First things first, this is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel and yes, we would stay again, given the chance. We spent a week here from 14 June-21 June 2025 and had a standard room, 323. I must say that 99% of the staff were excellent and friendly, apart from the 1 person on reception (young male) who checked us out on 21 June! He didn't even ask if we'd enjoyed our stay and gave no word of encouragement to return. He did not even smile! I do not know his name otherwise I would name and shame-he let the side down. We had paid an extra 50 Euros for a 4pm check-out and, when we came down to reception with our luggage, I asked for the room bill (lunches, bar drinks etc), to which he gave me the amount I owed verbally, without even giving me a paper bill to check! Of course, I asked him for this and was given one. I really wish he had been friendly like all the other staff at the hotel as I would not be writing this now..........and I would have given a higher rating overall. Ok, let me say that the pool guys were exceptional. They work so hard, especially when it's windy, putting up umbrellas and handing out towels, putting out beds etc, some days only one person was on. The people who run the pool meals were very good too, especially Mirella. Try the salads: prawns (more like langoustines -huge), nicoise, and chicken. They were all very good and worth the 17-20 euros each. All the concierges were SO friendly especially Diogo (who has worked there a very long time) and his son. They were especially helpful and charming, along with the doorman. I do have a bugbear when it comes to saving the planet and re-using bath towels. There is a note in the bathroom recommending we reuse them and, every day we put them on the rail above the bath to reuse, as per the request card. But, every day, Housekeeping provided us with fresh towels, which defeats the object, doesn't it? This hasn't only just happened at this particular hotel, of course, it's happened to us all over the world in different hotels. Furthermore, every day we asked for more English Breakfast tea-bags to be provided in our room (there were only 2 along with a mixture of others on the first day). Once, I mentioned this oversight to the breakfast room staff and they immediately sent up a colleague with a tray full of English Breakfast tea bags along with sachets of white sugar, which I had asked for. The very next day, the tray was removed and we were back to square one! Even the cups and saucers were removed on 2 of the days. It became a bit of a joke between the lovely staff at breakfast and myself. For a 5 star hotel, I would expect for basic things like this to be done properly. The bar staff were also really friendly. The final thing I would like to mention is that the hotel exterior is in need of some basic maintenance. Due to the colour, it is showing a lot of dirt on the walls, which needs to be cleaned/repainted. Also the external facia above the Bouganvillia Terrace Room definitely needs an upgrade. Overall, we had a lovely week. I only mention shortcomings as they need to be addressed.

Beautiful hotel, very good service. The room we were staying was a bit small, but it was cozy. I really didn’t like the pillows, they would become very flat once you put your head on. Breakfast buffet was very good with a lot of choice. I really like the waiters white uniform. Tip for hotel: definitely need to upgrade the old chairs. The sponge inside was wear off and the wood inside the chair was kind of pushing to your legs. The outdoor pool was very nice, with a lot of sun beds around. The spa was wonderful with nice big pool and all kind of hydro massage stations. I didn’t like the attitude of one employee at the spa when I asked for the towel. He asked me if I am a guest at the hotel. I told him that I am and he said that I might be also from working personal next door, which I find it was rude. Before entering the SPA you are already being asked which room number, so no need for the towel personnel to double check… We were also told that if we want to have a supper at Four Seasons we have to book in advance, but the concierge didn’t specify that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. When we decided to book the day before we were leaving we were being told that it will be closed. Overall it was very good stay and I definitely recommend it.

A wonderful trip with every part of our visit 5 star. Accommodation, service and food - everything had attention to detail which was amazing. The golf courses were ideal, time spent at the pool relaxing and friendly efficient staff provided us with everything we needed. Even though the hotel was busy there was no decrease in quality. Food and drink were first class in all the different parts of the hotel including the golf club. Great advice and assistance from the concierge staff made everything so easy. We can’t wait to return and we definitely will be back.
