About the Hotel

Hotel 500 Firenze is a boutique hotel housed in an important Florentine Renaissance complex, consisting of several buildings located in the gardens of a spacious and spectacular park. In addition to the Villa, the main body of the complex, there are other buildings which were once farmhouses and barns, as well as a chapel dedicated to St. Francis of Paola. The decorating solutions of the interiors of the Hotel enclose memories of the past, creating a classical but at the same time contemporary image of the Hotel where the conservation of the building melds with the elegance of the common areas, the restaurant and the halls, albeit with a more formal décor in the 60 rooms.

****DO.NOT.STAY.HERE.****

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 17, 2022

****DO. NOT. STAY. HERE.**** Should have paid attention to the reviews. Mass of party guests arriving by 7pm. Full blown wedding reception by 8pm. Went out for dinner and came back to a night club party by 10pm. Just like other reviews stated, this place is obviously an event hosting location first, masquerading as a hotel second. I waited until half past midnight before asking what time the noise would be over because we were being kept awake. I was told 'about another half hour'. The party continued on past 1am and was then followed by a cleaning crew that rattled dishes, clashed bottles together and voices echoed long into the night cleaning up after all the party goers. Still lying awake, I heard the AC in my room turn off somewhere around 2am - the last thing keeping me comfortable. Woke up to grounds keepers mowing lawns promptly at 0800 outside my window that was now open because I had no AC. Aside from the night club outside my window at 1am, the rest of the hotel didn't impress either. I took a swim in the pool which was nice until you looked at the pool bottom and sides with alge uncleaned. The pool deck was abysmal. Empty liquor bottles, pop bottles, and water bottles littered about, sun beds in dissaray, wet towels still laying on deck chairs, dirty ash trays and not a soul to be seen. The pool was cool and refreshing and deep. Nice to swim I guess. Wi-Fi was mediocre. The staff was also peculiar. Check in desk answering the phone in between trying to check us in - rude, no friendly greeting or welcome, asked for a bottle opener for our room and reception didn't want to give us one so told us they needed to open our wine for us instead, told to get wine glasses from the bar but bar attendant looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked for 2 wine glasses. It's unfortunate, the hotel grounds are quite beautiful and there is a ton of potential. Rooms are small but I found them clean. Bathroom is small but clean. Continental breakfast was acceptable. The BEST part of this story if you're still reading, is at checkout. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction (no one cared to ask how my stay was before asking for payment) the reception didn't even blink an eye. There was ZERO remorse or empathy or literally any physical sign of care. Not even so much as an apology. I mentioned the issues I had and was told repeatedly there was nothing to be done except told to speak to a manager who wasn't available of course. When I asked the reception if all other guests should just be expected to deal with others partying and not having any regard for the time of the evening, I was told 'Yes'. Please Please don't bother staying here. It's just not worth it. Congratulations to the bride and groom, hope your stay was enjoyable - mine wasn't. Wish I could post the video here I took at 1am of your party from my bedroom window. Astonishingly poor stay, avoid avoid avoid.

Good value and great breakfast for a one-night stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed August 19, 2021

The hotel is located close to nothing but the highway. Beds were comfortable, room clean and spacious, bathroom good sized with supplies, large parking area. Our included breakfast was buffet style with everything and of high quality, which was great value. There was an unattractive pool. Didn't use the included wifi. At check-in we were informed a/c is turned off at 8am in the morning. There were few guests during our one-night stay, so everything was quiet. Excellent choice for us with a rental car and an errand in the area. But would never stay here for multiple days because of its remote location and never if one doesn't have own car.

Crap Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed February 17, 2020

The hotel building is nice looking, especially during the evening. The staff are friendly and speak good English. I didn’t bother with the breakfast but it looked typical European. Location wise it’s really in the middle of nowhere and you’d have to drive or get a taxi to Florence which is about 40 mins away by car. Out of the 4 nights we stayed, 3 were absolutely dead. No one else there really. My room was ok but the toilet stank due to the sewers. I also got bitten quite badly during the night by something. Restaurant and bar area really nice but no atmosphere if there’s nobody else there.

Shabby rooms, rude staff, loud events at night

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed October 19, 2019

The rooms are shabby, bathrooms are mouldy. Male reception staff are unapproachable and rude. The hotel hosts events, does not inform guests and provides no assistance in relation to noise. Complaints are met with non-chalance. I will be taking forward a formal complaint in relation to the male reception staff.

Fantastic family hotel

Super swimming pool, large rooms, great breakfast. This a really good base to explore Florence and the surrounding areas. We really enjoyed the restaurant - although the staff there are a little overworked. Would stay here again most definitely
