Well located by the other 5* hotels. The staff are extremely attentive and more so than in most 5* hotels. For uk travelers Swiss hotel prices are exorbitant and this hotel is one of the cheaper 5* options but still pricey. Parking is 55 chf s day. Room was slightly darkly furnished but well appointed- 10/10 for blackout blinds, nice lake view and providing a tea pot! Super comfy and large bed. Not my favourite room of any hotel (not huge) but perfectly decent. Very nice breakfast options which were included in our stay. Fabulous afternoon tea. One tiny gripe- tea/coffee should be unlimited and so should cream/jam as there wasn’t enough for two scones. But quality and presentation were 10/10 and not bad value either given Swiss prices. Lovely restaurant decor. Main disadvantage is no outdoor sundeck, pool or spa. Hence my review allocating a 4 rather than a 5. If you don’t need those facilities you will enjoy a very nice and upmarket stay here

A simply perfect stay. I had the pleasure of spending a few days at the Hotel d’Angleterre and I can say without hesitation that it is one of the most refined experiences I have ever had. The location is unparalleled: directly overlooking Lake Geneva, the view from the room was postcard-like, with the Jet d’Eau and the Alps in the background. Every morning the light filtering through the large windows looked like a painting. The rooms are elegant, with attention to every detail, with refined fabrics, very comfortable beds and an impeccable housekeeping service. The atmosphere is intimate, welcoming, never impersonal. Breakfast deserves a special mention: a refined and generous selection, served in the room overlooking the lake. Each dish was prepared with care, from the warm croissants to the smoked salmon, to the fresh fruit and natural juices. The staff? Simply fantastic. Attentive, friendly, always smiling and never intrusive. You can feel the passion for hospitality. A special thanks to the concierge, who helped us make every moment of our stay special, even organizing a boat trip on the lake.

After reading so many glowing reviews, we were disappointed. The staff were wonderful, and our dinner and breakfast were great (except that they were unable to provide the advertised glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and were unable to provide any alternative Sauvignon!) . The room, however (an Exclusive Lake View) was inadequate for a hotel of this standard, and at this price point (€1000+) - clothes storage was limited to a dark and tiny walk-in cupboard which also housed the minbar and kettle - the kettle could not be plugged in where it was provided and had to be moved to be operated - coffee provision was poor. One sachet of ground coffee, and instant sachets more appropriate for a budget hotel. It is unacceptable not to provide a pod machine these days I’m afraid - the lighting was totally inflexible. I couldn’t put on the lights in the clothes cupboard without turning on all of the lights in the room! - the toilet was in the main bathroom, right behind the door, with no privacy from the rest of the bathroom - the shower was over the bath. Again, inappropriate at this price point - the view from the room was mainly of trees and a children’s carousel, although the fountain was just visible Overall, very disappointing, and we would not return.

We had an excellent stay at D’Angleterre. The location is excellent. The rooms are classic and charming as well as not missing any modern conveniences. Nicolas and Sebastian were super helpful both before and during our short stay and made our short stay memorable.

An amazing experience all-in-all. Fantastic location and friendly staff, has a really great time. Room was comfortable, but what really stood out was service. Impeccable service by the manager, front office, and housekeeping. Made our stay in Geneva feel more upgraded
