A "very good" rating due to location, room size, and hotel decor and amenities. Our stay was salvaged by a room change to a higher floor. Room 113 is simply uninhabitable due to street noise, but our request to change was accommodated and remainder of stay was great. Staff is somewhat indifferent in attitude, but did accommodate us and thus we were able to enjoy our stay in what is definitely a beautiful hotel.

Hotel was great. It has a good location. Room was clean and has a lift. We stayed for 3 nights. During the second morning breakfast, the kitchen manager (I think) came and asked me, "What room are you in?" I told her the room number and she presumably went to reception to check. We are Asians so the names would be different from other non Asians. I found it strange that she asked us for the room number whereas she did not ask anyone else for it. Did she think that we sneak in from outside and eat the so-so breakfast for free?

Really nice small bar (there is also a lounge where one can relax) which serves cocktails and good wine. Low level ambient music to compliment the atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable about drinks. Recommended if you would like to have an easy low stress chilled our evening.

We stayed in the family room for 3 nights. The family room is really two rooms each with a bathroom, very spacious. Beds very comfortable, pillows a bit soft for us. Room was excellent, the only improvement to suggest is some hooks to hang clothes on in the bathrooms. The closets in our room were very spacious. The breakfast is excellent and saves a lot of time in the morning. Service was first class overall. The sitting room with fireplace (behind the reception area) was very welcome after coming in from the cold. Very cozy room with comfy sofas. The location is great - short walk from the train/bus station and also short walks to many attractions and the shopping area. Many good restaurants nearby. I would stay here again.

Very elegant hotel. Nice size room, huge bathroom, both renovated fairly recently. I would prefer brighter light by the bathroom mirror— “mood lighting” seems to be very common nowadays. Varied breakfast buffet in a beautiful room. Be advised there were a few steps between the elevator and the room. Pleasant service. Hotel is on the Piazza Santa Novella, well located to all major sites. You are only 5 minutes walk from the main train station, but the church is in between so you don’t see or hear the station and the crowds around it
