W Fort Lauderdale

I've stayed at this W a few times. It's a nice alternative to some of the 'business' hotels they attempt to book me into. It's a W. The restaurants are always decent and it's ocean front and there is the whole W vibe. The staff is all on-it from valet to check-in to the restaurants to room service. With that said, I feel like issues out of their control are hampering the experience. When checking in, the card machine kept not working so we had to move from terminal to terminal. At the restaurant, it appears that maybe the hostess also takes room service orders? I stood there why she explained a dish on the menu to a guest over the phone. The hotel feels a bit tired. The sliding glass doors in my room to get onto the balcony were very tough to open. In summary: it's fine. It's not the best W I've stayed in but if in Ft. Lauderdale, it's not a bad option.

mario and jordan were very attentive to our needs. they set up the day bed and moved the umbrella to accommodate us for the shade. would definitely recommend coming here, great customer service.

Mario was the best in service and hospitality ask for him !! He helped us out a ton at the beach, will definitely be coming back.

The W has so much potential but seems to miss the mark on a few things which drag it down. The hotel requires some significant maintenance and updating as its showing it wear. The Mexican restaurant is great but they need to renovate their bar area and get some new furniture as its in pretty rough shape. The service overall is pretty good but my biggest complaint is housekeeping. We were not getting daily housekeeping and regularly came back at 4pm to a uncleaned room. When we called to request and see if they'd still clean the room we left for dinner to return around 9pm with it still left untouched. I called again and they said they would send someone. We returned around 1am and nobody arrived. They also didnt come the following day either. We also had a cockroach in our room which we had promptly removed and were told a manager would contact us - they never did. I was also disappointed when we requested 2 days into our stay to cut one day off our 6 day stay and they refused. They quoted the cancellation policy, when advised it was 24 hours notice as per our rate booked, they then said it was their own internal policy. This is not hospitality given the issues we had during our stay.

Brandon was AMAZING!!!! he made sure we were taken care of and had a great time. he's also very friendly and such a good employee. I will definitely be coming back just because the service is top tier! 🙌🏼
