Worst hotel stay during our vacation, booked it through American Express fine hotel and resort. Later found out it was from hotel collection from American Express. Date of stay 06/18/2026- 06/21/2006 three nights. For two adults and a child. Their standard rooms don't have a closet or place to open your suitcases or a desk or chair to sit. Will post pictures worst part was staff, highly rude even the manager Serena. M was least bit helpful. If you are in a customer service business at least be polite or have a smile or show some concern but no so stern response. I paid 3k+ euros for three nights and she told me if I wanted a closet and a space for my suitcase I need to pay 500euro to 700euro per night more. What a crap even $200 hotels room provides a closet, a desk and a chair. Don't book this hotel worst than motel 8. Will post pictures of their rooms on every website, (metal rack is their so called closet) and will make sure its been taken off of American express The hotel collection list so nobody else stay in tiny rooms without basic amenities like desk, chair and a closet even paying over $1000 per night.

We had drinks at the bar which was all going well until we came to pay. The receipt showed that the payment had been approved but the till said there had been an error. We checked our bank account and it was there in our transactions and we showed this to the barman. The barman said this was fine and off we went but when we got down to Reception we were collared by the manager who told us we needed to pay again. We were made to feel very awkward in the middle of the Reception area and were repeatedly asked to pay again which we did not agree with. It was very upsetting for us and our 7 year old son. We left our email address in case of any issues but surprise surprise the payment went through. We have had no apology from the hotel despite them having our email address.

Pros: 1. Location - Barely 400 meters (walking distance) from the Santa Maria Novella train station. If you arrive by train, and do not have too much luggage, you can walk up to the hotel. Also, it is on Piazza Santa Maria Novella - a great hang-out place for youngsters, with bars and restaurants, and of course the beautiful Sant Maria (must see) Church. 2. Sights - The Duomo, Ponte Veccio, Uffizi Gallery, Accademia Gallery are all walking distance from the hotel. It is very central, without being in noisy. 3. Hotel - You can watch the sunset from the Rooftop Bar (next to the pool). Great for a sundowner. The food was good. The staff were polite and helpful. They also lent us adapters on request. The breakfast was decent. Cons: 1. The room was small, and not really value for money. I found the pricing steep 2. No drinking water in the room, even after charging so much.

By far, our favorite hotel stay during our travels through Milan, Florence, and Rome! The location is unbeatable, we were literally able to walk to it easily with our luggage from the train station. It is situated on a beautiful plaza, with a rooftop bar, that provided the most amazing views of the city! Would stay here again in a heartbeat, as well as recommended to our family and friends! Our suite was absolutely stunning, with beautiful fresh, modern, and inviting color scheme, and well appointed! Our family of four stayed comfortably in this room, that provided a large king bedroom, and two day beds for our kids. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating with every request! Breakfast was delicious and provided a wide variety! Can’t say enough good things about this hotel!
