This place must have gone downhill since we booked our reservation. With positive reviews and an awesome website, we expected to have a nice stay with good service. Our stay hasn’t ended and I can say with confidence if it weren’t too late to switch our reservation for our last night to stay somewhere else, we would. We’ve had nothing but inconveniences and bad service since we got here. The most annoying thing by far is when we paid 180 EU to book a daybed by the pool. We had service for about 30 mins to start- just long enough to order some food - and then we never saw our server again. My food came and was completely wrong and something I can’t eat. There was no one to tell because no one came back. I didn’t want to sit on my daybed with my hot tray of rotting food so my husband took the tray over to the nearby towel assistant who refused to take it. He did alert other servers but no one returned to take another order even though we said we wanted food and drink and asked for our server back. They said they “are slammed.” From 11am-5pm they were so “slammed” we never got a server again and continued to go get our own drinks. This staff shortage is almost certainly due to the wedding the hotel is hosting. We were notified three hours after check in that the major restaurants will be CLOSED for the weekend even though when we asked for recommendations upon check in, the front desk would ONLY suggest the hotel’s restaurants! The hotel is doing nothing to make up for the inconvenience including being majorly understaffed. Plenty more but those are the highlights. If you’re from the US, don’t bother making the trip.

Lovely holiday this week, staff are very friendly. The restaurant near the pool is well worth a visit, great food and attentive staff. This is our fourth visit and we will return.

Loved our two nights at the Savoy Palace! Great location, spacious room with a sea-view balcony (almost all rooms have these), stylish bathroom (needs a stool or hooks to put stuff on). The Savoy is huge (300 rooms) and sprawling with two elevator banks, so it takes a bit to orient yourself. But the thoughtful design includes many seating areas so you never feel crowded, including a lovely rooftop deck with a huge infinity pool. It's not far to the sea itself, but it is a bit of a slog, weaving through up and down. There is a small private parking lot (10E/d) that is easy to miss. But they were great about validating our parking ticket when we parked in the wrong lot. The breakfast buffet was excellent; we also had room service and they carefully set up a lovely table on our balcony; and we had a great dinner at their Terreiro restaurant (a little hard to find): the lobster seafood risotto was so generous we could not finish it (warning: it's messy to crack open the stone crabs!). We got a tour of the the exclusive area for the 40 Reserve suites, which include airport transfers, private lounges, a variety of room options up to 3 bedrooms, and private plunge pools. These are perfect for those with high tastes. Savoy Signature is family owned and in the process of expansion. I highly recommend this property!

I recently stayed at the Savoy Palace and it is a fabulous hotel. Plenty of room by the main pool and pool attendants keen to assist. The rooms are large and well equipped but no tea or coffee supplied which is unusual for this standard of hotel. It was spotlessly clean and toiletries supplied. The views from the ocean front rooms are wonderful. My only other gripe was on two occasions I called reception to ask for someone to bring a cushion for the sunbed on the balcony ( it was not in the room as I had originally been told) and it did not materialise which was a shame. I would stay again but ensure everything was in place.

Meantvto have daily water in room for coffee machine only received twice once on arrival and again on day 4. Charged for minibar items not consumed as have dietary issues and never use this facility whilst abroad. So disappointed as break is for special occasion
