About the Hotel

The g Hotelâ€(TM)s mix of old Hollywood glamour and elements that evoke the coastal region of Galway, Ireland create a beautifully unique design experience. With renowned hat-designer Philip Treacy, a native of Galway, at the helm, each room takes on itâ€(TM)s own special personaility; from the black glass walled main entrance that features a tank filled with Connemara-bred seahorses, to the hot pink Pink Lounge, with chairs covered in bright Andy Warhol fabric and a hand loomed vortex rug, to the luxurious linens and finishes that grace each finely appointed room. The hotel is home to Riva g, a first class resturant featuring international cusines, and a ESPA, a spa that promises to erase the stress of travel. At every turn there is something distinctive to catch your eye, and a staff ready to provide impreccable service with a warm smile.

Beautiful birthday stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Stayed in the G on Sat 6th June for my Wifes Birthday. It is always a pleasure to stay in this excellent hotel. We had a lovely welcome gift in the room and had dinner in the resteraunt which was excellent. At reception Lucia and Christine were friendly. Cormac looked after us in the resteraunt and was professional and friendly and Aisha and Stephen were chatty and excellent at the bar. And Nabile who welcomed us was running a good show. Thanks to all the staff on the night. We will be back.

In Galway, unexpected pampering at the G Hotel and Spa

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My sister and I stayed at the G Hotel in April for 2 nights. The room was very comfortable (we had two single beds), the bath was 5-star modern. The breakfasts were wonderful. The staff: amazing! I write though about the spa facilities. Yes facials, massages, and beauty treatments. But what was absolutely unexpected was the sauna/steam room/pool facilities. I was able to book this -- at no additional charge, I learned on checkout - and had the whole place to myself. The other delightful thing were the pink and blue lounges facing the water. These lounges were wonderful for relaxing in the evening with a drink from the adjacent bar (no table service, but not a problem). Finally, we ate dinner at the hotel on the day we arrived. The food was fresh and fabulous, staff very attentive and friendly. Cannot recommend the G more highly. Note: when booking, you may wish to ask for a room at the front of the hotel. The back of the hotel is a shopping mall parking lot. :)

Iv never come across a system quite like this, least of all from a 'prestigious' supposed 5 star hotel.

-You call the Spa to book, -Spa doesn't answer, -The hotel reservations answers the call eventually -They take the full booking (including time and day), then after they've taken your personal data including email for 'booking confirmation' purposes, they tell you the Spa has to be the one to confirm the booking and they will call you. -They expect you to wait for a phone call. -You miss the call, because unfortunately it's always convenient to wait for a return call to confirm a simple booking. -You call back -Spa doesn't answer. -Again answered by hotel reservations. -You proceed to tell them how it's less than 3 star service rather than 5 star that you again have to wait for the call back, but receptionist seems determined to talk over you on the call. -Then tells you to wait patiently for a call back as she cannot take the booking. Sadly not the first time this has happened. Pathetic operation unfortunately. Don't give your money to these people, they are not worth it.

25th Anniversary - special touches make special occasion

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The overall experience from start to finish was amazing, the welcome at reception to the additional touches, room upgrades, special touches to make our 25th anniversary a special time, the g staff went just that bit beyond what we expected and it finished off what was an amazing break for us. Staff everywhere just went that extra mile in every way, nothing was a bother, attitudes, personalities, helpful and all round professional
