So just returned from our 6th visit to the grand old lady of Fiji. Yes, there is work needed to be done around the hotel as there some issues, but they are working at it. It is still a lovely relaxing holiday made all the more special by the wonderful staff. Shout out to Semi in the Takali, Laoto our housekeeper and Napoleon on the front lobby as well as too many to mention. Everyone just goes out of their way to help you which makes the experience so much more special. My wife has a back problem so our room 525 was perfect located next to the Takali restaurant and pool made access easy. Will we back, of course we will. Just remember it is not a major city in Australia, it is Fiji. Just go with Fiji time, relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the resort.

Our stay at the Shangri-La Yanuca Island Resort in Fiji was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine Fijian hospitality. The entire property is stunning — crystal-clear waters, beautifully kept gardens, and the perfect mix of relaxation and fun activities. A huge thank-you to Joe and Marley, who made our experience unforgettable. Their friendliness, attention to detail, and care for every guest truly stood out. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and their positive energy made every day brighter. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was delicious (especially the local dishes), and the resort had something for everyone — from snorkeling and kayaking to peaceful beach walks at sunset. We couldn’t recommend this resort highly enough. If you’re looking for a place that captures the magic of Fiji and makes you feel like part of the family, this is it. Five stars all the way!

My family and I had a lovely and relaxing seven night stay here. The resort is huge. Be prepared to walk around for a long while in the heat to get from place to place. We had our breakfast mainly at the Takali and it was a fantastic buffet breakfast. They may sit you straight in the sun so be prepared for that. The pools and beach are fantastic and there is plenty of equipment to use and we didn't find it too hard to get a deck chair each day. We went to a super market on way and stocked up on noodles, eggs (we cooked them in room kettle), museli bars, chips and drinks and that was our lunch. We ate our dinner mostly outside the resort at Flying Fish, The Junction and Geckos. Geckos has a live show on certain nights and all restaurants were great value. You book over Facebook messenger and Flying Fish has a complimentary pick up and drop off service from the resort. The others charge a nominal fee. You will need cash for these restaurants. There is an ATM in the resort. There is no coin operated laundry and I took a bottle of laundry liquid and washed clothes in the shower and dried on the chairs outside. This is a lovely resort with nice staff, but you need to be prepared to hunt for everything you need. We never got face cloths. Sugar is hard to find at breakfast. The milk runs out at the buffet. You room will be made up exactly at the time you want to return to it to have a shower. They often didn't supply us with bath mats, water or hand towels and if you ring for it, they will only bring half of what you need. Be prepared to not have any of your needs anticipated. I asked for rice three times at dinner once I had already ordered it and it never came. They charged me for it though. I tried to order my daughter dessert one night and they said to order it later as they will forget it. It is a nice stay, but it did feel a bit amateur hour most of the time. I think if you know this going in, you will have a much nicer stay.

Bula! We’ve just returned from a 5-day stay and honestly can’t say enough kind words about the incredible staff — especially the lovely female duty manager (on Friday, 24/10). I’m so sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she went above and beyond to help arrange an emergency repair with the tailor after a wardrobe disaster — all fixed in under an hour before a wedding! You were amazing, thank you so much. 💛 We also booked a couples massage at Chi, The Spa, and what a gorgeous retreat it is. Our therapists, Liviana and Shaline, were absolutely wonderful — the massage was fantastic and deeply relaxing. As a massage therapist myself, I can wholeheartedly recommend visiting the spa. The treatment rooms are beautifully designed and create the perfect sense of calm. Vinaka for an unforgettable experience! Kim and Mar Batty🌺
