The Excelsior, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Florence

Perfect choice for staying in Florence! Overlooking the Arno this historic mansion was once the home of Napoleon's sister. Right next door is the church where she (and Botticelli!!!) were buried. Amazing mansion full of art and architecture with elegantly appointed rooms with all the high end amenities you expect in a fully luxury hotel. The stand out here is the service! The concierge has the answer to all your needs and service you with enthusiasm and professionalism...we were especially impressed with Cloudio and Elia who went out of their way to enhance our stay. Guest Services was also tantamount to making our stay perfect. We were so impressed with Beatrice who went above and beyond in every instance and always had ways to make our stay memorable! She suggested the Florentine craft of marbling class by Riccardo Luci (located within easy walking distance of the hotel) and it was amazing! The location is wonderful...you are close to the Ponte Vecchio and easy walking to most of the attractions in Florence. You also have so many Trattorias around you for many choices to eat...including the Cosimo in the hotel that features a rooftop view over the Arno...particularly wonderful at sunset...with one of their craft cocktails in hand. We highly recommend this hotel and know you will not be disappointed as they offer the ultimate luxury stay in Florence.

This is a lovely hotel. We had a slight hiccup with our room and the staff went above and beyond to move us to a newly renovated room. This gave us a sneak peak at what the renovations will look like. Everyone will LOVE the new rooms once they are available. Because of the hiccup, they gave us complimentary breakfast at the hotel restaurant which had a wonderful selection and made to order eggs, omlette, and eggs benedict. The rooftop bar is relaxing and beautiful. The lobby and lobby bar is both upscale and provides a wonderful place to relax.

This is our favorite hotel. The staff is wonderful. Nico, Andrea, Costanza are just a few of the staff who go above and beyond expectations. The recent remodel has made this First class hotel. We have stayed there multiple times and plan on doing it every year. Dick Benedetti

From the moment we were dropped off in front of the Excelsior, we noted the kind doorman, the beautiful lobby, and the exceptional service of Marta at the front desk. It was not even 10:00, but she got us checked into our room, which was greatly appreciated. Room 128 was spacious, comfortable, and had an amazing balcony that looks out on the river. Our bathroom was huge, with a shower/tub combination, fluffy robes, and slippers for our comfort. We had a separate 'toilet room' with a bidet, which provided an extra level of privacy. Breakfast in the lobby was a real treat. There were so many options. Made to order omelets, eggs, French toast, and pancakes, along with an assortment of pastries, tarts, and fresh fruit made it hard to choose. Everything we ate, was delicious. It was the best breakfast we had in our two week trip to Italy. After dinner, we enjoyed having a nightcap at the rooftop bar. The drinks were expensive, but the fabulous views made it a worthwhile expense. Sadly, we only had one night here, because this place was spectacular in every way. We would happily stay here again on our next trip to Florence!

Sublime! Complete perfection! Caroline (apologies for the spelling) is a wonderful representation of your brand and true hospitality. The rooms are gorgeous with a view to match. Dinner with a sunset view over the Arno was delicious and ever so special. Spectacular breakfast. Oh and amazing bath products. Wish I could go back right now.
