Four Seasons Hotel Firenze

The hotel is in a very random location, however when you see the grounds you’ll understand why. The gardens are absolutely pristine. The hotel itself is an absolute masterpiece and to look at its stunning. The staff are super friendly and we were taken on a tour of the hotel and shown some of the amazing suites, which were amazing. The hotel suite I had was absolutely breathtaking. I requested a red themed suite before I arrived and they provided exactly that. I’ve never stayed in such a luxurious suite in all my life and I’ve stayed at some amazing properties, but this suite was gorgeous and extremely relaxing. It almost felt like a small apartment. The grounds of the hotel make it feel really relaxing and you would realise it’s in the middle of a city. The hotel facilities such as the gym, spa and pool are all located in the gardens as well as some of the restaurants. I made some great friends here and I’ll definitely be back again.

**Beautiful property, but a disappointing Four Seasons experience** We had a pleasant stay overall, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff were generally attentive and accommodating, and we appreciated the room upgrade and thoughtful in-room amenities. However, several aspects fell noticeably below what we have come to expect from Four Seasons, particularly after excellent stays at other Four Seasons properties around the world. There were issues with breakfast, including an orange juice that did not appear fresh, and eggs being prepared with butter despite our request otherwise. Dinner was also disappointing, with the fish dishes we ordered having an unpleasant smell and not seeming to be of the quality or freshness expected at this level. The most disappointing experience was the spa. I had specifically asked for a gentle massage, yet the treatment was excessively rough and left me feeling more tense rather than relaxed. When I raised this with the front desk, I was offered a 50% reduction and asked to “meet halfway”. The issue was never about the money — it was about how the situation was handled. Importantly, we did not simply leave a negative review. We took the time to write to Four Seasons directly and explain the issues in detail. Natan Sansone, Director of Rooms, responded personally, apologised and invited us to speak with him so he could better understand the experience and address our concerns. Unfortunately, despite further correspondence and our willingness to have that conversation, it never ultimately happened. Months later, we received another response offering to assist with future Four Seasons stays, including a potential visit to Desroches, but without any meaningful resolution to what had happened in Florence. That is perhaps what disappointed us most. We had been seriously considering making Four Seasons our preferred luxury hotel brand after our excellent experiences elsewhere. Instead, our experience in Florence significantly changed that view. The hotel is beautiful and there are many good things to say about the team, but for us, the experience — and particularly the handling of the issues afterwards — did not reflect the standard we associate with Four Seasons. Unfortunately, Florence is not somewhere we would currently feel comfortable recommending.

I have reviewed this property previously but always feel compelled to speak to it again following a stay. We are very fortunate to stay at many beautiful places which allows for comparative perspective. This is not a normal hotel. It is not a normal Four Seasons. The staff are exceptional. From the concierge desk (Nicola meticulously took care of us) to the restaurants (they are beyond the pale amazing at breakfast) - everyone is shockingly well trained. They are impeccably gracious and attentive. It does not feel cloying - nor does it feel disingenuous. The hallmark of incredible service is making the guest feel your sincerity - irrespective as to the existence of it. Nothing wrong with that - provided that you achieve it. They achieve it here with ease. The property is as beautiful as one could hope for. The grounds and common areas are stunning. It is not inexpensive - ok, it is expensive. But it is the rare expense that you at least feel that you are receiving value for the expense. Personally I could not stay elsewhere in Florence - once staying here you are ruined for any other accommodation. I should note that while some of the guests may be far from ideal (at the pool where inconsiderations from some entitled guests (such as cell phone discussions, watching videos on their phone and cigar smoking) are quite annoying), everything else at the Four Seasons Florence is ideal. This continues to be, in my view, a truly preeminent and remarkable property.

We have stayed at FS Firenze a few times, and it is just beautiful and each time we return it is even better than the time before. This time my only regret is that I did not book for a longer stay - a week or so. It is a vintage hotel of real heritage and soul, one of the best in the world. Creating a luminous magic and comfort for the guest. The service and staff are beyond compare. Every guest feels so treasured and cared for. Every detail is taken care of. I can not tell you how much I adore this hotel, and I am already planning a returning visit. I miss Florence, and long to return.

This must be the greatest city hotel in the world. The balance of the backyard garden and pool with the easy walking distance to the heart of the city, makes you feel like you’re in a true Oasis nestled in the the birth place of art. The “ renaissance” of the city permeates through the walls and gardens of the hotel. You wake up feeling inspired in gorgeous, warm, cozy yet inspiring rooms. A four seasons bed can never disappoint, as it a cloud that envelops you. The staff are excellent- dedicated, caring, personable - willing to always get to know you and customize your stay. They pay attention, create a kind environment, and are genuinely interested in making sure you have the greatest time there, I have been to many hotels and had diverse experiences, and I can say that this staff care. The location is unmatched. I look forward to visiting again.
