Boutique luxury in the center of Florence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stayed at Palazzo Firenze with my family of 5 including 3 adult kids. This property is a hidden gem - it’s only 24 rooms and it feels like a private residence with the grand common spaces, beautiful fresco art and decor, and personalized service. We booked a double and triple room and were very impressed with how large and comfortable the rooms were - and they have Acqua di Parma bath products very nice! The common spaces are lovely and very historic, breakfast was well done with both self serve items and cooked to order eggs, waffles, crepes, etc. There is a restaurant and bar on the lobby level, and a Michelin 3 star restaurant on the entry level that is one of the best restaurants in Florence. We lived there location of the property on a quiet side street but only steps to the Piazza Santa Croce and a 5-10 min walk to all the top sights in Florence. Best part of the stay for us was the friendly staff and personalized service - they knew us and welcomed us home with friendly faces every day of our stay. Highly recommend this luxe property.

Fabulous experience at a classy hotel in a great location in Florence

Fabulous location very close to the Duomo, Piazza Della Signoria and more. Very warm welcome, great attentiveness to service and excellent breakfast. Shout out to Filippo who manned the front desk most of the our visit - he took special care and helped us with multiple things. And secondly to Daniel who attended to us at breakfast for 3 days. Excellent deluxe room, great bedding and incredibly convenient. Not one thing short.

Form over function

Beautiful decor but poor functionality. I was unable to set the AC below 18 degrees Celsius. The staff told me this was a law - that was wrong. The temperature in my room never went below 19 and, therefore, I was not able to sleep well. The shower was impossible- complicated and I could never get it to work properly. My own pet peeve is when they put the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the same containers and labeled in type so small, it is impossible to read without glasses. The sink drained slowly. We were a group who started early on some days but the hotel refused to open the breakfast area ( or provide room service) before 7.30 am. Not accessible - steps into the lobby and no ramp. I was glad to leave.

Pleasant Staff, but expected more from rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed June 29, 2024

High-end hotel with wonderful staff - very friendly and accommodating. However, rooms had no comfortable seating areas - basically a bench in front of bed and stiff chair. The bathroom was spacious, however, the shower was smaller than normal - effectively an uncomfortable, small shower, not well lit and very dated. For the money that was paid, expected more from the room. If staying in Florence again, would seek another hotel (other than pleasant service, no reason to choose hotel) and perhaps closer to the Uffizi Galleries area.

Surely one of the friendliest and most intimately beautiful hotels in the world.

My friend and I just returned from a glorious 4 day trip in Florence. We booked the Relais Santa Croce after winning a bid at Luxury Link and could not have been more pleased. The hotel itself is gorgeous - a perfect balance of Florentine architecture, old world touches and modern amenities. The main lobby lounge is a dream come true with its beautifully embellished ceiling and walls. The pictures simply do not do it justice. The hotel was quiet during our stay, and we experienced incredibly attentive and gracious service. Everything, including the e-mail correspondence leading up to the trip, was handled professionally and with care. The rooms were very comfortable, we could not have asked for anything more. The food at the hotel's restaurant, Guelfi e Ghibellini, was prepared very well and was quite delicious. The hotel had booked for us in advance some museum passes and tours. For the city tour, we thoroughly enjoyed the private walking tour given by Fadi Bassil of Florencetown. Fadi's background in architecture enhanced our understanding of so many of the beautiful structures and art pieces throughout the city. He was knowledgeable about all of the questions we had along the way, was very flexible about timing and which attractions to see in accordance with our preferences. We were extremely pleased with both tours and would highly recommend them to anyone. We had the most perfect time in Florence and will definitely be returning soon!
