Extremely nice staff

We didn't stay at the hotel but the staff was so sweet and talkative about everything from Florence to personal trips. The hotels rooftop bar has an amazing view that should be experienced. Again, the staff was so sweet and nice, they made our experience so great!

Luxury Stay in Florence

The Grand Hotel Minerva is in an incredible location right next to the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. The lively Santa Maria Novella Piazza sits right in front of the hotel and not only made it easy to find restaurants close by but also serenaded us with musical concerts at night. It was a several minute walk to get to all of the attractions at Piazza del Duomo and only a few minutes further to get to the Uffizi or Ponte Vecchio. The staff during breakfast really worked hard to make sure you had everything you needed. The buffet had a little bit of everything from pastries, meat and cheeses and yogurts to eggs and bacon. The rooftop pool came in handy several times as it was unseasonably scorching in Florence during our stay. After walking around all day, it felt great to cool down and relax while enjoying an incredible 360 degree view of Florence. Having a rooftop bar to order drinks from was the cherry on top. The best part of our stay here was that we were upgraded to one of their largest suites! The room had beautiful painted ceilings and a large space to sprawl out. And the balcony made a great place to hang out and enjoy those evening concerts.

Unsatisfied. Never going back.

Upon arrival I noticed the location area wasn’t very clean or nice. Lots of homeless were around. When we went to check in they did not accomodate our request for connecting rooms. I reiterated multiple times that I have young children and we need to be connecting. It really ruined the trip for us. Me and my husband had to Separate with different kids. Took the experience of all being together away. They were very unapologetic. Next, the breakfast buffet was HORRIBLE. I have been all over Italy and in all kinds of hotels, you can expect an amazing spread. Everything was low quality and there was basically 2 options of actual food. We dreaded the food every morning. Lastly, on our last day we went to down the to the restaurant and we asked for menus multiple times. They wouldn’t bring a menu. Then they bring a menu for the table next to us who sat after us. I kindly asked the man if he can bring a menu for the third time and asked how many more times I should ask? He said I can ask 10 more times. He yelled and became extremely rude. He was the manager ! No one cared about this. I told front desk and they just smiled and didn’t really care. I would never ever go back to this hotel. They were so rude. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because it was clean and the bed and pillows were great. Service and food was horrible

This place is awesome. Went with a 5-person group and we got the connected family rooms, and it was perfect. The rooftop pool is to die for, and it's literally right next to Santa Maria Novella (walkable to every attraction, bus-able to the whole city). It's a touristy area, sure, but isn't that why you're there? The level of service from the hotel was excellent, and the breakfast was a good value. I would absolutely stay here again.

The best hotel we've ever stayed in!

What a wonderful hotel! From the moment we stepped in to the beautiful foyer we were blown away. No sooner had we checked in we were told we had been upgraded to a suite! The room was amazing and the view over the Piazza was spectacular and we could see the Duomo from our window. The service was second to none and all staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive. The view from the roof top terrace, which has a pool open from March, was breathtaking! The breakfast was sumptuous and so much choice of hot and cold and also catered for those who are gluten intolerant. The house keeping could not be faulted, the staff worked tirelessly to keep our room spotless and even readied the room for our arrival after our evening out. The location was superb as all the main attractions were easily within walking distance as were the many restaurants. We cannot praise this hotel highly enough!
