An unforgettable stay in the heart of Florence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed at Hotel degli Orafi during our 20th wedding anniversary weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. The location is in the centre of everything — right next to the Ponte Vecchio and literally next door to the Uffizi Gallery. Almost everything in Florence is within walking distance. The Duomo is around a 10-minute walk, although this can easily take longer when you’re constantly stopping to admire the beautiful buildings, streets and incredible sights! We walked everywhere during our stay and only took a taxi to the station with our luggage — and even that would be walkable if you don’t have heavy bags. There is a lovely gelato shop right next door, plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby, and shopping is literally on your doorstep. Our duplex room was great. It gave us plenty of space and was comfortable, beautifully presented and perfect for our anniversary weekend. One of the highlights for me was the breakfast room. It has to be one of the most beautiful breakfast rooms I’ve ever experienced. Sitting there overlooking the Ponte Vecchio while admiring the stunning painted ceiling was such a special way to start the day. There was a great selection of breakfast options, and everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were wonderful — friendly, welcoming and always happy to help whenever we needed anything. They were also very accommodating of all the request we had. But the absolute star of the hotel has to be the rooftop terrace. WOW! The views of the Duomo are incredible, and watching the sunset from up there was simply magical. It was such a wonderful alternative to battling the crowds at Piazzale Michelangelo. Sitting with a drink, taking in the view and watching Florence change colour as the sun went down was one of the most memorable moments of our trip. The drinks were excellent, and the tiramisu was fantastic — definitely worth trying! Overall, Hotel degli Orafi made our 20th wedding anniversary weekend in Florence even more special. The location, beautiful rooms, wonderful staff, incredible breakfast setting and breathtaking rooftop made this a truly memorable stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel degli Orafi to anyone visiting Florence.

Exceptional Service, Timeless Elegance, perfect location.

At Hotel degli Orafi the hotel itself becomes part of the experience of Firenze, of Italy. The staff was—warm, kind, and attentive. Our room was pristine and decorated out of a magazine. The complimentary breakfast was elaborate and served in a frescoed dining room, with a view of the Arno. Everywhere you look there is art and beauty, painted ceilings, plush furniture, beautiful views, gorgeous window treatments and chandeliers. The location is perfect for walking everywhere, including the Ponte Vecchio. The rooftop bar is magical—you can hear the music drifting up from the piazza below while watching the sun set over the Duomo. I highly recommend Hotel degli Orafi. It punches well above its weight in beauty, service and value. If you come to Florence and stay in a chain luxury hotel, you’re missing something. To stay here is to experience Firenze!

A warm and friendly welcome, expert concierge and A1 first class service from check in to room (Fabrizzio). Superb, clean and tidy room service - we stayed an extra night and nothing was a problem, Enjoyed the roof top bar, excellent breakfast choice and service ( il migliore caffe ). 10/10 central location to the city. Very helpful night manager too... We will return again, Highly recommend. Jh

Wonderful rooftop bar

We visited the rooftop bar at Hotel degli Orafi in Florence one afternoon and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the drinks were excellent, and the views were truly breathtaking. It’s a beautiful spot to relax, enjoy a drink, and take in the stunning Florence skyline. A lovely place to spend an afternoon and highly recommended.

Wonderful stay!

I stayed in the “Room with a view” with my 15 year old daughter in mid June as a retirement treat. The view from the room was superb! It’s was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and polite on arrival and departure, and courteous when entering and leaving the hotel to explore. A nice balance for me, as I’m not keen on it being overbearing. The housekeeping staff do a wonderful job! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the breakfast room itself stunning! We ate in the rooftop restaurant (outside on the patio area) twice, the only feedback was that service was quite slow , but then I noticed that throughout Florence! We were not offered water on the second night and didn’t get condiments but that wasn't a huge deal . Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s only ten min walk to the main areas which are hugely busy in summer! The hotel felt like a lovely peaceful and tranquil place away from the crowds. Reception will arrange a taxi to the airport which was around €38. We arrived from another hotel near the airport by tram due to an late fight arrival , and walked to the Orafi the next morning from the train station which I wouldn’t recommend with a case with wheels due to the uneven paths!! It was a struggle
