The g Hotelâ€(TM)s mix of old Hollywood glamour and elements that evoke the coastal region of Galway, Ireland create a beautifully unique design experience. With renowned hat-designer Philip Treacy, a native of Galway, at the helm, each room takes on itâ€(TM)s own special personaility; from the black glass walled main entrance that features a tank filled with Connemara-bred seahorses, to the hot pink Pink Lounge, with chairs covered in bright Andy Warhol fabric and a hand loomed vortex rug, to the luxurious linens and finishes that grace each finely appointed room. The hotel is home to Riva g, a first class resturant featuring international cusines, and a ESPA, a spa that promises to erase the stress of travel. At every turn there is something distinctive to catch your eye, and a staff ready to provide impreccable service with a warm smile.

Amazing Spa Afternoon with Fabulous Staff…We spent the afternoon in the Spa as the weather was very wet. We were greeted by the lovely Rachel who ensured that we had everything for our afternoon and more. After the Spa we spent the evening in the fabulous bar where we were had a fantastic platter of cheese and meats. A big thank you to Jack Ryan, Francesca, Lucie and Nick who all made our evening memorable but with a huge amount of attention to detail.

-Staff was friendly. -Parking is quick, easy and free. --My room was a very good size. Superior room. (no view) -Location: 20 min walk to center of town A few things that I found frustrating and/or upsetting: - prior to leaving the states, I attempted to call no less than 10 times to confirm my reservation. The phone just rang after I pressed the prompt. Not only did I not get my question answered since nobody answered however, I’ve now probably incurred long distance phone bill charges due are calling internationally. - cleanliness of the hotel was suspect. My bath mat has a stain on it. The bathroom floor showed watermarks on it from a prior stay leading me to believe that nothing gets mopped. The hallways also don’t appear to be vacuumed. They're undergoing construction however I stayed there on weekend when there was no construction going on Overall, I can't justify the price I paid.

Dear Merlis, I just wanted to say a big thank you for making our recent stay at The g Hotel & Spa such a special and unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and looked after. It was clear how much care and attention you put into making your guests feel at home, and it made all the difference. Please also pass along our sincere thanks to the rest of the team. Every staff member we met was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across such consistent and thoughtful service. Thanks again for everything — our time at The g Hotel will always stay with us, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Warmest regards, W & R

I usually stay at other 4 star hotels when coming to galway, I decided to treat ourselves and stay at the 5 star G hotel. Unfortunately after staying here for 1 night, this hotel is certainly NOT 5 star, I would struggle to give it a 4 star, Upon arriving at reception the reception is all black and looks dark, dirty and dingy. The room is not 5 star, very standard nothing luxury about it.. lots of stains on the carpet. Was woken up at 6am with someone maybe a bin man emptying bottles outside our window. The hallways to bedrooms also painted black and feel darky and dingy.. The food is also not 5 star standard, we ate in the lounge bar, had to return my starter was cold and soggy, breakfast was terrible, the Irish grill and omelette was greasy. The Irish grill felt reheated, it was very dry. To add insult when we went to use the pool, we were told we had to pay an additional 40euros for myself and husband to use it. We had already paid a lot to stay in the hotel why should we pay extra to use the pool. All facilities should be included in the price. Guests should be notified of these hidden costs upon booking as I certainly would not have stayed in the hotel if I had to pay extra to use the pool. They should add this cost onto the overall booking fee when getting a price to stay in a hotel. I find it very sneaky that they don't and guests have no option to pay as they are already in the hotel. Also I think they should offer a shuttle bus service or car into the city centre. It would only take a few minutes. Again this is something I would expect from a 5 star hotel... Overall no atmosphere in the hotel, the more I stayed in the hotel the bottom floor with the lounges felt like a large warehouse that was compartmentalized into rooms. Lastly I will say the hotel staff was absolutely lovely, couldn't fault them. But I certainly wouldn't return and I certainly wouldn't recommend and it's certainly not 5 star. Overall very disappointing stay.
