This is a lovely, grand old hotel located in the best possible place for all things relevant in Frankfurt. We walked everywhere, easily. Old town is close by, financial district, and museum area are also right there within walking distance. The hotel was under a bit of construction…probably needed as it’s a bit “tired”. Our room was huge (European standard-wise) and spotless. We would absolutely stay there again whenever in Frankfurt.

We had a mixed experience during our stay at this hotel. On the positive side, the reception staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we were able to check in early, which we greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the quality of the room did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, we noticed a very strong and unpleasant odor in the bathroom, which quickly spread throughout the entire room. We reported the issue on Saturday, and the staff assured us it would be resolved by the evening. However, when we returned, not only was the smell still present, but whoever attempted to address it had left the bathroom door open, worsening the situation. Adding to the confusion, we found that a child’s bed had been placed in the middle of our room without any explanation. While staff eventually removed it, it could not be done until the following day. On Sunday, we contacted the front desk again regarding the persistent odor, but were told that no technicians were available that day. As a temporary solution, we were offered a different room, described as an “upgrade.” Unfortunately, this second room was much smaller, darker, and only had a queen-size bed instead of the king-size bed we originally had. It felt more like a downgrade than an upgrade. Overall, while the staff were consistently polite and eager to help, the hotel facilities and problem resolution fell far short of what one would expect from a property ranked among the best. I had six days of vacation in Beautiful Frankfurt. I chose Steigenberger Hof for my accommodation,, for the second time. Always a good choice. Location, ambience, service, architecture….everything was good. A small hiccup experienced!. The gentleman handling our check in , although looked mature and experienced, didn’t bother to give the usual general information about the facilities, breakfast, luggage handling,, car parking! He didn’t even point to the elevator direction! It’s a bit disappointing since the major positive impression from last stay was good service from all staff! I definitely recommend the Steigenberger Hof no matter what is the guest nature and purpose of visit to this chick city.

Poor service. Charged for items we did not purchase through room service. Tip charges were more than the items they said we ordered. When we contacted the front desk, they never responded to our calls, nor our emails. One individual even charged us $3000 twice for the room, as he said he was not aware we had already paid through Expedia. C Carter
