W Fort Lauderdale

We stayed at the W Fort Lauderdale for a weekend in July, checking in on Friday and staying through Saturday night. The service provided by the majority of the staff was excellent. In particular, the bell staff were friendly and gracious in assisting with our luggage, and the pool staff were attentive, responsive, and consistently helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the condition of the property and overall guest experience fell well below expectations. Several dining venues were closed and inaccessible during our visit, including the beach-facing outdoor bar, the lobby grab-and-go coffee and breakfast café, and the lobby-level restaurant. None of these closures were disclosed on the Marriott website or app when we booked our stay. Had we known that so many amenities would be unavailable, we would have chosen different accommodations. In addition, only one of the three elevators in Tower One was operational. As guests staying on the 11th floor, we experienced excessive wait times throughout the weekend and ended up using the stairs on multiple occasions because waiting for the elevator was ridiculous. As a Titanium Elite member, the breakfast benefit was also disappointing. The $12 breakfast credit has very little value at a W property, where even a basic breakfast exceeds that amount. While the staff did an excellent job, they could not make up for the property's maintenance issues, lack of available amenities, and poor communication regarding the closures. Overall, this stay did not meet the expectations of a W Hotel or Marriott Bonvoy, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Richard on the beach was very professional, kind, personable, and helpful. All of our drinks came out fantastic and they made sure we had a great time.We will definitely be back and glad we got to make new friends. Great customer service.

I’ve stayed at the W before, in Jan 2025. I thought it would be a good place for our family and friends to stay for the Wotld Cup game. The hotel has gone downhill and I’m unlikely to return. Rooms need refreshing. Showers have inconsistent temperatures (all rooms, multiple days). Restaurants couldn’t seem to accommodate the volume of guests and room service was no better. It took almost 1.5 hours to get food. Overall I’m disappointed.

We had an amazing weekend celebrating a birthday with a group of 6 ladies at the W Fort Lauderdale! Even though we accidentally booked the wrong date on Booking.com, the manager, Raul Lopez, saved the day. He went completely above and beyond by moving us into a room that was even better than what we originally booked. Throughout our entire stay, Raul kept checking in on us to see if there was anything else he could do to make our trip special. His exceptional hospitality made our celebration unforgettable. We cannot recommend this property enough! Wonderful service!

Amazing stay from start to finish! Everything exceeded our expectations. The drinks at the Wet Bar were fantastic and despite how busy it was, the pool staff was always friendly. The only minor issue we had was the elevators, but it didn’t take away from an otherwise flawless stay. A special shoutout to the valet team especially Victor, Douglas, and manager Romiro for their exceptional service. We can’t wait to come back!!
