Came here for a wedding from the States, we met James the next day at the bar. Couldn’t have been a better experience. Great hospitality, friendly service, great vibes and food. 10/10 recommend

Beautiful stay but needs some service attention.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I recently stayed for two nights in the Glennlo Abbey hotel and overall had a very enjoyable experience. It's a very elegant hotel situated in a stunning setting. That said, when paying five star prices, i do expect standards to be above the rest. While the overall experience was positive, there was a few small but noticeable details that didn't quite meet that level. At breakfast, tables were cleared very slowly if not at all which made the dining area feel a bit disorganised. Additionally, when we arrived to our room at 3pm, there were plates and glasses left outside on the floor of another guests bedroom. Unfortunately, when we passed the same bedroom again at 11pm they were still there.  Small touches like this make a big difference, especially in a hotel that marks itself as five star. It's a wonderful hotel with great potential, but greater attention to detail and consistency in service would truly elevate the experience to match the five star experience.

Outstanding afternoon tea experience.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My daughter and I shared afternoon tea for Mother’s Day on the 15th. From our initial entrance into the hotel it was just a lovely friendly warm welcoming experience. We dined in The River room and it was just exceptional. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The afternoon tea was just 5 star. We will definitely return.

Uncomfortable and disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I attended the Glenn Abby for lunch with my sister and her children the minute I entered the premises I felt watched and uneasy the staff were very rude when I received my food I also received the bill 10 mins later they couldn’t get us gone quick enough there was other couples with children so I didn’t understand why we were getting singled out I’ll never attend it again absolutely ridiculous Good was good thought

Lovely weekend break in a classy hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife & I booked this weekend away a few months back. We'd been once before and enjoyed the hotel. Great this time, too. Perhaps the only annoying thing was the slight griping of other customers about things that seemed trivial. I'm afraid such nice places sometimes attract those with a sense of entitlement! The bar was a wee bit rowdy on the Friday night, too, when we were trying to get something to eat. But I guess the Ireland-Wales rugby wad on. What did we expect! Thanks for a nice weekend.
