Omni La Costa Resort and Spa

We had a wonderful experience at the Omni! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was excellent. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and respectful, which made us feel very welcomed throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I especially appreciated having fresh, clean towels provided every day. The entire property is beautiful, with lush plants and trees everywhere that give the resort a peaceful, tropical feel. It truly felt like a little getaway! Another big plus was how quiet the rooms were at night. We were traveling with children, and we couldn't hear our neighbors at all, which made for a very peaceful and restful stay. The pool area was also clean and well maintained, with plenty of fresh towels readily available. We actually found the Omni somewhat last minute because we were visiting LEGOLAND and the hotels closer to the park were already booked. I'm so glad we ended up staying here! It was only about a 15-minute drive to LEGOLAND, which was very convenient for our family. Overall, we had a comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable stay. I would absolutely stay here again and would happily recommend it to families visiting the Carlsbad area or LEGOLAND.

Our event at Omni La Costa had a few challenges during the initial planning stages, but the team ultimately assigned to us completely turned the experience around. Once they took over, communication improved dramatically, details were handled professionally, and every concern was addressed promptly. A special thank you to Jim Ries and Lily Madofer, who went above and beyond to ensure our event was executed flawlessly. In the final weeks leading up to the event, Jim recognized the challenges we were experiencing and made the critical decision to reassign our event manager, which completely changed the trajectory of our experience. His leadership and willingness to take action made a tremendous difference. Lily then stepped in and seamlessly coordinated every aspect of our event, serving as an outstanding single point of contact. Her dedication, responsiveness, attention to detail, and commitment to finding solutions made the planning process significantly less stressful. Together, Jim and Lily transformed what had been a challenging planning experience into a successful and memorable event. In the end, our event was beautifully executed, our guests had a wonderful experience, and the venue itself was stunning. While there is room for improvement in the early sales process, the event team ultimately delivered and exceeded our expectations. I would gladly recommend Omni La Costa for special events.

We had such a wonderful stay at Omni La Costa and will absolutely be coming back! The resort was beautiful, clean, and incredibly well-maintained, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable, the grounds and amenities were gorgeous, and everything felt very well organized. We especially loved the America’s 250th celebration—the events were so well done and made the weekend feel extra special. From arrival to departure, we had a great experience and truly enjoyed our time here!

Great location and lovely resort. Room was quiet and perfect size for our weekend. Will stay again in the future.

Beautiful resort grounds and great kids activities overall. We had a lot of other issues, though. Early Amex check in was not honored, which caused a lot of issues for us upon arrival. We also weren’t given our Amex welcome letter explaining our benefits, and we heard differing things about our benefits depending on the staff member we asked. Same with our friends traveling with us. We were not given Omni Kids tote bags for our kids upon check in, as we were told later they ran out. Not enough shade and seating at the family pools. Broken/torn lounge chairs by the Splash pool. Lots of ants and bees up in the grass overflow area. Lifeguards didn’t seem to have a great attitude or care about enforcing rules by the slides. Kids bingo didn’t have an adequate number prizes for the kids, but they let the kids continue to play, which left them feeling disappointed. Hostess at the Vue restaurant wasn’t very friendly either time we went. Service and food there otherwise was great. Kids buffet was a nice touch, but they kept running out of food. Landscaping/watering was being done when we went for breakfast at Vue. Despite the fact that we were seated right there by the flowers, no effort was taken to go around us with watering. Housekeeping came in the room with no warning at 8am, despite having out Do Not Disturb sign and latch on the door. I asked them to come. Ack in 30 minutes and they didn’t return until 5pm when we came back to the room for dinner, having been gone for the entire day. No answer when calling operator multiple times for requests and no way to see our bill on the TV in room. Had to go down to reception to view the folio, which had me charged for both Valet and Self Parking each day.
