Located in one of Europe's most elegant tourist destinations, InterContinental Cascais-Estoril stands proudly in the affluent town of Estoril. Located on the site of the former "Atlântico Hotel", a property which became a symbol of Estoril and an important tourism legacy in Cascais, the InterContinental Cascais-Estoril respects the history and remains true to the essence of this charming place. The hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, boasting magnificent sea views and is within easy access to Lisbon. Nearby the town of Cascais, the popular Guincho beach, numerous golf courses and UNESCO World Heritage Sintra.

We enjoyed our time at the Intercontinental. We did two connecting rooms which worked well for our family. While the rooms were clean they smelled a bit like smoke when we checked in and it took a while for the smell to dissipate. The king room was as advertised “cozy” but the corner room with two beds was more spacious. We were on the same level as the pool so not much of a view from the balcony but we had booked a corner room The pool is nice but my son was disappointed when he wasn’t allowed to bring his ball in even when there was no one in the pool. The lunch by the pool was also disappointing. Breakfast is great with an amazing view of the water and good food. The staff was also very nice and turned on World Cup games for us in the middle of the night in the lobby. They would offer waters on our way out. The breakfast was gorgeous and phenomenal spread. The hotel is on the water but you need to walk a few minutes to the beach. The town of Cascais is probably close to a 20 minute walk to the part you want to spend time in. Ubers are very inexpensive though so it’s not a big deal. Assuming the smell of smoke was a one off the hotels nice and we would recommend it.

Came for a short break at Intercontinental and had an amazing dinner with amazing service from Pedro. A very polite and hard working employee who gave us great recommendation. An asset to the company.

We stayed at the InterContinental Cascais in November 2025 for the third time in four years, and once again, the experience was absolutely outstanding. The room was excellent as always, and the terrace—with its stunning sea views—remains one of our favourite parts of the stay. The service is consistently superb, and this trip was no different. A special mention to Mr. Pedro, Mr. Paolo, and Mr. Bernardo, who were exceptional throughout. The staff here truly set the hotel apart with their professionalism and warmth. The location is fantastic, and the views from the room’s terrace are simply beautiful. This time, we also tried the gym, and it was very good. Overall, I can confidently say that this is one of the best hotels in Europe. Already looking forward to our next stay!

cOn the first day of our stay, we had no hot water. We reported the issue to the front desk that evening, and it was not resolved until the middle of the following day. On the second day, I discovered that the hair dryer was not working, although it was replaced fairly quickly later that day. By the third day, we encountered another issue — this time with the cold water. No matter how the shower or sink faucet was adjusted, even on the cold setting, only extremely hot water came out. I actually burned my leg while showering. I chose not to report the issue because I did not want to appear to be someone complaining every day. Additionally, the breakfast was overpriced for the quality and variety offered. Compared to many other hotels we have stayed in, the experience did not meet five-star standards. Guests should not have to search for salt or sugar or repeatedly ask staff for coffee service. The food quality was average at best, and the omelets were bland and tasteless. Overall, some members of the staff appeared somewhat indifferent and even slightly snobbish, as though they were accustomed to catering exclusively to high-end clientele. Unfortunately, based on the numerous issues we experienced and the level of service provided, I would not consider InterContinental a true five-star hotel.

An exquisite property. Luxury, service, scale, technology, cleanliness + hospitality. Intercontinental offers it all. Very good spa experience, beautiful breakfast + ocean views and room 210 is quite nice. Great Concierge...Recommended. highly...
