With its traditional style and splendid surroundings, Palacio Estoril Hotel & Golf has been pampering guests with distinguished hospitality since the 1930s. This debonair Portuguese landmark is just 20 minutes outside Lisbon, set within beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the sea. Tastefully decorated guest rooms and suites recall the Golden Age of travel, while Restaurant Grill Four Seasons ignites the senses with its classic cuisine. A favorite haunt for spies during WWII, Bar Estoril continues to be one of the areaâ€(TM)s most intriguing cocktail hour destinations.

This stunning location has beautifully maintained its classic charm while seamlessly integrating contemporary comforts. Although the furniture is generally well-maintained, a few pieces, like the couch in the suites and dining room chairs, show signs of wear and could benefit from reupholstering. The five-night stay with breakfast was wonderful, but the breakfast options became repetitive, and we wish there were more local dishes or specialties, in addition to pastries, to add some variety to the menu.

Staggered at any negative reviews of this hotel as I have just seen posted. We have just returned from our stay and cannot praise this hotel enough. The staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating, even allowing us a very generous late check out as the hotel was quiet. The food was also first class and equaled what we have experienced at the likes of the London Hilton and Dubai Atlantis. The quality and choices were second to none. The service was unobtrusive and so professional during all meals. The ambience of the hotel reflects bygone days and has a feeling of comfort and grandeur. Many little luxurious touches were included that we have not experienced anywhere else. We tried the Spa which was lovely and free to use for hotel guests minus treatments at an extra cost. We would definitely return and stay again at this incredibly impressive hotel. Well done to all the staff that made us feel so special and valued. Special thanks to Pedro at reception and Nuno the waiter.

Second visit here and just as good as the first. Everything is lovely at the Palacio - good grounds, great (if bracing) outdoor pool, charmingly old fashioned service, comfy rooms and a decent breakfast. Stand outs are the historic atmosphere of the place, the amazingly cozy bar and the probably the best indoor pool area I’ve been to complete with what is effectively a little lazy river. Nice sauna and steam too. Location is great, a lovely stay. Only tiny negative was that our interconnecting rooms smelt a tiny bit musty (or could have been a strong cleaning fluid) but overall excellent.

Always felt welcome here in the bar at the Estoril Palacio hotel, service excellent, wine selection very good. Although I am not a cocktail expert guests who had partaken of cocktails were very impressed. Snacks available all day, evening menu very reasonably priced. A very cosy location but the staff also seemed to cope with large groups who may have suddenly appeared. Enjoy !

The building is nice and has a rich history. However, the rooms are somewhat run-down and in urgent need of renovation. We were very disapppointed by the staff and the service quality and left earlier than planned. Compared to the value you get the hotel is ridiculously overpriced. We wish the management good luck in developing the full potential of this historic place and in bringing this hotel back to 5-star level. It is going to be quite a challenge.
