The g Hotelâ€(TM)s mix of old Hollywood glamour and elements that evoke the coastal region of Galway, Ireland create a beautifully unique design experience. With renowned hat-designer Philip Treacy, a native of Galway, at the helm, each room takes on itâ€(TM)s own special personaility; from the black glass walled main entrance that features a tank filled with Connemara-bred seahorses, to the hot pink Pink Lounge, with chairs covered in bright Andy Warhol fabric and a hand loomed vortex rug, to the luxurious linens and finishes that grace each finely appointed room. The hotel is home to Riva g, a first class resturant featuring international cusines, and a ESPA, a spa that promises to erase the stress of travel. At every turn there is something distinctive to catch your eye, and a staff ready to provide impreccable service with a warm smile.

I stayed at the G for my girlfriends birthday and was immediately met with the lovely staff who ensured all stops were pulled out for the occasion. Lucia and Dovydas at the desk were extremely helpful and even remembered to call the day of her birthday and wish their best. The room was fantastic and was setup with prosecco and even some lovely pastries. The breakfast was lovely and all staff were friendly and keen for a chat. We had an amazing time and it was all thanks to the wonderful staff who made sure we were looked after from the moment we arrived. We will definitely be back!

I had a weekend one night stay here with my sister. We enjoyed the location of the hotel very central easy to explore the city. We made use of the spa facilities which happened to be on the same floor as our room. We were put off by the dark corridors. The spa/thermal and treatments was nice to experience all though my treatment was a little bit lacklustre unfortunately. I almost really enjoy spa treatments but it seemed I barely got any facial products applied and my therapist seemed rushed. The room was very dark upon entering I couldn’t really see her while she was explaining the treatment so it made it difficult to explain my concerns for the treatment. The back massage was okay it wasn’t the best I’d ever had but I felt the benefits of muscle relaxation a few days later. She didn’t provide any home care advice and I had to ask her about the products she used. One in particular the mask which was lovely and I bought the retail alternative in the boutique. Myself and my sister thoroughly enjoyed the thermal suite the pool was warm however one of the areas didn’t seem to work also one of the shower settings didn’t either. After my treatment I was surprised with some fruit and water which was a nice touch. The steam room and saunas were pleasant and heated loungers were very relaxing. Our room was well maintained and nicely stocked with goodies to try and water. We slept very well. Overall I think this hotel is somewhere you need to stay for more then one night to really Benefit of the hotel facilities. Staff on reception were very helpful Rachel on the desk answered all questions made us feel welcome. It’s personally a once and a life time opportunity to stay here but sometime down the line I wish to be back again.

We were staying at the gHotel for the weekend and we have only good things to say about our experience. A special thank you to all the staff the service was absolutely top notch from start to finish. We were treated to breakfast at a lovely round table and had such a great time enjoying Bloody Marys, which was a really lovely and unexpected, dinner was fantastic too. Thank you again to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable we’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it! At breakfast we were offered Bloody Marysssss, and we were so shocked when they came over to make them right in front of us. It was such a fun experience and we really enjoyed it! The rooms were also very nice, comfortable, and relaxing. We will definitely return!

Just had lunch at the G. On arrival, we waited, as instructed on the sign. Despite having seen us, a member of staff ignored us for several minutes, only acknowledging our existence when I spoke to ask about lunch. He was quite dour and unwelcoming, as was one of his female colleagues. I regret not checking their names as they should be singled out for special mention. They definitely seemed unsuited to roles in hospitality! By stark contrast, the young lady who brought our food was pleasant, as was the young man who served our coffee. The food was good, although we waited quite a while for it. Ordering coffee was difficult, as the aforementioned unpleasant staff seemed reluctant to engage. After all that, the quality of the coffee was pretty poor. The overall experience was not what one expects from a 5 star hotel and I certainly would not be tempted to return.
