Lovely hotel, excellent food but all made better by the exceptional staff

Amazing experience at Royal Savoy Madeira. Everything about the stay felt special. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly — they often help you even before you ask, like bringing sun umbrellas near the sea or the pool, which makes you feel really taken care of. The rooms are very cozy and extremely well equipped, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The weather was just perfect during our visit, and the food was absolutely amazing as well. Overall, a wonderful place to stay with excellent service and a beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely love to come back.

This is an elegant, quiet hotel in possibly the best location in Funchal, so convenient for the port, marina and town. We had a junior suite, which was large and comfortable. The food is excellent and the staff can’t do enough to help. While I would say the rooms need a gentle refurbishment, nevertheless this was a comfortable and classy stay.

Fantastic hotel. The location was perfect with some exceptional restaurants metres away but also close enough to the old town for more choice. The hotel is beautifully laid out and very clean and tidy. The direct access to the sea was a real bonus , which even in January was warm. The breakfast was exceptional and all the staff were helpful, friendly and courteous. Our room was large with a separate lounge and kitchen area. The hotel was very quiet with no noise from other rooms. Being able to access the larger Savoy Palace to use the rooftop bar was lovely although we agreed that the Royal was better value. The hotel is excellent value as it seems to be one of the only hotels along the sea front that has use of the spa and gym, which were excellent, included in the price. We cannot wait to come back to Madeira and will definitely stay at the Savoy Royal again.
