The Fortress Resort & Spa

My husband and I stayed at the Fortress Resort and Spa. We came here toward the end of our 2-week honeymoon; the 5 days we spent at the Fortress were absolutely amazing, and day 2 was actually our wedding day on site! The hotel is incredible; the staff are so friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The food is amazing, the views and nature are incredible, and we loved how we could see turtles just from the pool. Our wedding day was so special here; they handled everything, and wedidn'tt need to stress about anything at all, just get ourselves ready and turn up. We were surprised by how quiet the hotel is too, considering it is close to a busy main road; the noise level is lovely,y as you can only hear the waves on the shore,e which is very calming. The room we had was amazing- so clean. The staff came in twice a day to make sure things were all sorted, and the turn-down service was very special too. We've never experienced that before in other hotels. Location-wise, it is away from the city of Galle, but I think that is really ideal,l as you are only 20 minutes tuk-tuk away; it is in a good place to be close but not too close to all the traffic and busyness. We loved staying here, and we hope to return for our anniversary. Thank you, Madhusha, for making our stay and wedding so perfect!

I spent 8 wonderful nights at the Fortress. Every single staff member made me feel welcome, and nothing was ever too much effort for them. They really did everything possible to make the stay as comfortable and luxurious as it could be. The king bed was very comfortable, and the room itself was spacious, particularly the bathroom. I enjoyed the nightly turndown service, which also came with a sweet snack. I spent a lot of time either in the pool or lounging next to it. Towards the end of a sunny day, the water will have warmed up, and it was easy to sit in the shallow end for quite a long time. This, along with the constant crashing of the waves, was a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, and the waves were also nice to listen to before sleep. Finally, the buffet breakfast and dinner menus were extensive enough, and I always found the food to be of a high standard. There are a lot of desserts on offer, and my favourite was either the tiramisu or gulab jamun. The wait staff were extremely attentive, and also had an impressive memory for your preferences. It was lovely getting to know them as my stay progressed as well. Overall, my stay at the Fortress was one of total relaxation, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking the same thing.

Service was fantastic. Well looked after during my stay. Rooms were very well maintained. Restaurant staff and welcome staff go above and beyond.

Lovely beachside hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly helpful and welcoming. The food is delicious.

Amazing servise and very welcoming staff specially Mr.Dimuthu he was available all the time and ready to assist
