Historic Charm, Modern Comfort and an Unforgettable Atmosphere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

A hotel with historic charm and modern comfort, filled with the enchanting atmosphere of a bygone era. Walking through its interiors, you feel as though you have stepped back into the days when Genoa’s high society gathered here for elegant balls and grand social events. My wife and I love hotels housed in beautifully restored historic buildings, and the Bristol Palace gave us another truly memorable stay. Our room was spacious, with comfortable beds, and it also offered something that has unfortunately been disappearing from hotel rooms lately: individually adjustable temperature control. We could set the temperature exactly as we wished, which definitely earns the Bristol Palace a big thumbs-up from us! A generous breakfast is served in the magnificent setting of the Giotto Restaurant, making it a wonderful place to start each day. The hotel also enjoys an excellent location near Piazza Raffaele De Ferrari, just a few minutes’ walk from the harbour and Via Garibaldi, with its famous palaces. We greatly appreciated the exceptionally kind, welcoming and helpful staff, and we would like to thank them for making our stay in Genoa so enjoyable. The valet parking service was absolutely excellent, with our car always ready within just a few minutes. The magnificent marble Art Nouveau staircase is also well worth admiring—and taking a few photographs of. You rarely come across anything quite like it.

An elegant, historic hotel full of old-world charm in a central location.

Old-world elegance in the heart of Genoa. The street outside is full of hustle and bustle, but once you step inside, everything feels calm, comfortable, and pampering. We spent five days in Room 545—spacious, quiet, and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the street. The blackout curtains were a real plus. No street noise. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, the breakfast had plenty of good choices, and the bartender made excellent cocktails. Great location, historic charm, comfortable rooms, and dependable service. We would gladly stay again.

Historic Elegance with Room for Improvement

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The location is just perfect, in the heart of Genoa. You're literally stepping back in time. It's a well-maintained historic property, although certain areas could use some updating. The service is of a very high standard, but I'm not sure I'd consider it a true five-star hotel. Four stars would be a better fit. Our room on the top floor was a decent size but rather simply furnished, and the bathroom hardly deserves to be called a bathroom. It was a small, cramped space with no room for your own toiletries and a very tight shower. The hotel bar lacks atmosphere and character, and has little elegance. The restaurant, on the other hand, is very good and has a lovely outdoor terrace. Overall, it's a solid hotel in the heart of the city, with a comfortable bed and friendly, welcoming staff.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

This was a great choice for us in Genoa. The room was huge and atmospheric and we had a wonderful sleep. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was a disappointment as it was busy when we were there but very poorly managed. Hard to access drinks and the hot food was all cold with the hot dishes turned off. We would stay again.

Genoa family trip.

Very good hotel if you want to be near center, museums, attractions, local vibe. Many shops are in the same area. We have enjoyed spacious rooms, helpful & kind employees, bright & nicely decorated hotel public areas in general, everything was very clean. We loved our breakfasts indoor & at terrace too. It is a place to be returned to, city and region to be returned too. We can only thank to hotel stuff making our 4-5 days stay enjoyable & comfortable. We have liked an option of car parking done by dedicated person for car movements without us thinking where to park. Room & bellboy service was nice & handy. See you again for sure!
