We recently spent two nights at the Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof. We had booked a “Grand Deluxe Room”, which we found to be very comfortable, clean, quiet, and spacious with a large and beautiful marble bathroom. The included breakfast was very good. The hotel’s location was ideal for exploring Frankfurt’s Christmas Markets. We would happily stay here again!

Just got home from a two night stay at the Frankfurter Hof and it was exceptional. We were upgraded to one of their largest suites and it was among the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel had very high ceilings which make you feel like you have so much space, and then this particular suite did have tons of square footage as well and was very thoughtfully designed. I loved the Acqua Di Parma products and the touch button controls on the rainwater shower. Our bedroom overlooked the Christmas tree outside which was an amazing touch. We also enjoyed the piano player in the lobby. We had dinner at Oscar’s one night. The schnitzel was excellent. 12.50 for a 1L bottle of water is excessive (my wife asked for sparkling, they brought still, we didn’t complain about it). But that’s my only gripe of the stay. Breakfast buffet has eggs cooked to order and some delicious croissants. Service was great as well. Check in staff and concierge couldn’t have been nicer. We’ll be back again in the coming years.

No more! A central position, a room with great spaces. But, when you (try to) have any service the answer is "no". We have been there for a weekend from saturday to monday, attracted by this "5 star superior" hotel. We had a good checkin experience, we were suitable for a room upgrade included within the reservation package but there were no availability, that was ok. Rooms are large, vintage style. I personally do not appreciate shower within the bath tub, but this is a personal thought. We asked for a harder pillow and the service was perfect: they provided us a choice and the chosen pillow was ready for the night. In the evening of saturday we took a drink at the hotel's bar, a very pleasant and elegant place; we sit at the bar counter, we love this position. Unfortunately, we had just one drink because the barmans started to bicker in front of us so we decided to move to the room. Sleeping have been a really good experience: the room was silent and comfortable. The second day started with breakfast. The breakfast is lascivous, and we appreciated a lot! Unfortunately, there were the egg's conrer chef - italian, like us - that was continously (at least, 20 minutes) complaining about her work, her collegues and so on. Even in our Language - we understood everything: defintely, toxic and anxiety experience for us and this is the first thing is very far away from a 5 star hotel. The second day was sunday and, from the experience from the last night, we decided to reserve a table at the bar at 9pm. From the room tablet - great tool! - this was not possible and the advice was to call the reception. For me, impossible! Trying with the room telephone I was not be able to call the reception, unless the direct button: there was a message but only in german, for me not understandable. No problem: going out for dinner, I asked the reception to reserve a table but the bar was closed (on sunday in a 5StarSuperior Hotel?). We tried at the restaurant and the maitre was very kind, he found a table for us in 20 minutes, unless the congestion. Thank you! After we spent a good evening after dinner, we back into the room. It has been rearranged perfectly and everything was pleasant. Unfortunately, my partner found a big piece of sharp glass in front of the bed. This is something far, far, far away from our expectations we left the message attached in picture, ready to tell at checkout. The last day, monday: we had breakfast, the desk lady was kind and welcomed us with a 5star "good Morning". The experience has been broken by the egg's chef lady, unfortunately: she was complaining today too: oh my gosh, again. Latest experience, check-out: "Everything ok?" asked us at the reception. My answer "Not so much, sorry". No other answers: the checkout just proceed with payment. In a 5 star superior hotel I expected just a "sorry, why?". No, this did not happen. Central and strategic hotel. No more. Train your staff, please.

Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof is a snooty and uncaring hotel. When we checked into our prepaid booking, they told us that their "booking partner" made a mistake and they will charge me 462 Euros more. When I refused, they did not honor the reservation with THEIR booking partner, agoda.com, who still lists their hotel on their booking site. I don't know if this is poor European customer service, but a better resolution would have been to provide the customer with a discounted booking option and not embarrass them for underpaying (apparently agoda.com only paid 8 Euros to this hotel. Ha!) and resolve the issue with their own booking partner. The person who claimed to be the check-in staff "manager" informed me that they will have the booking partner (agoda.com) revert the transaction and issue a full refund. That has not happened yet either. So, yeah, customer service for their own booking issues was poor.

Grand old luxury hotel in a perfect location in central Frankfurt. Spacious, tastefully furnished rooms with all the amenities one would expect. Great bathroom and shower. However, be very careful if you wish to amend a booking. They will charge unfairly for upgrades and so on. Don't make a non-refundable booking if you are not 100% sure of your arrangements. 46 euros for breakfast with no other option also led us to walking to nearby coffee shops both mornings we stayed here.
