In the heart of Forte dei Marmi, framed by the Apuan Alps and the Versilia Riviera, Grand Hotel Imperiale is an elegant retreat that blends Italian tradition with contemporary sophistication. Bright, refined rooms and suites provide a serene base for a seaside stay, while the hotel’s private Remo Beach Club, just three minutes away, brings the experience to the Tuscan coast. At L’Olivo Restaurant, Executive Chef Simone Domenichelli draws on Mediterranean traditions—particularly seafood—while giving them a contemporary expression, with guests able to dine in the elegant interior or outdoors beside the pool and olive trees. Wellness is another focus, although travelers visiting in 2026 should note that the hotel currently states its spa is undergoing renovation for the 2026 season.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful forte dei marmi. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Also only negative thing was that the bathtub was way too high to climb into. We went twice to the beach club which we loved. But the food was average.

I’d like to start by noting that the hotel is scheduled for renovations, which is wonderful news. That said, even in its current state, the property still has a lot to offer. At night, the exterior has a magical silhouette, beautifully lit and elegant. The restaurant is outstanding—my sister and I especially loved the breakfast spread, which was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room to lounge and unpack. Unfortunately, I struggled with the strong scents used throughout the property. The lobby and hallways carried a heavy fragrance, and inside the room it was overwhelming. I have perfume allergies, so I asked for the perfume sticks and flowers to be removed, but the lingering scent remained strong enough that I had to sleep with a mask on. The first night, our air conditioning wasn’t working. When I asked to switch rooms, I was told the hotel was full, but thankfully the engineering team fixed it by the next day. I didn’t press to move again since I assumed all rooms would carry the same scent. The staff were consistently polite and respectful, though I wish they had been more proactive with information. Forte dei Marmi is a beach town where hotels typically have their own cabanas, yet no one explained where the Grand Imperiale’s were located or that food and towels were available there. My sister and I wandered from one cabana setup to another, being turned away multiple times, before someone finally clarified where we should go. A small detail like this could have saved us a lot of hassle. In the end, we mainly used the hotel as a base to explore nearby towns, since the scent in the room made it difficult for me to spend much time inside. Still, the restaurant was excellent, the staff were kind, and the hotel retains an undeniable charm—one that I hope will shine even brighter after the renovations.

TERRIBLE HOTEL. Tiny bathroom no bathtub, tiny shower, tiny sink, inadequate space for clothing. Worst Concierge. No head Concierge. Left hand didn't know what right hand was doing. Never listened to requests. Terrible breakfast buffet. Beach ludicrous prices. This hotel ruined our trip!

I never start a hotel review talking about the Spa, but in this case I have to. I have had massages all over the world, but Barbara at Hotel Grande Imperial just topped them all. I would book this Hotel again just for the massage. Now the Hotel. Very classy, elegant hotel where the staff say yes to everything with a smile. It's 200m from the main town area and beach front which is great. My room was amazing, modern Italian chiq. I was pleased from arrival to departure. But a final word for Barbara. Bellissima, grazie.

From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty. The hotel upgrades are gorgeous, the room and bathroom is spacious and well appointed. The breakfast buffet had many delicious choices. The staff was gracious and accommodating. The hotel is centrally located to all the shopping, beaches and restaurants. Having a driver at your disposal was an unexpected perk and we used this service multiple times during our stay. The decor outside the hotel is stunning and we enjoyed cocktails and snacks on the beautiful couches. We had a marvelous dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend staying at the Grand Hotel Imperiale.
