Stay amid one of the largest private gardens in the city, bordered by an ornate villa and Renaissance palazzo. Take in centuries-old art or fashions hot off the runway. Now is the time...the city is yours.

The gardens are beautiful but I was not able to walk in them because of the stone pathways. Make sure you get a garden view. We did not book the correct room because our view was awful - a dingy alley. The spa was wonderful. The massage therapist, Valentina, was superb. I had the best breakfasts of my life. All the breakfast servers, especially Connor, were amazing. We were in Florence to visit out granddaughter and wanted to treat her to the excellent breakfast in our favorite restaurant so I made reservations so we could be assured of that room. Unfortunately when we arrived (on time) to breakfast there was no table available for us. Our choices were to sit in the hallway or outdoors ( it was 50 degrees outside). Such a letdown for a breakfast that cost us well over $200. Eventually we were seated in another room by ourselves. It was disappointing as I had heard how wonderful the service was. I think guests staying there for more than a week and eating most of their meals there should be assured a table that they reserved. If one reserves a table it should be there for them. Also although there was minestrone on the room service menu we were unable to ever receive it at the restaurant for dinner. This made no sense to me. We were seldom offered water to go when leaving for an outing which I think was poor. Upon returning home after dinner one night we were instructed (very strongly) to go to the front desk. We just wanted to return to our room but were not allowed to until we finally told them our name and room number. I guess we didn’t look fancy enough? This left a very bad impression on me. In conclusion, although the food was wonderful and the room was huge I could not help but compare it to the JW Marriotts we have stayed at where we are always felt welcome and appreciated. A little too snobbish for my taste. Our next visit to Florence will be at a Marriott property.

A dream-like experience, every perspective is stunning. One feels like a guest in a royal palace of the past, yet the property is smartly outfitted with modern technology. The staff is gracious and competent. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

I preface this review by stating that I have been fortunate enough to have stayed in 31 Four Seasons hotels across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa - this hotel easily ranks among the very best. The location itself is beautiful - the stunning gardens; close but far enough from the city center. The rooms are large, well-maintained and luxurious. The lobby, various guest areas are stunningly apoointed… The hotel bar is absolutely beautiful, serving a range of food on demand should one wish to avoid going to the formal restaurant. Finally, a big thank you to the Concierge for arranging delivery in Rome of a medication pack that they had misplaced upon check-in! Words don’t do justice to the level of service of this hotel. Truly memorable! Thank you!

The Four Seasons in Florence was another top experience. I usually start reviews with the staff, who were definitely wonderful, attentive, helpful and very professional. But the highlight of this hotel has to be the hotel itself. It is like entering a beautiful palace or museum. You could spend days just exploring the hotel and the grounds (in fact, one afternoon we went to the Boboli Gardens only to realize we should have just stayed in the gardens at the Four Seasons). Not one to review pools, but this one was in a beautiful area. Again, the staff were wonderful, especially the concierge staff who helped with last minute dinner reservations one night and the Atrium Bar staff where we ended up dining two nights because the food was so good (sea food club!). We had a huge suite with plenty of closet space and very large bathroom and a patio where we ate one night. I cannot make a negative comment and would love to return, but if you are looking for a hotel right downtown please know that it is about a 15 minute walk. Otherwise, this hotel is perfect.
