It's not a 5-star hotel and seriously needs updating

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This is not a five-star hotel by any means. The reception area was very welcoming, but on closer inspection, needed updating. As we walked to our room, I noticed how dark and outdated the corridors were.At this point, I was starting to have concerns for what our room would be like . I booked a Superior swim up and was pleasantly surprised by how big the room was . Sadly, the room also needs updating as it appears a tad dated with badly scuffed furniture. You could clearly see where the reported water damage had affected the condition of the whole suite . This is a very large hotel which can appear soulless in the evenings . Be prepared for a hefty bill at the end of your stay as the drinks and restaurants are very expensive. I would, however, like to praise the professional attitude of the guys who work the pool bar in the quieter pool . They worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed, and the drinks were amazing . A special shout out to Andre, who was there on work placement. He is a star. Perhaps happy hour might encourage people to stay at the hotel rather than go into Villamora.

Lovely hotel near to Vilamoura Marina

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Lovely hotel and pool area, perfect for a few days in the sun! Breakfast was also good with a range of items to eat. Hotel provides a shuttle to Vilamoura Marina about 4 times a day which is good if you want to go there for dinner, alternatively an uber is only about 6 euros! We were very appreciative of the daily complimentary water in the room however, our only improvement would have been stronger air conditioning in the room itself.

Disappointing Stay - Not a 5 Star, Unless you’re an influencer!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our stay at Hotel Victoria Golf Resort Vilamoura was incredibly disappointing. The biggest issue was the shocking level of customer service from the reception staff. They displayed very little professionalism, warmth, or basic people skills. In contrast, the staff at the entrance who welcomed guests were the only genuinely pleasant and helpful members of the team we encountered. They were an asset to the hotel! Before our arrival, I emailed the hotel and requested a small gesture for our stay. Not only was nothing arranged, but the welcome we received was cold and indifferent and no mention of my email. What made this even more frustrating was seeing the hotel’s social media channels showcasing gifts and special treatment being given to influencers, while paying guests appear to be an afterthought. Our room’s air conditioning was broken for the entire stay. I reported the issue and had to follow up a second time because nobody updated us or informed us whether anything had been done. The problem was never fixed. When I approached reception again, I was met with a condescending response: “Have you tried shutting the door?” This was hardly the level of service I would expect from a 5-star resort. We were also told that we would receive a call if our room became available before the official check-in time of 3pm. No call came. We didn’t receive a call before 3pm, nor at 3pm, despite being told we would be contacted. Housekeeping standards were also poor. Our room repeatedly ran low on basic essentials such as toilet roll and toiletries, requiring us to continually check whether supplies had been replenished. Finally, when checking out, nobody asked how our stay had been, whether everything was satisfactory, or even offered a polite farewell. There was absolutely no interest in guest feedback or customer satisfaction. This hotel markets itself as a luxury 5-star resort, but our experience was far from luxury. Poor communication, unresolved maintenance issues, indifferent reception staff, and a general lack of customer care left us feeling completely undervalued as guests. Personally I feel they should focus more on their customers than influencing.

Beautiful Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful resort. Great service throughout even though at times housekeeping can be very slow in bringing things to the room. Rooms were nice and big. We had a room with balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was good, huge option. Complementary breakfast on the weekends for platinums and above. They had a few restaurants catering different cuisines. Location wise wouldn’t be a problem if you had a car. Otherwise you have to find a way to the resort after arriving at the closest train station. They provide free valet parking for those with a car.

Girls trip.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stayed here on girls trip celebrating friends birthday. Stunning hotel, spotlessly clean and high standards throughout. Rooms are spacious and very quiet. Even when not requested linen and towels changed daily. Pool area clean and staff work exceptionally hard all day constantly wandering around being attentive and clearing away. Breakfast was plentiful and as much choice as you could ask for. Great stay and would highly recommend.
