I have been a Hilton Diamond for many years, and I've stayed at everything from the Waldorf series all the way down to the Hampton Inn's. I've stayed at some of the best, and arguably some of the worst that Hilton has to offer. As I juggle back and forth from Marriott to Hilton, I generally equate the Ritz Carlton brand, with the Hilton Conrad series. Typically, they offer the same level of amenities, and the quality of the property. The Conrad Ft. Lauderdale would rank well below any Ritz Carlton. At least how I was treated, and the overall condition of the suite that I paid a premium for. As a Hilton Diamond with well over 200 stays per year, you would think they would be tripping over themselves to provide an upgrade. In the past, I have stayed at some higher floor residence suites with wraparound balconys at this property. I tried to secure a nice upgrade here, but was flatly refused, unless I accepted a GOUGE of an extra $500 per night, which I flatly refused. After an hour and a half "trying to work something out", they finally dumped me into a low floor room on the street side, which is called the East Tower. Trust me, you don't want to be here. A1A is a two way boulevard in front of the hotel, and you will hear EVERY LOUD set of pipes on every vehicle that passes by. It gets extremely noisy on A1A. So, once again, do not allow them to dump you in the East Tower. The suite, located on the 3rd floor, was spacious, though sparsely furnished. It was also in questionable shape. I had the engineering staff up to the room on several occasions to attempt to repair things, so that the next guest WON'T HAVE TO BE INCONVENIENCED like I was. Neither phone worked (One now does ... you're welcome). The microwave was falling apart. The thermostats are way off on the temp reading. The sliding glass doors to the balcony don't open without an extreme amount of force due a deteriorated track. They tried to repair them, but it was out of their league. The showerhead was severely oxidized from years of operation with questionable water, and they couldn't even replace that. The shower valve was also defective, as It wouldn't shut totally off without a lot of force. They DO, offer complete cooking facilities in almost every suite. My unit had a four burner cooktop and sizeable refrigerator. Unfortunately, the icemaker wasn't operable. However, they will bring you ice upon request. The bedding and pillows were comfortable. the bathroom was well appointed with toiletries, towels and soaking tub, but the shower was tiny. The pool area is very nice and spacious with a great selection of lounge chairs for your sunbathing. The pool is smallish, but none of the hotels have particularly large pools, due to their footprints on A1A. Beach access is by crossing the street; no private bridges at this property. The hotel does, of course, maintain lounge chairs and umbrellas, at the beachside, but at 4:30 they begin to harass you that they want their lounge chair returned. At 5, they are gone. In summation, this can be a somewhat nice property, if you are favored to stay in the higher floors away from the noisy Boulevard up in front. There is plenty of competition elsewhere, and next door they have a brand new Four Seasons property which is breathtaking. The storied Ritz Carlton is also right down the street, and with the exception of their Club Lounge (which I've had many issues with) the property consistently delivers satisfaction. The Conrad Ft. Lauderdale does "act" like a basic Hilton, but at 3 times the nightly rate. I suggest that you, and CERTAINLY they, can do much better. Good luck with this place .... and safe and happy travels !!

The staff here is incredibly rude and they have absolutely no sense of customer service. I booked a 3 bedroom suite through Amex travel which offers a 12pm early check in, if available. I called multiple times on the day of arrival to ask for the early check in because I arrived very ill with an upper respiratory infection. They told me that they were trying their best but refused to give me more information or offer any assistance or other options. I finally arrived at 3pm and the room wasn’t ready. I asked the manager for help and she gave us a small room for the 5 of us to use in the meantime. Despite a guaranteed 4pm room check in, at 5pm we still had not heard from the front desk and my husband went back to the front desk for an update. They were rude and indifferent and said it wasn’t ready. Two minutes later they called to say the room was ready. Rudely and without even an apology, the annoyed front desk clerk handed us the keys. Paying over $2k/night we expected a higher level of service and treatment. Stay away. This would never happen at the Four Seasons or similar hotels. This is not the same level hotel.

The Conrad Fort Lauderdale beach exceeded my expectations. Check in was smooth and efficient. The room and the housekeeping team is what sold it for me . Room was great and even had a cooktop it was like my own little condo. The room even a had doorbell. Housekeeping at the Conrad was top tier for me the minute I entered the room after my first night stay, I walked back in and said yes this room smells clean. Chefs Kiss 💋 I will be back . The property is well managed and clean. I was very impressed. The onsite Restaurant Takato was so good we ate their multiple nights. I most definitely will be back . The Conrad owes me, my sister and our friend nothing .
