Reviews for Omni La Costa Resort and Spa

Bad Bedding Experience.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The resort was beautiful however upon checking into my room late in the day Monday evening, I noticed blood on my pillows. This was fresh red blood marks, not the darker shade once it’s been settled or washed without removing the stain. The pillows had dozens of small specs but fanned out like someone had sneezed with a bloody nose. I also noticed larger blood spots on the comforter (3-4). There was also blood smears in the bathroom on the tub and vanity area. I called the front desk and they did bring new bedding but it took nearly 45 minutes. I wasn’t offered a new room. I was uneasy about the cleanliness of my room for the remainder of my stay with little consideration taken by the staff.

Beautiful property, avoid room 928

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Room had a mixture of dead and live termites in it. Don't stay in room 928. First I noticed them in the bathroom, team came and vacuumed them up. The next day there were live ones on my bed. Not cool.

Beautiful Resort, but Disappointed by Bathtub Issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I booked a last-minute staycation at the Omni Carlsbad for a much-needed weekend of relaxation. First time at this property. I specifically requested a room with one of the oversized bathtubs when I booked and confirmed that request again at check-in since that was the main reason I chose this property. Unfortunately, it ended up being a disappointment. After checking in Friday evening, I unpacked all my bath goodies and was ready to unwind, only to find that the bathtub drain wouldn’t close. I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure it out before calling the operator. It took about an hour and twenty minutes for someone to arrive, but they eventually got it to close and said it was fixed. Saturday morning, I grabbed coffee and a breakfast sandwich from the Marketplace. The coffee was fine, but the sandwich was greasy and smashed. Thankfully, the staff handled it well and refunded my money without issue. The highlight of my stay was definitely the 21+ Edge Day Club pool — amazing views of the golf course, comfortable chairs, great service, and delicious drinks. I also enjoyed Bar Traza both Friday and Saturday night. The food, drinks, and service were excellent. It’s a fun sports bar atmosphere, outdoor seating with views and I even got to watch my Dodgers win the WS. Unfortunately, when I returned to my room Saturday night hoping to unwind with a bath, the drain wouldn’t close again. I tried again Sunday morning with no luck, so I called the front desk once more. This time, maintenance arrived much quicker but was still unable to fix the issue. The front desk kindly offered to waive the resort fee and parking as compensation, which I appreciated. Still, it was disappointing not to be able to use the feature I had looked forward to most all weekend. I stayed in building 2011, and by the time I checked out, maintenance was on their way to repair the bathtub. Hopefully, the next guest gets to enjoy the relaxing soak I was hoping for.

Used the Edge adult pool for the first time. This really made the trip. I loved the view, the seating, the pool and the number of jacuzzis.
