Pelican Grand Beach Resort

My boyfriend and I went there for an anniversary first time getaway and we were blown away by the resort amenities, food, drinks and service! Carlos C made the experience 2nd to none. Our anniversary dinner the staff presented us with a card wishing us a happy anniversary and Carlos went above and beyond for us. Cannot recommend enough!! The brunch on Sunday was incredible too! I can’t remember the waiters name who serviced the beach but man did he hustle and was super friendly! Anne was the shuttle bus driver who was also awesome. This place rocks!

Rooms were amazing, hotel was very accommodating. Food in bar area was just ok, food service is tipped at 22% automatically on the bill which was a bit strange. Didnt get to benefit from the lazy river or beach day, Rained the whole time we were there and by the time it was not raining, the beach area and lazy river was closed.

Most of the experience was good. The attitude of the front desk was mostly brusk. Interactions with the desk manager was abysmal. She was unwilling to either tell the truth or fix a problem. The bathroom in our suite had marble tile everywhere and that made the shower dangerously slippery with no rubber mat or grab bars. Also the barn door to the bathroom wouldn't stay closed. The rooms had lights that did not work and a fan that did not work. Although there were 2 rooms which was very nice, the separation between them had a shade that was not a black out shade, so any light would disturb the sleeper in the bedroom.

We had a great stay and really enjoyed this hotel. Good food staff is excellent!!! We especially enjoyed the pool and the staff by the pool. Giovanna and Alex are great at their jobs. Giovanna was very attentive to our needs, and Alex provided us with some great storytelling and some good laughs.

Great property! Sub-par guest services. While everyone was nice enough, room service never came with glasses, front desk couldn’t figure out bill, kitchen super slow. For a hotel of this class, they’ve got to get better.
