard, gardens, or fairways from your private terrace, accessed through window-paneled doors that let the sunshine in and bring the comfort right outdoors. Spend some time exploring the grounds of this magnificent property when you arrive, walking its floral-lined pathways, gazing over its verdant greens, and discovering the many facilities - from The Plaza Shops to the Chopra Center for yoga and meditation, and the multiple shimmering outdoor pools.

While the resort grounds were beautiful and well maintained, unfortunately room housekeeping was abysmal. We stayed in a mini suite for six days and other than tucking in the same sheets, replacing a couple towels NOTHING was done. We leave a very tidy, uncluttered room and it was obvious that when housekeeping finally came after 4 pm , counters and tabletops were untouched. Vacuuming was never done. A plastic fork was purposely left in front of the table on the fly and it stayed all week. We found multiple used contacts and old beer bottles on the surfaces that had come from previous stays. Just unacceptable.

I am old enough to remember when La Costa was a destination for the rich and famous. It is no longer that but it is a pleasant experience for a vacation, particularly for families. The rooms have been renovated but are still older. The public areas are all very nice. The room prices are reasonable. Food and beverage service was very good. If you care about the condition of the golf course, don’t sign up to play unless you walk the course. I was shocked by the condition of the course. The pricing is ridiculous. After I complained about the condition, they adjusted my fee but it should have been reduced to zero.

Wanted to love it so much but the hotel and experience left a lot to be desired. Kids club was sold out (and requires advanced reservations, which we were not told about) and the food/restaurant staffing were weak. We checked in for our breakfast reservation and were told it would take an hour for food. The buffet for the kids served cold pancakes. No food/beverage service at the pool during the day. Just a real miss overall.

We’re still on the property, but I can’t resist singing the praises of Omni La Costa! From check-in through now, everything has been so sweet, starting with the stellar staff. Special thanks to Cameron who kindly greeted us upon our arrival and upgraded our room; Emily at MarketPlace (cafe) whose attention to detail is impeccable; Jacob at VUE who served us breakfast with a smile (side note: the egg-white omelette is sensational!); Catherine in concierge services who snagged us a last minute booking at Bob’s; Angel at the front desk who graciously extended our late check out... We are in awe of the outstanding service all around! Additional notes: the grounds are lovely and deserve to be walked at a leisurely pace. Especially now with the festive holiday decorations sprinkled throughout. Housekeeping also earns kudos for keeping things tidy and clean! Although this was our first time staying at La Costa, it won’t be our last. We’re in the Carlsbad area multiple times a year and look forward already to our return visit. As the door hang-tags say: Just 5 more minutes! (You won’t want to leave!). Thank you, All!

For an exceptional stay with incredible amenities and fantastic customer service you can’t beat the Omni La Costa. A romantic staycation in California was truly a magical experience. From Roberto and Miguel are servers in VUE To Ramiro in Bar Traza and Jerry the starter on the South golf course, everyone made sure that your experience is special.

Used the Edge adult pool for the first time. This really made the trip. I loved the view, the seating, the pool and the number of jacuzzis.
