With its traditional style and splendid surroundings, Palacio Estoril Hotel & Golf has been pampering guests with distinguished hospitality since the 1930s. This debonair Portuguese landmark is just 20 minutes outside Lisbon, set within beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the sea. Tastefully decorated guest rooms and suites recall the Golden Age of travel, while Restaurant Grill Four Seasons ignites the senses with its classic cuisine. A favorite haunt for spies during WWII, Bar Estoril continues to be one of the areaâ€(TM)s most intriguing cocktail hour destinations.

I stayed here with my family, early in July 2025. The hotel is unique, it is a very traditional hotel but with every modern amenity and convenience. The staff are very polite and helpful. The breakfasts are very good and plentiful. There are lots of restaurants around the hotel if you want to eat out and others a short uber ride away too. Lisbon is about 30 mins on the train, the station is a five minute walk from the hotel itself. The pool area is very well managed by the staff, we never had an issue finding somewhere to sit. The history of the hotel from the association with Ian Fleming during WW2, various royals and celebrities over the decades is very interesting. Ignore any reviews that say the hotel is in any way outdated or run down, they are complete nonsense. The spa, gym and indoor pool are in a new, separate building next to the main hotel and it is very well equipped. I would definitely stay here again.

The Palacio is a beautiful hotel with classical elegance. It is not for someone wanting a minimalist sterile hotel where oh could be anywhere in the world, but if you want a beautiful individual hotel where the staff care greatly about what they do and are there to assist you with anything you need, it is the hotel for you. They have retained the high quality service and extras that you would expect from a 5* hotel, such as doormen on the front door to greet you each time you enter or leave the hotel, a turn down service at night, a bar with friendly and engaging staff and classic drinks made very well, and food in the restaurant which is incredibly good and well presented. We ate breakfast there everyday which had a great selection. We also ate in the terrace restaurant which was beautiful and the food was delicious. The summer menu was very well priced and the staff in the restaurant were wonderful. The facilities are excellent and well maintained and it is lovely to see the history of the hotel and the images of royalty and celebrities who have stayed there over the decades. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed, including high quality products. The location was ideal for us as you can get the train to Lisbon or Cascais from the station very close by and it is also close to the golf course which you can use the complimentary shuttle to from the hotel. The spa is also lovely and my family used it a great deal. It was one of the best holidays we have been on and was prefect with our older children as we could all have the flexibility to be together or go out to the shops or spa if we wanted to separately. We loved sitting in the bar every evening and having cocktails and playing games. We just loved the whole hotel and its history, and the exceptional level of service that other hotels simply don’t offer anymore. We will definitely return to this beautiful, historic hotel.

Sadly we didn’t stay here this time but after visiting the Bar Estoril, also know as the spy bar and the bougainvillea terrace restaurant, we are planning to on our next visit to the area The staff are so lovely and welcoming and we were lucky to meet José who was in ‘on her majesty’s secret service’ with George Lazenby - he’s so proud of his hotel and it’s heritage The food was beautiful and it was so nice to sit poolside and enjoy the gorgeous landscaping.

I had the best nights sleep in years! Not sure if it was the perfect temperature, comfy bed and wonderful pillows, or if it was because I felt so relaxed and well looked after. Palácio Estoril has an elegance which only a hotel with this history can achieve. Every member of staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. It feels refined but not stuffy. The pool area is gorgeous as well, we had the most outstanding lunch in the restaurant overlooking the pool… a buffet, but with small plates, every one a taste sensation colourful and full of flavour - the octopus salad was outstanding. Dinner was so good… the chef needs to be congratulated. Thank you for an amazing experience, I can’t wait to return.

This was a very enjoyable experience. The customer service here is excellent. The hotel looks like a palace and the rooms are very cute. The pool is also very beautiful and the spa is very luxurious. What stood out about this hotel was the excellent customer service everybody from the maids to the front desk are just a very friendly and very happy people. I would highly recommend staying here me and my husband had a wonderful timeand they were very sweet and let us check out a little bit later which really helped as we were tired from a long journey. The downtown is also very close which meant that this location was really excellent. There is a lot of history here.
