Overlooking the Ponte Vecchio, the Hotel Degli Orafi offers a prime location for travelers seeking easy access to Florence’s historic monuments. The hotel’s slightly disorderly antique décor it is warm and reassuring at the same time. Many rooms have luscious views of the Arno, and a few have their own terraces. One in particular, the room 414, has its own terrace overlooking the river and the Ponte Vecchio and it is famous to be ‘The Room with a View’ (as featured in James Ivory’s film).

Wonderful!
We stayed in Suite 50/51, penthouse family suite and we could not have been more pleased with this accommodation! Incredibly spacious and comfortable! Keep in mind that beds in Europe are going to be firmer than in US, wherever you stay. The staff were wonderful, always pleasant and helpful. Location is very convenient. We loved having the option of the rooftop bar to escape the crowds on the streets below. The breakfast buffet was delicious with plenty of options. This is an excellent option for your stay in Florence!

An excellent hotel with the best location in Florence!
It was such a fantastic stay at Hotel Degli Orafi. The location is perfect, right on the Arno river next to the Ponte Vecchio and just steps from the Uffizi Gallery. Everything in Florence is walkable from there. The staff was incredibly gracious and made us feel so welcome. The breakfast every morning was wonderful, served in this stunning room with the most beautiful frescoes on the ceiling. And the rooftop bar, Disopra, was just lovely with the greatest views, the Duomo on one side and the Arno and Ponte Vecchio on the other. Their Limoncello spritzes are honestly the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this hotel!

Great location but
Lovely hotel, with elegant fixtures and helpful staff. Excellent location. The breakfast room is gorgeous, and the buffet is generous. Our room was disappointing, unfortunately. Zero view (above an alley, all we could see was a wall and flat grey roof). And the smallest shower I have ever seen; a larger person literally would not be able to use it. There is no place other than the shower floor to place soap or shampoo., and no matter how you angle the shower head, the floor gets wet.

Centrally Located in Historic Building
The front desk staff are available and helpful in securing rides and giving suggestions to navigate the city. We stayed in the ‘classic’ section of the hotel verses the newly renovated area. We had a sliver of a view of the river along the walk of Pointe Vecchio. The breakfast was complete and served early in the morning in a dining room with beautiful frescoes on the high vaulted ceilings.

Fabulous Hotel
We have just spent four wonderful nights at this hotel. The location is ideal for seeing the city and overlooks the river and Ponte Veccio. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful The breakfast rivals any thst I have had in my travels worldwide. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed.
