Well Worth a Visit 🙂

Excellent hotel. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Food in the bar is excellent- beautiful burrara salad, oysters and chicken burger! Grest staff 🙂 Excellent reasonably priced cocktails. Piano player created a lovely atmosphere in the evening time. Leisure centre is lovely- only thing is sauna and jacuzzi were not very hot! A minor thing. Beautiful walks and surroundings. Overall a fab stay and we will definitely be back.

A beautiful hotel in Cork, perfect for families, couples and business

I am writing this review after leaving the hotel today as we honestly had such a wonderful stay! We visited from the 11th until the 15th of January with my husband, my two year old, and 9 month old. When we arrived at the hotel in typical Irish fashion it was lashing down! Michael saw me running with the two kids in my arms and rushed to get the doors open for me. He was so friendly and my kids definitely had a few smiles and fistbumps for him! We were checked into our room by Diana who also booked our dinner for that evening and breakfast the next morning. Diana was more than happy to answer any questions we had and made sure we knew our way around the hotel as much as possible. We stayed in room 152, a beautiful room with two queen sized beds, desk area with two chairs, shelf space, small wardrobe space, a huge bathroom with a deep bath and a wet room style shower with option rain or hand held shower head, and enough room to add a travel cot and for the children to pay with their toys. We did bring our own travel cot so I would just double check that they can have that available for you if you need it. There was also a cooler in the room - again this may need to be double checked as we requested a fridge on our booking for storing breastmilk. Room 152 has a view of the carpark but also plenty of greenery due to the hotels location. The room was very clean and servicing was exceptional, if it wasn't for all our bags everywhere it really would see like it was reset to new guest standard every time they came to clean the room. We ate at the bar the first and second night during our stay. The food is absolutely delicious! My husband said the Wagyu burger was the best burger he has ever tasted! I would also recommend the Butter Chicken with Saffron Rice, and of course the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The next morning we had our breakfast. There are plenty of cold options available buffet style and a good choice of hot options to order. The staff were so lovely! Remembering us every morning and even our children by name! I particularly want to thank Crystal, Kate, Veronica, Lisa and Martina for looking after us so well. I also want to mention Elaine in guest services who was so friendly and chatty! She gave great recommendations for walks on the property including the fairy garden, my son in particular was very fond of her and had to run over to see her every morning. The girls in the Fota Spa are so lovely, and the treatments are phenomenal! The spa and pool area are beautiful and most importantly spotless! There is a kids cinema that has a projector and multiple bean bags. Diana told us that we could let reception know and they can put something on for the kids. We didn't request anything to be played but we did bring the kids in there a few times to burn off some energy in the bean bags. While we were there we very easily visited Cobh, Kinsale, Mahon Point Shopping Centre, and the Marina Markets. I would happily stay at the hotel again!

Good location for East Cork access

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stayed here for one night midweek in December 2025. Hotel was quiet so felt peaceful and comfortable. Housekeeping were very helpful and polite. Breakfast staff a little on the brusque side and didn’t make eye contact when greeting us and when we thanked them and said goodbye which felt a little rude. We particularly liked the individual cereal boxes on offer. Hotel is well located for access to Cork city, Cobh and East Cork area.
