Reviews for Pier Sixty-Six

Unfriendly and Snobby Staff.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Very unfriendly staff. Extremely stuck up. Not the place to go to when visiting fort Lauderdale. Go for the bigger names- Four Season, Ritz etc. Although it is beautiful you will not enjoy your time there. They make you feel terrible, and are genuinely not helpful.

Lovely stay except for one thing……

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I grew up a few blocks from Pier 66. When looking for a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday and Mother’s Day, I was delighted to discover Pier 66’s renovation was complete and open again. We booked the weekend. The resort is beautiful. The hotel has luxuries that we have experienced at international hotels often but not in domestic hotels. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room lovely. The food very good. Although there were some operational hiccups one could expect with a reboot, nothing that wasn’t resolved quickly and professionally. I would highly recommended Pier 66 except for one personal disappointment. Part of our family ritual was ending our trip at the landmark Top of the Pier bar/restaurant. Many celebrations in my life involved the revolving bar. However, the management has decided to turn that experience into a sleazy Las Vegas-like farce complete with ropes and bouncers. On our last evening we rode the elevator down from our room to the lobby to access the roof. We saw the “host” ushering 3 young ladies scantily dressed into the elevator that would give them access. Then he told us we could not go. He said my husband (a highly decorated disabled vet) was not properly dressed because he was in shorts. This in Florida in May. His shorts were definitely more expensive and covered more of his body than the young ladies dresses. That certainly ended our lovely Pier 66 vacation with a thud. I would suggest the management rethink the iconic Pier Top restrictions if they would like to attract a better clientele.

A step in the right direction

The place is drop dead gorgeous. Nothing better in Ft Lauderdale. The staff though isn’t up to par and doesn’t match the facilities. More training is needed. You can see the newness. Many things were off - we counted 9 issues unfortunately during our stay. It will get fixed but it’s still too new. For the price - they should work to tighten it up or they won’t be able to compete. We can’t wait to return after these kinks are worked out. Good luck Pier 66! Definitely a step in the right direction.

Our best pre/post cruise stay Hotel ever.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We were lucky enough to stay here for 1 night pre cruise and 2 nights post cruise and wow wow wow and wow--what a find!! Check out all the pictures to see how stunningly beautiful this place is--its even better in real life and is without a doubt the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in, in the USA. What however makes it extra special is the team here--all departments are absolutely second to none and offer a service level that we have never had outside of perhaps Banyan Tree Bangkok which is also amazing. We loved breakfast in Garne which stops at 1pm (nice if you dont want to rush in the morning) and the service here by Cybil and Fatima is exceptional yet so so friendly without being overbearing--what an asset for any hotel to have with these 2 wonderful ladies. The market place coffee stop was lovely with a great selection. Reception team are simply fantastic and so so welcoming and the arrival drink is a lovely touch as is the smiling welcome. The rooms are stunning and we were lucky enough to have a suite for all nights which are beautifully appointed with 75 in lcd tvs, stunning bathrooms with the latest Japanese toilets and the most comfortable beds we have ever had--yes better than Four Seasons beds which says alot. The room rates are excellent for what you receive in return but our only slight negative would be the food and beverage pricing which we thought was a little excessive in some areas and I sincerely hope that management address this asap as it could potentially put future guests off?! Special thanks go out to Richard who is the wonderful rooms division director and a thoroughly nice chap as well. We wish this beautiful establishment all the best and look forward to returning asap. Room 6043 Sun 6th-Tuesday 9th April.

Loved Pier Sixty Six Resort - Calling all Foodies!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Pier Sixty Six is the newest and hottest destination resort on the block! It’s right on the water and is a full service 5 star resort with all the bells and whistles you could want for a guys or girls trip, a yachting stop over, or a family trip. The spa is massive and absolutely stunning / top notch. I had a facial with Jana and it was one of the best I’ve ever had and so relaxing. There are several dining options and I have to say each one is better vs the next, standout is the breakfast both at Garni and at the more casual lobby breakfast/coffee shop, get the egg white frittata, scrumptious. Sotogrande was fantastic too as is the poolside bites! Service was also pretty fantastic- Jacob at the concierge is super friendly and Tiffany the hostess at Garni is so sweet and friendly. The rooms are beautiful- they have a mid century vibe. I wanted more options for shopping, like a boutique lobby shop as I needed a few on trip gifts and could have bought some extra cover ups or dresses. I also felt they could use another more casual lunch grab and go outlet.
