We had an absolute fabulous stay. This hotel is close to the old town as well as all the luxury brand stores. It is an easy walk to the stay to catch a long distance train or going to the airport. Lovely big rooms with big shower and a Nespresso machine and kettle. The beds are so comfortable.

The hotel has gone down in the level of service. Although I checked in online, it took a long time for me to receive the keys. In the bathroom, there is a container for body lotion which was empty. Not refilled. Breakfast was so busy that you had to queue to get in. You again had to queue in a long line just to get a coffee from machine. When you are in a rush, you simply cannot afford to wait in a queue.

we had arranged ahead to get adjacent rooms for our trip - despite this it was a slightly clumsy check in, but saved by the front desk/manager who was excellent the hotel is old/historic but has a good feeling, the elevators although charming are done and most dont work. the rooms are well sized, and well designed, very nice - but compromised by very shabby grotty towels. it makes no sense to compromise such a room - i thought it may have been bad luck but 2nd day towels were even worse. like sand papering your body in a youth hostel. despite the towels, the hotel is nice and represents good value

Gorgeous hotel, well located in the old part of town near the river. Great staff, comfortable beds, lovely cozy bar. Only complaint is having had to pay an extra 50 euros to get the room “priority cleaned” (their terminology, not mine) so that we could check in ahead of our scheduled time which was 3pm. We still had to wait for two and a half hours for the room.

We stayed at the Steigenberger Hof in Frankfurt for three nights in December, and it was simply one of our best hotel experiences. Reaching the hotel from the central train station was an easy taxi ride (although I know that the driver took a few extra turns to pad the fare). Then, from our arrival to our departure, service was careful and attentive. We were fortunate to be upgraded to an executive suite which was located in an upper corner of the building with a view toward the Romerberg. There was an issue when we arrived, as the door to the adjoining room was unlocked, but staff were quick to arrive to lock the doors. Room amenities were excellent, including a neat little tablet that we could use to order food or contact the staff. There was lots of space to store our luggage. The bathroom was large and featured a step-in tub with a shower attachment. At night the room was quiet, with little to no street noise. The included breakfast was served on the ground floor and featured an expansive continental style spread, including many hot plate options. It did get somewhat busy during breakfast, but the food was good. One evening we had dinner at the restaurant (Oscar’s). Service was attentive, and the food was excellent. The surrounding area was bustling and safe, with many stores and restaurants. We had no issues with walking around at night, although one must always be aware of their surroundings. The facilities overall were clean and neat, a definite throwback to an earlier period of luxurious decor. I had only a few quibbles: the elevators were somewhat slow. However, one evening when I had just missed an elevator, a concierge saw me and opened up another elevator, just for me! Second, the main entrance on Bethmannstrasse required taking a few steps up into the hotel, although there are other available entrances. Overall, these were very minor issues. We very much enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend the hotel. We hope to visit again.
