Reviews for Omni La Costa Resort and Spa

Relaxing (Hispanic Influenced) Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Resort is very family friendly and even has 21+ only pool for adults. I enjoy my spacious suite and the experience I had at the restaurants. Generally, everything was good, but I would prefer a faster service as I didn’t like to keep asking the status of my requests to waiters & waitresses and housekeeping & front desk staffs after a reasonable amount of waiting time (30+ mins)

Warm Service, Inconsistent Property Upkeep

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We visited the resort in April for a family trip, and the highlight of our stay was the friendliness of the staff. From the valets to the restaurant servers—particularly at Vue—everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. That said, we did feel that the overall condition of the grounds did not match the level of service. Certain areas appeared to be showing signs of wear and a lack of cleanliness, especially around the main pool area. On multiple occasions in the morning, dishes from the previous day were still stacked on or near garbage cans, and the pool deck and furniture did not appear sufficiently cleaned. Additionally, the pool area seemed understaffed relative to the number of guests. While the staff was clearly doing their best, service was slow and tere was often no one available to clear used towels or promptly remove plates and glassware after guests left, which further impacted the overall experience. Overall, while the staff truly stood out, improvements to the upkeep of the grounds and poolside service would have significantly enhanced our experience.

Not for families

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Over price for the resort they promote. Not worth your money the rooms are outdated and so are the pools. Everything has an extra fee hidden. Pretty boring for families mostly uptight older people.

Inattentive staff & poor communication

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Poor experience. Over two hour wait for our room to be ready, including an hour plus wait after check in time. No follow up with us during our wait or explanation for why they were behind. Kept telling us “20 more min” yet it was over an hour later before they decided to put us in a different room that was already ready. Since they were so far behind on our original room, the in room surprise for my wife’s bday never was shifted from the original room to the new one. Had to ask for water bottles at the front desk when checking in instead of getting them like everyone else. No one cleaning up used towels or empty dishes on the adult pool deck. Food scraps remained on the pool deck overnight and were still there the next morning. Rotting piece of wood on the cabanas (eyesore & more importantly dangerous). Clogged sink in hotel room that would fill with gray water when we washed hands/brushed teeth.

Used the Edge adult pool for the first time. This really made the trip. I loved the view, the seating, the pool and the number of jacuzzis.
