The g Hotelâ€(TM)s mix of old Hollywood glamour and elements that evoke the coastal region of Galway, Ireland create a beautifully unique design experience. With renowned hat-designer Philip Treacy, a native of Galway, at the helm, each room takes on itâ€(TM)s own special personaility; from the black glass walled main entrance that features a tank filled with Connemara-bred seahorses, to the hot pink Pink Lounge, with chairs covered in bright Andy Warhol fabric and a hand loomed vortex rug, to the luxurious linens and finishes that grace each finely appointed room. The hotel is home to Riva g, a first class resturant featuring international cusines, and a ESPA, a spa that promises to erase the stress of travel. At every turn there is something distinctive to catch your eye, and a staff ready to provide impreccable service with a warm smile.

Average but Tired The spa and Thermal Suite are wonderful The Lounge Bar is lovely where we had the Best Fish and Chips of our entire 5 weeks in Ireland and England. It would have been amazing when first opened 20 years ago! The signature restaurant was closed so we had limited choice for dinner as we had eaten lunch from the same menu The braised beef was dry like cardboard Free Parking provided

1. Not a 5 star hotel. Decorated very depressing. Room are very basic and looking over a car park. We paid €300 for one night. Breakfast was not included in the price. You had to pay a extra €20 to go to the thermal suite. Nothing to write home about. Music was depressing when we went back to the hotel. No attention to detail. Would not waist my money again

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a birthday break. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the beds were so comfy, the location of the hotel was central, the staff were simply amazing nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was freshly cooked each morning with plenty of choice. There was some maintenance work on going but this didn't impact us at all. Just as a note for caution the bulk of the rooms seem to be at the back of the hotel which backs onto a retail park.

This is a very nice hotel, just not our style. It is modern, sleek and glitzy. The atmosphere and location did not appeal to us at all. Service was very friendly and courteous. There are multiple bars with late night service available. We had booked the breakfast included option and it was a bit of a surprise as it was all off the menu, no buffet for cold options. It was not to our liking.

This was one of our favourite hotels on the trip. The main reception areas and bar are beautifully decorated and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. The spa has a v good sauna and steam room and a big hot water bubbling pool area and relaxation area upstairs. Enjoyed dinner and the live music as well as the set early evening 1930s Swing style music. About a 20 min walk into Galway centre. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 were the long dark corridors to the bedrooms and our bathroom radiator did not work. Its also a bit odd backing onto an industrial estate
