Hotel De La Ville

Very, very serviceminded staff. Excellent. Lovely rooms and extremly central ... 100 - 200 m to the dome? I can really recommend this hotel. Maybe the breakfast could be a bit more varied ... and one of the photos on the booking sites suggest you will stay overlooking the river ... which is not true.

Amazing hotel. Staff was extremely attentive. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. 4 stars plus for sure. Highly recommeneded.

This charming hotel is very conveniently located. The Happy Hour was nice, and the breakfast buffet was adequate. We were part of a 17-person tour group and arrived at 10:30 AM. Of course, it was too early to check-in, so our luggage was unloaded, and the walking tour began. The group returned to the hotel at 6:00 PM to discover the luggage had not been delivered to the rooms even though rooms had been assigned by the hotel. Only one porter was available, so everyone just handled their own luggage. The front desk personnel were overwhelmed and not particularly friendly. I was given a room key only to discover it was already occupied. Fortunately, our local guide stayed until all of the problems were resolved. She acted as interpreter. The room amenities certainly worth a 4 star rating. There were no face cloths, no bathrobes, the mini bar only had 2 bottles of water for $3.00 a piece and no coffee pot. I was told that I could rent a tea pot for $15.00 a day! The bathroom toiletries were just silly. The 5 tissues were in a pocket-sized box and the lotion was in a blister pack. On the surface, the Hotel de La Ville looks like a 4 star hotel but it doesn't act like a 4 star hotel.

Stayed for a few days in Florence before attending a wedding in Tuscany. The hotel was in very nice, dignified older building. Despite being in a very busy central location it was very quiet and comfortable. The location was in easy walking distance to the Duomo and major museums, restaurants, shopping and other attractions. We have taken advantage of in in-house breakfast buffet option at the hotels we’ve stayed in on this trip and this hotel had the best one of all. Would stay here again.

Really really poor service - do not stay here - I booked a double room to stay with my wife. She was no longer able to come, so I emailed saying that I wanted to change to a single (several months in advance) they confirmed this and then charged me for a double room and put me in a single - Its really poor poor service and I would not recommend anyone to stay there
