Pelican Grand Beach Resort

The entire experience was wonderful. Staff was friendly and engaging. Ocean 2000 served excellent food. The bar was a nice scene. Beach service was similarly excellent. Cold water brought to our beach chairs without being asked. Thank you, Jon. The rooms were spacious with beautiful views. The beach was well maintained with chair and umbrella service the minute you walked out. Plenty of accommodations for the hotel guests on their very nice private beach. Also had a relaxing couples spa treatment that was just what the doctor ordered. Would happily go back again.

Carlos was an amazing waiter. The food was anmazing and the service was fantastic. He was so kind and attentive for us coming in so late!

We had a nice escape-from-the-cold getaway to Pelican Grand/FTL over New Years for a few days. Rooms: We had two rooms- both were spacious and well appointed. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The view from rooms ending in -04 is absolutely spectacular. Balconies are small but nice to have. Each room only has two free bottles of water, but there is a filtered fill station in the gym. Room amenities are minimal but good quality. Hotel: Age shows in some areas but common areas are clean and well kept. Public bathrooms are nice. Lobby is easily crowded but that may be because of the adorably decorated Christmas tree. The outdoor areas are nice, though I wish there were more than two firepits for evening use. Food/Drinks: Ocean2000 is ok. Dinner was great, but very expensive. Service at dinner was wonderful (Mike) and the views are beautiful. Incredible attention to dietary needs and food safety. Breakfast is where the wheels fall off. Everyone working is like a deer in headlights. They're easily overwhelmed and very slow. Expect to spend at least an hour on breakfast BEFORE rush hour. After 9am, I witnessed people leaving tables while waiting for orders to be taken. Mistakes abound, so be careful if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. However, Samantha was the one standout server- really friendly and hardworking. Emporium is ok. Gelato and ice cream are good, and people are friendly. It opens late sometimes and closes for breaks, so just know that it's not always there when you need it. Beach/Pool: The beach is absolutely spectacular. Clean, beautiful and you can walk for miles. Plenty of staff to help with anything you need. Everyone is super friendly too. Pool is small, lazy river is small, but when there's a chill in the air, the water is warm and welcoming. There aren't a ton of chairs, and the towel situation is a little annoying but I understand why they have this system. Front Desk: Olishia is fantastic. Patient and so helpful. She has every answer! Concierge was really nice and helpful, too. She told us we get complimentary tickets (1 per room) for the Water Taxi which I was so thankful for. They will tell you there is a shuttle. There is no shuttle. At least, I never saw a shuttle, and they never were able to pick us up, despite giving hours of notice. When you ask the desk, they'll tell you to text the shuttle, there's nothing they can do. It is ridiculous. We did not rent a car thinking we would use the shuttle. We spent a ton of money on Ubers instead. Do not rely on the shuttle. Location: Quick, easy and safe walk to Publix, Shooters restaurant (Water Taxi) and other hotels for restaurants.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks here. The accommodations and hotel is well kept with a fantastic location on the beach close to many shops and restaurants. The best part of our experience were the friendly staff. The housekeepers are always friendly, the valets including Damian and Mark are attentive and kind, and the beach staff including Johnny, Jean, Frank, Brandi, Adam, Alexa, and Jon are wonderful. Very special crew!

From the moment we arrived, we knew this was the perfect spot for our laid-back love of travel. It felt like visiting an old-money friends' estate. Ease of access to food, drinks, & the beach was great. Our service from the staff was very accommodating & much appreciated.
