Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

May be one of my new favorite hotels in the world! The service and the accommodations at this reserve were some of the nicest we have ever experienced. My three kids loved the kids club and were thrilled to go on some kid only adventures, chill out and watch a movie, and play pool! This allowed my husband and I to thoroughly enjoy the dinners and wine pairings. The wait staff and sommelier were fantastic. We celebrated our anniversary durning this trip and the staff and Grootbos went above and beyond our expectation. I definitely recommend this reserve and hope to return in the future!

We stayed in Grootbos as part of our honeymoon trip and I have to say it could be the best hotel we have ever visited, anywhere in the world. The suites, the food, the facilities and the staff are all absolutely exemplary - and needless to say the view and area is divine! The staff were incredibly attentive and even organised a surprise dinner for us one evening in their private wine cellar, which was an amazing experience - they really do go the extra mile for you here and will make your stay so memorable and special. We have been fortunate to travel around the world a lot and Grootbos would be our number one choice to return to. Special mentions to our wonderful guide Lino, and to Bianca and Princess who made our stay even more amazing. Thank you!

My family of three had an outstanding experience at Grootbos. We stayed in the Garden Lodge in a one-bedroom suite for three nights. Our safari consultant, Piper and Heath, told us about Grootbos, and I am so happy that they did. The room was very nice and very comfortable. The bedroom area was huge, with a great bed, an office area, and a very large bathroom with separate shower and tub. Our child’s single bed was set up in the living area (it was not a rollaway or a sofa bed, and it was very comfortable. Plus the room had a fantastic view. For activities, we did a Marine Big 5 tour, a tour of caves and the beach at Walker Bay Reserve, and horseback riding, and a botanical/fynbos tour. We also did some hikes around the beautiful property. Our guide, Jono, was great, and he was very good with my child. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities, and we could have spent another day at Grootbos. Grootbos went out of the way for our child, from special room decorations to gifts. It was really incredible. I highly recommend Grootbos for a family vacation. All of the staff was great, but we especially want to thank Jono, Heidi, and Joanita. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Brilliant Relaxing place to stay. Everything was excellent - The team, the food , our lodge and the adventure trips A wow location. Every one made us feel very welcome. Probably one of the best breaks that we have had in over 50 years of travelling. They are doing a lot for the environment and the local community. We learned so much Highly recommended. We will be back

Grootbos was absolutely wonderful and the view of the coastline is better than the pictures! We stayed at the Forest Lodge for 3 nights and we did a beach picnic (highly recommended), cave exploration, flower/fynbos safari, and horseback riding. We even got lucky enough to enjoy a special boma dinner in the forest. Grootbos is an easy 2 hour drive from Cape Town and worth every penny! Our guide, Ruaan, and server, Candice, took excellent care of us. Many thanks to all of the staff for a memorable and enjoyable stay for our family.
