Terrific breakfast and server

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Sarah was my server for breakfast each morning and she was absolutely lovely. She remembered my order and was delightful. The complimentary breakfast was terrific and Sarah made me feel so welcome. I looked forward to breakfast each morning.

Loved the Pool and the Fumoir

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Stayed with a large group of friends. Absolutely loved the Pool and the Fumoir. Minor hiccups were dealt with good service recovery. With rooms you need to be very careful not to be on the east side, where there is a loud road below. Also the rooms have varying standards of renovation. The public spaces are recently renovated and both luxurious and tasteful. The event team, concierge and valet are doing a great job. Experienced, friendly and approachable General Manager. Thank you.

Its ok hotel not great at all

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Pretty hotel but dated and many flaws. The employees are fantastic and very friendly. I expected more from this hotel. The shower floods the bathroom because the water flows out, there is nothing to stop it. The mirror fogs up quickly there is no fan to stop the moisture. As a woman the room is not accommodating at all to get ready, no dressing table, the plugs are behind the side table in which that is the only place a mirror is located. The other plug in the living room is next to the TV with no mirror. Ask for extra pillows because they are flat. We were on a business trip but also enjoyed pool time. The pool is a good size and staff are around to help seat you, the poolside restaurant is supposed to be the Italian Restaurant as well, not many things on the menu mostly picky bits so not really an Italian restaurant. We did not eat in the hotel much, we went out most nights. There is lovely restaurant behind the hotel in walking distance, highly recommend the fondue. Its called Cafe Du Soleil. The pool staff were great the first few days after that they were a bit busier and not attentive at all. There seems a lack of organization. They all walk around and try to attend to people but forget what you asked for because they have not written it down and don't have sections to each wait on. They also let people in off the street so the pool gets very busy with outside people which is completely unacceptable. They hotel was sold out I would think they would want to take care of their guests but the more the merrier. So many times they missed our orders and twice in one day forgot orders including food. it took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get 2 starters. They also stopped serving water in ice bags. We asked several times but did not get answers. Too many outside people allowed in a booked hotel and bad service is enough to send us to another hotel. The room service is quick and used it several times after leaving the pool disappointed. The concierge service for reservations is great . The manager from the pool did come to speak to us finally on the last day but for us it was way too late. We would not return. Not sure they get how much this hotel needs addressing. We spoke to many others in our group that felt the same, our group alone had 150 rooms at least.

Wonderful stay in Geneva

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

What an amazing stay! Travelled to Geneva for a conference, and added on some extra days. A very easy walk to transit making accessing the city centre very simple. On a nice evening, even walking back from the lake was simple if you are up to it (it took about 50 min). The Poolside was amazing, attentive service. Breakfast in the morning was also very good, with the same attentive service. Will definitely be back.

Luxury and history all in one

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental Geneva. The hotel has a lot of history being located so close to the Palais des Nations. The lobby is grand and the rooms are comfortable. We appreciated the air conditioning as it was hot during our visit. All of the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Michelle at the front desk, Emma the concierge and Sarah at the Woods restaurant were all wonderful! The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had in all of our travels in Europe. Our stay included city bus passes and it was easy to take the bus from the Intercontinental bus stop to get to other parts of Geneva. Highly recommend this hotel!
