About the Hotel

A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

Reviews for Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel

Thank you Olivia for making my experience absolutely luxurious!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

Had my spa day after years of wanting to go for a special day out after my dad passed away and it was amazing beyond my expectations!!! The thermal experience was absolutely spectacular which included the snow room, the salt room, a jacuzzi that filled the entire floor, a large pool with a dark pool as well. The two saunas as well as the amethyst sauna and the tepidium were wonderful for my painful joints and muscles. I want to give a particularly huge shout out to Olivia who did my Oskia purify and revival facial!! She created such a beautiful and luxurious environment with a warm and kind delivery, understanding that it was my first spa experience she was able to explain every process in detail and how it would rejuvinate my tired wee face. She's truly a fantastic gem at Blythswood and i'm now absolutely craving that experience again so I will surely be back hopefully sometime soon! Thanks so much Olivia! :D Thank you to everyone including the servers, bartenders and chefs in the kitchen for providing a spectacular meal and to the receptionists who were very helpful too!!

Beautiful Anniversary Stay with Lovely Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stayed at the Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow for our wedding anniversary and booked a Premium King Room with a garden view. The room was absolutely beautiful, spacious, elegant, and perfect for a special occasion. Every single member of staff we interacted with was so lovely and welcoming. We’ve visited the spa many times over the years and have always enjoyed it, but during this visit it was incredibly busy and uncomfortably warm. Even the main pool felt hot, more like a bath than a relaxing swim, which made the experience less enjoyable this time. On a brighter note, breakfast delivered to our room was a wonderful touch and genuinely delicious. It was such a nice way to start the day and added to the sense of occasion. Overall, a lovely stay with excellent service and a beautiful room.

Wonderful experience on every level at this hotel

Upon arriving at hotel , we were immediately greeted by David , who took our cases very happily and super friendly. Check in was quick , seamless and Chelsea was super helpful And lovely . Our room was fabulous and very spacious with a great , large bed . Laurie was one of the most friendly and helpful concierge, who recommended a fantastic restaurant for dinner . After dinner , we drank the new festive cocktails in the stunning bar . Again the staff were delightful. We went to breakfast at 10am and it was super busy , so we waited about 30 mins to be seated . The hotel was full and being Sunday morning, everyone chose to dine later rather than early , but the breakfast was delicious and again the staff wonderful . We will definitely return to this splendid hotel and enjoy more delights of Glasgow !!

Dirty bath plug , underwhelming food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My daughter and I stayed here for my 60th birthday on the 17th of November, on a square deal offer , dinner , bed and breakfast, bottle of Prosecco in the room £250 so we were happy . The dinner is from the festive menu which is 2 courses for £35 if you’re paying , the main is small , we did enjoy it , we had 2 sides to share and bread which is all extra , the starters were not to our liking so we had dessert , one of which was lovely the other one was left . I think a better offer would be to take the £35 each off whatever we ordered from the main menu . I had a bath and had a problem draining it the plug came out and it was disgusting , no other words , I informed reception , the girl apologised and said she would pass this on to housekeeping , I have also got in touch with head office and was sent another apology from the Hotel , this is not a 5 star Hotel , if the plug wasn’t dirty I wouldn’t be writing this . The service in the restaurant is slow , all the staff are young , not an issue , they were all wearing shirts that were white when they received the uniform and it’s not they’re fault , however the 5 star hotel should be on top of this , change the colour of shirts or give them new ones .I wouldn’t stay again , I work hard for my money and for me this just doesn’t give what it promises , we’ll go to the Dakota the next time .

Very relaxing pool night

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We only came for the spa, so couldn’t comment on the hotel, but the spa was perfect. We chose to come at 6:30 on a Tuesday, which I believe was their last slot, to use the pool and sauna etc. sadly the snow room was closed which we had been looking forward to trying but the other amenities did not disappoint. Particularly liked the dark rooms with the pools, one of which had a starry night sky above. The changing rooms were stylish and modern and we got a glass or free Prosecco at the end.
